Black older..{they are great supporters of Joe} but a very senior , former grunt, white guy , who like the older Black voters, am a realist , and believe Joe B has a very good chance to actually beat the incumbent {and truth to tell, that will be a chore. Incumbents always have a leg up, especially Presidential ones} When Joe wins.. {taking the clue here from a supporter of the evil one} In a way it will be similar as to when his old boss took over. Not the financial problems that had to be tackled but just as important..correcting the four years of crap left over from the past President and Administration. The good thing of our system is the new Adninistration does not take over the day after the election..there is a period they can take a breath and do some smart planning In this case, I believe Joe and his people will not get upset if Trumps stamp is on a program that is successful...like low unemployment...possible tweak it if needed but unlike the Donald's doing..attack anything that is associated with Obama, just because.. {Is the vegetable garden still intact?} There are plenty of faults that have to be corrected that his , the Donalds, stamp is on...I am thinking rejoining and supporting some of those agencies we abruptly left...make nice {and quietly apologize} to those we really p off...Hopefully with his election, the public also gave Joe a friendly House and Senate too... ---------------------------------------------------------------- www.yahoo.com/news/no-malarkey-biden-could-shock-the-pundits-and-win-215055718.html

Biden poses a question. If Biden is a safe choice for independents and former republicans that don't like Trump, will a bunch Democrats who don't like him not show up, or write someone else in? Will we convert the previous Trump voters at a rate high enough to lose some voters all together?
Isn't that what the Dems did wrong in 2016? Forced Hillary down the throats of people, thinking she was a safe candidate and taking for granted people who they thought were in the bag?

If voters on the Demo side stay home for any reason other that being near death, and Trump is re-elected, they don’t deserve a Democratic Republic anymore. The oligarchic plutocracy, or the kakistocracy will have won.

Until a third political party begins winning local, medium/major city, and state elections on a regular basis, we are stuck with the Democratic and Republican parties.

Having voted third party about 6 times already, for various reasons, this isn’t one of those times for anybody. As for a viable third party that could win? At age 67 I doubt I will see that in my lifetime. As you may remember...there were enough Nader voters in Florida to cause W. To be elected. Just imagine no $6 trillion in endless wars and no BushCo. Crash. It is vital folks vote Trump out.

I'm not looking for a third party. I am looking for the two parties we have to be less obnoxious and binary.

Personally I don't see any of the current Dem candidates as worse than Trump (I wonder what sort of candidate would be?). The main issue I see with a Biden nomination is that it'll let Trump & Co. go full attack dog on the Ukraine Burisma thing, and given how many are buying into Great Leader's paranoia now, how many more will give their glazed-eyed nods after the machine has crammed tens of millions of dollars more of propaganda down their throats?

No one has ever said it would be easy defeating a incumbent President...especially a very rich one who it seems has grown to like the job.. especially one who likes to fight from the gutter...I think Joe B. is one who can get down and dirty if needed...at times it is needed and I think in 2020 it will be needed. I doubt you will see the Donald circling Joe on the stage during debates if there are debates...not sure there will be any.

Although I agree that Sanders is problematic for the dems, there is ample evidence that the DNC manipulated the situation to give Hillary the nomination. Is that happening again? I hope not, but who the hell knows. I'm guessing if the DNC has a favorite and is working for him, they won't be dumb enough to put it in emails this time.

They will get dirty and smear the Dem candidate no matter who it is.

I agree with you, but I acknowledge that there are people who are disillusioned with the DNC for some pretty valid reasons. We can't expect them to do what you want them to because you believe that Trump is a bigger problem. If the democrats don't acknowledge their concerns, those people will opt out. It is possible. It happened in 2016. And no one expected it. If we pretend like it won't happen again and sweep those people's concerns under the rug, then we get what we deserve.
