We’re going to visit DD next weekend and look at a couple of houses while we’re there. I would really love to be closer to DD and the grandkids as we are currently about 5 hours away from them. I feel torn about it as we don’t see DS nearly as much as we see DD and the kids. One of the house’s we are going to look at is really nice, but it’s a little bit far from DD so not sure if it’s doable. I’m excited to see what’s out there though.

I finally got my 2 hour respite at the nail salon this afternoon and that massage chair was just what I needed after yesterday's yard work. 12+ women, an adorable 4-year old boy, spa music on the audio and NBA on the tube. One client was teaching the staff the Spanish words for various polish colors. I'm glad you got some down time for yourself.

DD2 just moved to a house 25 min from me, according to Google maps. But when I drive there and back home, it takes me over an hour, each way. She thinks I'm exaggerating and being ridiculous. I hate it. And her house is too big to watch and interact with 2 toddlers. Plus all those stairs. Although I'm happy for them, I am not a fan. It's hard on me. She doesn't seem to get that. Or maybe it just doesn't matter. I hope you find something you like.

eh, the hell with house productivity today. I moved the laptop outside to sit in the sun. I'll be scrolling LinkedIn, etc and hopefully throwing in some applications. today wasn't supposed to be sunny here, so this is bonus time and Vitamin D. I've been off for four days and remarkably unproductive the entire time. I have however managed to watch three entire seasons of Black Sails and sort a few totes from my bedroom disaster of totes.
I'm a little annoyed with myself tbh.
I totally get that. sometimes it's needed, though. see also, my marathon nap last Friday. you and cg list out so much physical work on a daily basis, don't sweat a few days of being a slug. your body told you to have a seat for a change.

After I clean up supper, I think I'll put in my earplugs and curl up in the TV room with DH to read the Sunday paper. Tomorrow is another day which might or might not include more shrub pruning and weed treatment depending on tonight's rainfall. Either way, sanitizing the kitchen, dusting my share of the house, and cleaning the leather upholstery is on next week's list.
Old man author is supposed to call tonight to set up a drop off for the latest revisions, but no call yet.

there's a weird theater outside again, for Mrs Crazypants next door. an ambulance is in their driveway, and a fire truck and SUV are parked on the wrong side of the street surrounding the driveway, all with lights. there's also a dude in a fireman's reflector jacket in the street, directing traffic around the vehicles. I actually just called my mother to see if anything weird happened last weekend while I was away, and nothing. I've seen Mr walking around in the driveway, so I know it's her again, for whatever it is. what's weird is that I've seen both of them out on walks today. and she's been pacing again, at least before I left last week.

I have to go into the office 4 days this week. ETA: Do you know how many showers I'm going to have to take? Too many!? exactly. Normally it's like every 2-3 days. I also have to buy knitting needles. What do they have in common? Things that make me go grrr. (I have plenty of size 4 longer circular needles, but no size 5.. Taking a class soon, and I want to use the called-for materials).

I'm shaky, my own fault, hubs and I had a DQ. Hubs wanted to know if I wanted one and I got a milk shake should have eaten something this morning. Now it will take me a bit to get ok again. Haven't done that for awhile.
I packed up 2 sacks of books and have them in the trunk of the car. There are about 13 I'm keeping. There is one more box on top of the bookcase down there to go through them I'm done with books downstairs. I still have more to go through upstairs but some are cookbooks
We have 2 masonic bibles, one of hubs and one of his dads, I think there is another here that is my dads, they were all masons. Hubs also belongs to the Scottish Rite. Not quite sure what to do with them now.
I am on my 3rd load of fabric to wash. The critters really had a feast on one shelf of pecans so washing all of that. When I get through I will be down to the last cabinet. Of course then I can start on all the shelves. I kept a lot but I sure got rid of a lot also. I hated to but just had to be done.
I was going to pack up a bunch of canning jars, but need to at least finish these cabinets first. One thing at a time. I bet I have 6 to 10 dozen I can let go. We can always buy more if needed. I am keeping a case of freezer containers, its never been opened.
Just so much to do and its going to take me months. And here I am leaving for 40 days, probably not the best time, but going to do it anyway, this stuff won't go anywhere it will still be here waiting for me.
I bought some type of orthotic. It's a band that goes around under the arch and has a soft big bump on it made to raise the arch. For me I have big bumps that are the huge callouses under the arch now, so I move these on the outer side a bit and it levels the bottom of my foot. This takes the pressure off that big painful callous. This makes it a lot more comfortable to walk on. I hope it stays this way. I haven't tried it in all my shoes just sandals, sure has helped. They are called Strutz and available at Walmart.

