The Time list came out, and it's the usual cast of suspects, the president, the past president, present and former first ladies, business men, blah blah blah
Who do you admire?
I'm going to start with Mark Rober. He's a former NASA engineer who is now a You-tuber and presents science in a fun way to the masses. He also came up with the GPS enabled fart/glitter bomb package to punish porch pirates.

Queen Elizabeth. Sure, she's a queen and has done that part well through many decades. But she also is a mother, and it is obvious that she loves her kids no matter how much they embarrass her at times.

Neil Degrasse Tyson. He explains complex concepts in an easy to understand way. He is amazing and super smart too.

Former President Obama, each thing President Trump does, makes me appreciate him more and more. A wonderful man and president.

My mom's youngest sister. She was 9 years younger than my mom and 13 years older than me. She was kind, sweet, loving, one of those people that lived their faith without hypocrisy and ramming down your throat. She was a generous person who helped those less fortunate. I could always talk to her about things I couldn't talk to my mom about.
I miss her deeply.

Nancy Pelosi. I never really noticed her before but she is the only one I see that can handle Trump at all. Because of that I looked into her biography. She's pretty impressive.

Eleanor Roosevelt.
And after giving it a heckuva lot of thought, I decided that it's mostly me that I admire. Yup. Me. I'm not rich and famous, not an intellectual giant, am not now and never will be a candidate for sainthood or even come close and probably made very little positive difference in anybody else's life. Looking back I admire me for pressing on against all odds, solving a lot of my own problems and accepting help to solve the ones I couldn't, living through times so tough that I'd reached a point where I just didn't think I could take one more breath. I admire me for surviving and earning my own personal peace.

Or is that just a coincidence.

Did you know that Eleanor Roosevelt was a very shy woman? And Eleanor Rigby, who kept her face in a jar by the door...she was a very shy woman, too. I think she was lonely because she was too shy to approach others. Now Eleanor Roosevelt faced (no pun intended) her shyness and spoke out and spoke up. Eleanor Rigby apparently wouldn't or couldn't face hers but kept her face in a jar by the door just in case. This Eleanor Rigby is six of one, half a dozen of the other

I keep my face in a jar by the door. I've visited Eleanor Rigby. I've sat and chatted with her. She is me and I am her.

Jane Goodall, Gloria Steinem, Michelle Obama, Hillary Clinton, Mona Eltahawy, Lindy West, Diane Fossey, Brute Galdikas , Ada Lovelace, Hedy Lamar, Marie Curie, Bill Nye, Fred (Mr.) Rogers, Rosalind Franklin, Buzz Aldrin, Jeff Corwin. Jack Hannah, Jim Henson.
I could probably list more if I thought about it. Those were off the top of my head.

Two I do not know or possibly do not remember, so off to google. P.S.Op asked for your most admired person!

RGB and Sandra Day O'Connor would be high on my list. It still baffles me that the first female justices were appointed after I was born. They've blazed quite a trail for those that came behind them.

The Equal Credit Opportunity Act did not come into existence until 1974. Women could finally get credit in their own name. So no surprise there were no female supreme court justices until sandra Day O'Connor until 1981..

Garry Senise for me! this year he did many, many good things for veterans and their families. Ofcourse he didn’t do it by himself but he did all this with no ulterior motive that can be seen or felt so far.

So, I have tons, but David Sedaris is one for me... he did exactly what everyone says you should do if you want to be a writer... he wrote every day and got better and better.... he's funny and poignant and overcame a lot in his life and still loves his mother and his family... Michael Pollen too... for making it easy for people to think about things in a new way... I like writers... Margaret Atwood and Louisa May Alcott... Definitely RBG! She's amazing. Hilary too... I don't always like her, but what she has accomplished in live is truly astounding. Such smart women out there.... This is a hard exercise... harder than i thought it would be when i started rambling

My husband's grandmothers. They were bad-asses before their time. DH's paternal grandmother went to college, invested on her own smartly, had a bunch of talents, and led an awesome life after DH's grandpa died.. MIL has pictures of her mom building her (mil's mom's) house at like 50.
I also have a client turned family friend that is truly amazing. Lost a few husbands, lost her only bio kid right before he graduated high school. She just gets right back up and keeps moving forward. She's kind and giving. She's active. She's a great mom. Educated, and had a good career.
Of course there's RBG and all that, but I always think of the smaller cogs in the wheel..more folks like us...even for my kids that makes more of an impact.
