I just hit my daily limit of stupid GOP voters. Now I really need a smoke, but of the big fattie kind.

Big fattie zone reached, less likely to scream into the void now.
On the up side, I just finished dry canning rice & beans for the next time we're facing a GOP induced apocalypse. I now have 10 lbs of rice, 5 lbs of black beans, & 5 lbs of pinto beans sealed & canned. Good for 25 years. And I LOATHE being turned into a prepper, but smart enough to know that gotta do what I gotta do to make sure we have food. I will also be bitching nonstop this summer when I'm canning 2 acres worth of veggies.

LOL steff good on you! I have a bro update. My brother is a middle of the road guy, with a lot of conservative and redneck friends (goes to Daytona annually for roundy- round). He is also self employed in insurance (I know, but he is a good guy, really!) and as such naturally reticent with his politics. I consider that smart. I do not let my politics enter my business world AT ALL. Why alienate half your customers? He was certainly never a trumpy, but he stayed quiet. Anyway, he finally reached his trump saturation point. His fb feed is filled with the funniest anti-trump memes you'll want to see. I love it! Can't wait to talk to him and find out what cause the public dam to burst. Go Bro!

I'm finally getting some Vitamin D. the sun is at peak over my head, and the clouds are gone. I actually needed sunscreen today. XM is blasting from my phone , I have a glass of wine next to my big water bottle, and the pups are loving it out here. the wind finally died down enough that I can do paperwork out here, too. that clears a few items off my to-do list. this is fantastic. dear Mother Nature, please keep spring on order!

I tried to get through an exercise video that I used to do easily. Now I got about 90% done. I then tried to do some yoga that my local Y is FB streaming. All I can say is I done some of it! I have a spit gland that squirts me when I least expect it. It squirted and chocked me during my nap. It's like swallowing wrong. Time to go outside and read.

I had a pretty good day. I’m sewing face masks for a nursing home that has asked for them. Had to stop because my back was hurting. A friend went grocery shopping for me. She was disappointed that the store had no flowers so I left some scissors out and told her to go cut some of my daffodils. DS#2 called just to chat and catch me up on news. I miss not being able to hug my kids and grandkids, so appreciated just hearing his voice. A friend called and invited us to join them tomorrow for happy hour via zoom. The new normal.

Dubettes #1 is compartmenting her days in 2 hour segments and telling all her friends to get outside for 2 of those hours. Walk, ride a bike, find a hoop no one is using. But get exercise and fresh air.
She also has reading, housework, cooking/baking, watching tv, playing with her cat, zoom calls on the list. She lives alone and just completed a 2 week work related quarantine. Working from home has drastically shortened her work day and she needs to be busy so that there plan.

Struggling, but DH and I have been walking each evening and that helps. He is on furlough, I am essential so going to work is more stressful for me than if I were staying home.

After the last 2 weeks off work (3 8’s), first week with sick call and last week with vacation time from a canceled yoga trip to Costa Rica, Donnadub was removed from the schedule for this week. Other of the oncology nurses have been sent home because of low census, so why not the old lady(66 next month).
She will know more soon as she believes she can get an extensive accommodation now using either sick pay or vacation pay to keep the $ coming and the health insurance in place.

I hit a wall on Friday, and put in for a pair of afternoons off this coming week. Thursday afternoon is specifically to deal with my upcoming move, but tomorrow afternoon is a half sick day that I am not shy about admitting is mental health time. we saw a bit of sun yesterday afternoon, today was stunning but a little chilly, and tomorrow will hit 60 degrees and bright sun. I'm shutting down my laptop entirely after my 1030am call tomorrow, and going to the beach with the pups. they will get to swim, I will get Vitamin D *and* Sea, and just have a relatively normal fucking day. we spent today mostly outside, with a couple visitors - outside only! former roommate came to put the outdoor shower back together for me, so I can bathe the pups after tomorrow's swim. my friend M also came by, nobody was ever closer than 10' apart. I think we all needed it today. last week was just brutal with the shitty weather and not being able to spend much time outside. hugs to all of you

Since we have both been retired for many years, we are doing fine...pretty normal except I was scheduled for shot in my back to relieve my pain...it got cancelled & some days are pitiful for me getting around. DH is helping some, but I have to ask him every time...that gets old.
Tonight will be ibuprofen cause last night I was up/down all night with pain...changing positions.

This will ge a trying time for relationships. Do things you both like doing together. Give each other their space when space and solitude needed.

Find a private space. I go to my bedroom and watch stuff on my computer or go outside and read. The bathroom is usually private space. Ask to be alone there and do some reading, interneting, long bath.

I am not nearly as snappy and snarly with H. It was not constant but once in a while. We snip back and forth. It's best if one of us just shuts up.
We are retired and used to being cooped up when the weather was bad. Edit. The TV is off. Saturation on the infinite loop of the same news. We can get movies, et al.

I got a dose of giggling grandson video from DD1 this morning. He's so ridiculously happy (he's eating, of course) that you can't help smiling. I just wish I could send it to my parents - they are so resistant to computers that they don't have email (despite now having internet, because cable is cheaper bundled with it). I can't even send it to my sis to show them (lives near them), because she's keeping herself away for 3 weeks after having to fit all her agents with n95 masks last week.

Not a good day.
Confirmed case at my kiddo's work. Confirmed case at my hubby's work. Hubby's plant is shutting down for 2 days to clean & then will reopen. An employee at a different plant for hubby's company has died from it.
The fear of living with 2 essential employees is enormous. And now it's pretty much at the doorstep for both my kiddo & my hubby.

So Ontario is in a state of emergency until at least May 22 And ISO has a bad UTI on top of his normal health issues. The weather is crappy. It's a down day. So does dj's gf know about his wife? Or vice versa?

It hasn't been a real good week here, but it FINALLY got better today!
First my kitchen sink drain clogged...it would not drain at all on Sunday. DH thinks he is going to put off fixing it for a few days until I hit the ceiling...I'll pay for the damn plumber, but I NEED it fixed, I'm not living like this...couldn't finish cleaning the kitchen from my turkey dinner last night. So his brother came out this morning (DH had back surgery about 6 wks ago & still can't do a lot) & got under our house in our 4' crawl space to find out what the problem was...well it was a grease glob...rock hard. My son & Japanese DIL was living with us a little over a year ago & since I cooked, she cleaned up every night...I'm betting she poured some grease down the drain cause I don't do that...never have, I know better. In the mean time this morning, DH had also called the septic guy in case our tank needed pumped. He wanted to know if I wanted to cancel that since they fixed my clogged problem...no, do it now & we won't have to worry about it later. Darn good thing...it was close to the top & needed it. Same guy pumped it that had installed it. He cleaned the filters and inspected it & it's still in great shape....so that's another worry we won't have for about 10 yrs. or so.
And so far today...my fever & chills I had all week haven't come back!
Steff, do you have any chill pills or a bottle of wine? Sounds like you could use both. Hope things start going better!

I set a target of 700 live cases in my home county before I send everyone home. 2 weeks ago, the number of live cases was 73. it got as high as 90, and is now back to 80. I think we are going to make it through this without having to quarantine everyone.
so, that is .... surprising?