Japan on our left, Russia on our right. We are on the second of 7-8 sea days (courtesy of the international date line). Seas are fairly calm, TD’s critter watch has yielded nil. He was up at the buttcrack of dawn to go on the wildlife hunt. He did throw a load of clothes in too. It was a whopping 39° out on his critter watch. Internet has been sketchy, so have spent more time knitting. I will run out of yarn for this sweater today until I get home. My choices are play with my new yarn (which means I need to wind it up as it’s all in hanks) or figure out what to do with the project I bailed on a week ago. At least that yarn is in cakes. I dunno what I’ll do, but I have choices.

Ugh. The clothes are piling up on the side of my bed, I don't sleep on. I wish someone else would come put them away. I hate that part of doing laundry.

I just had dinner and now I want (coffee) icecream for desert. I have no coffee icecream or any icecream at all for that matter. So I am eating an apple and a plum and calling it fruit salad.but that doesn't do it. it doesn't do it at all. However, since I am not going to the store this week I see a lot of "fruit salad" in the near future

At least now it's only half. Friday and Saturday night I had to sleep on the couch because they took up the whole thing.

Years ago, I simply pushed stuff off the bed, when it got to be too much. I was very depressed and I couldn't see it over there. But then my boyfriend would come over and I'd be embarrassed. Also, I couldn't change my sheets until I cleaned it up so... Now I'd trip over it, getting to my bathroom, so I need to put it away. I just don't want to. (1st world problems, I know.)

The best part of laundry is folding the warm/hot clean clothes. I know I am weird If only they didn't have to be put away. Not that it's hard. I just don't enjoy doing it. I get no instant gratification. And I have no one to talk to, in order to take my mind off of what I'm doing. It's one of those drudgery chores. I need to clean out my closet, so I have more room to hang my clothes.

Good morning, showered invisipeeps enveloped in clean laundry and in need of ice cream. Welcome to Monday. I hope this day bestows on you All.the.Ice.Cream and a willing assistant to put away laundry and do any other mundane housekeeping tasks you've been avoiding. For me, that would include most housekeeping at this point. Yesterday DH and I both crashed after the show, loading and unloading equipment and photos. Those suckers are heavy in their frames. But it's all done until next weekend, when we have a festival in the town DSis lives in. I did take Franklin the Dog on a very long walk yesterday. We saw the sun set:

Sneezing my head off.
Saturday was a cool but lovely day at the ballpark. Sunday was a trip to donate the last of the items the kids left when they moved out and then working - have a deadline to meet by EOD, when all I really want to do is crawl back into bed.

Power went out at 2:30 this morning; finally came back on at 4:30 so I didn't get much sleep. Even though we have the generator I have to get up and silence the alarm system, scream at DH who doesn't have his ears on, check the outage tracker, and get restoration updates on my phone. By then I'm awake. There will be a nap in my afternoon schedule.

today's background noise (and that of the next few weeks) is the start of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts vs Karen Read. she's the woman accused of hitting her boyfriend while driving drunk in a snowstorm and leaving him to die in the snow. autopsy photos that have been released as part of defense filings show injuries clearly not related to being hit by a car, but rather being bitten by a dog in the house where she had dropped him off for an after-hours party at the house of a fellow Boston police officer.
this is a basic summary of the facts that have come to light. and yes, it's 32min long. the man speaking is the investigative blogger that blew this case up in the media after he started digging. he's very inflammatory and I'm not a fan of his for various reasons, but when he does a deep dive like this - he's never been wrong.

It took A LOT of effort to come in today. It's only my desire to not wait tables again unless I absolutely have to that got me moving. Otherwise I was seriously considering quitting. I mean if I am that big a POS then I'm doing you a favor walking off the job right? Plus it looks better to this other company if I don't walk off too. I should at least wait until Friday to burn the lab down.
