Another article yesterday about the renewed assault on SS disability which mentioned what happened when Reagan did it in the early 80’s.
For some reason the Christian Repo-Cons don’t want poor people to eat, have access to healthcare, or for disabled people to have any income so they can meet some of their basic needs. They simply hate poor Black, White and Hispanic Americans. I guess Jesus doesn’t save after all.

For some reason the Christian Repo-Cons don’t want poor people to eat, have access to healthcare, or for disabled people to have any income so they can meet some of their basic needs. They simply hate poor Black, White and Hispanic Americans. I guess Jesus doesn’t save after all. Certain Christian Repo-Cons think God rewards the righteous, so poor people must therefore be unGodly people. Aiding unGodly people only allows them to continue their devilish lifestyles; they must be punished through hard work and privation until they give up their Godlessness. A corollary to that belief is the one where Jesus was a red haired white guy and white people are Gods people, which is why it doesn't much matter what happen to 'those' people from shit hole countries, because they don't matter to God. This is the traditional southern version of Christianity, especially, since you needed a way to overlook the treatment of the slaves. Makes it really easy to ignore people living under bridges or kids caged at the border, when your version of religion considers those people to be unloved by God. Goes against everything I was taught about Christianity, but what do I know. |
