Dh hates Linkin Park and I might not have married him if I had known that. That's grounds for divorce.

. Listening to it is cruel and unusual punishment. I don't think I would go on a road trip if that was required Oh come one you two. Willy Nelson's "Still not dead" is a hoot. Not that that makes up for all the bad stuff out there but you have to admit there are exceptions. Yes, there are some better than listening to chalk on a blackboard

There's country music that is good (Willie Nelson) and then there is the fake macho, lowest common denominator bro country dreck that is popular. I like bluegrass, I like folk, and I like Americana; I do not 'murica, trucks, and party cup songs.

For some reason, the weeknd does nothing for me. I'm pretty eh on Doja Cat as well.
I don't like Post Malone's newest songs. I like his earlier stuff much better. I think Songs about restaurants are dumb. The date night at applebees was Ok. But Waffle House? What's next? McDonalds? Now, when I'm in a rage, I like Offspring.

so, the date night at Applebees was a super cute song, until Applebees picked it up as an ad, and I now hate that song, too. past that, I don't recognize anything else in your post except the Offspring. Post Malone is the heavily tattooed guy, I think? I listen mostly to (good) country, indie artists, 60s stuff, and 90s HS nostalgia. I'm totally okay not knowing what you're talking about lol....

Megan Treynor. Especially her latest song Mother.
Don't know why it just grates on my nerves.

If you want songs I hate wait until TG when the Christmas songs start blasting without let up. At the moment I am neutral about them but it takes just a few days until radio is replaced by CDs LOL.

Yeah. Post Malone is the tattoed guy. DS lisened to Post when Post was just starting out.
I try to keep up on current songs and pop culture. It gives me talking points with my students. Especially for the kiddos that like to give me one word answers to "How has your week been" (ie, good, fine, etc)...then there's an opportunity to break through. Even watching the Mandolorian really helps. I have one kiddo, in particular, that is really reserved. We've been doing lessons together for a while, and the kid finally cracked a joke with me. I think it's because I keep at it with trying to ask them questions about things that are important to them.
I love me my beetles, simon and garfunkel, and music of my childhood. It's great. But no one can relate hardly anymore. Even the parents of my kids are starting to be a good amount younger than me (like 10 years old).
I also don't like Lizzo's 2 be loved song. But man, I love her.

You Light Up My Life by Debbie Boone. Almost puke just writing this. Most here are probably to young to remember it. But they played it every other song on all stations

Thanks Welts. I found another one of theirs. The soloist is great for this song.

Seven Spanish Angels with Ray Charles and To All the Girls I’ve Loved Before with Julio Iglesias.

I listened to their first album on repeat for...I don't even know how long. I'm sure it's on my parents rage list.

I'd have to go with: Florence + The Machine - Ship To Wreck
all I hear is a Mondegreen: her shrieking about a Ship of DRECK! DRECK!!! DRECK!!! DRECK!!! over and over and over for however long the song lasts. I know we all have lots of stuff in our lives - ugly, disposable, stuff... but for goodness sake just order a dumpster and get rid of it! Please stop singing about it.
And yes I know the song is not about trash...
Alanis Morissette's voice makes me wanna kill people, too. (and I'm generally all for singers with weird singing voices, Billie Holiday, Kate Bush, Prince... but Alanis- just no.)

I'm not a big fan of Sublime -- but Lana Del Rey did a pretty good cover of "Doin' Time"....
(Lana Del Rey probably isn't for everyone... )

Gotta take issue. While a lot of people love Rush for their prog-rock style after Neil Peart joined them, and a lot of others never got into it at all, their debut album pre-Peart was a good, fun, blues-rock album and a pretty good record. While not really fair to call them a Led Zeppelin clone, the sound and influence are definitely there. Far better than a lot of the trash that got played, and damn good for a debut. Besides, how can you hate a record that has on the album notes, "For best results play at maximum volume."?

"Soak up the Sun" by Sheryl Crow. I wouldn't want to hear it all the time, but I love this song. Its an underfunded anthem. Its about not being able to afford much but still choosing to keep a positive attitude. [Bridge] I'm gonna soak up the sun
While it's still free
I'm gonna soak up the sun
Before it goes out on me[Verse 4] Don't have no master suite But I'm still the king of me You have a fancy ride, but baby I'm the one who has the key [Pre-Chorus] Every time I turn around I'm lookin' up, you're lookin' down Maybe something's wrong with you That makes you act the way you do Maybe I am crazy too
