It looks more like some SUV/hybrid than a truck. I wouldn't buy it because I think it's ugly, and because I use my truck for hauling things taller than a foot or two (and from the photos, it looks like a hatchback or something that raises rather than an open bed).

I was intrigued until I saw it. Wow that is an ugly vehicle. Is there even a truck bed or is it just for towing?

I found another article, looks like it does have a bed, but the 500 mile version costs about $70k. Otherwise you're looking at 250 miles for the $40k model.

Kinda looks like an El Camino.
Spending 70k on a pickup truck isn't out of the question. When you add all the bells and whistles to the seemingly reasonable base models, you can get over 60k fast. Tesla cars are pretty sweet, so it isn't like 70k will get you something that feels basic. Plus you will save 5k on gas every year.
I was also told they have less maintenance because there aren't as many belts and hoses and moving parts. That wasn't the most reliable source.

I've been shopping for a 4WD truck and the bed length issue is driving me crazy. Many of the 2019 models I find have 5' beds. I want something I can put a camper shell on and sleep in, and I am not a dwarf... And, those huge cab/short bed trucks look incredibly stupid and make me wonder why someone didn't just buy an SUV and skip the tiny bed altogether. #firstworldproblems

There are quite a few Teslas in the parking lot of my company. I'll report back if I actually see one of those ugly things show up here...

Those go over the tailgate.

Ugly as hell. I think it looks interesting. Would I buy it? Hell, no! Why do I need an armoured truck? Would I take it if it was given to me? You bet!

Using an electric vehicle makes sense where I live. Our electricity is not generated by coal-fired power plants. It's generated by water.

That is beyond fugly. It looks like a Delorean ate a tank for breakfast and forgot to barf. Or something your kid brother would build if he had nothing else to play with except the soda cans from the recycle bin. Seriously, there aren't enough craptacular cars and trucks out there already?

A 5 foot bed is almost useless. ODS moved into an unfurnished apartment for this school year. I gave him some extra furniture from home, including a spare full size mattress and box spring — both of which were too long to fit flat in the bed of his truck. What good is a truck bed that can’t even fit cargo as common as a mattress??

DH also said it reminded him of a Delorean. I asked if the ugliness was enough to turn him off what might otherwise be an awesome car and he said it was not. I don't see it in our future, but I do like that Tesla prices are becoming more competitive.

No, hubs doesn't want my truck because its not a long bed. He wants a plain truck, well, not totally wants power windows, power seat, Sirius radio, but an 8 ft bed, just a bench seat. We saw one at the local dealership was $37k or something. I told him sell his truck and they are giving extra money off and buy it. But he can't let go, his is a 2006 Lincoln with at least 140k to 150k miles on it and still going strong. Don't think the thing even uses any oil. Only major expense was the fancy plugs in it he ended up having done at the dealership, $600 or something. If you break one off they drop down into the engine and then major issues, they are some kind of 2 part plug, so on that one took it in.
I'm not giving $70k for a vehicle, will buy used lease return in the future most likely. $35k sounded like a lot and still does.

We’ve run into the same problem. I'm going to move in my truck from my mom's house to my new house 700 miles away. Trying to do that with a 5 foot bed looks completely impossible. I'd ideally like an "access" cab where there's room behind the seats but not full backseats. I have a lab and a smaller dog. The behind the seat area would be enough for the smaller dog and my lab sits fine on a front seat. Eventually I will only have one smaller dog to accommodate. I've seen plenty of 70K options, but the challenge will be finding one about half that price. I am NOT spending the same amount on a vehicle as I plan to spend on my next house. That's insane. Especially since I only put about 5K miles on my vehicles a year.... Well, more next year as it's adventure year for me.

I think I read the truck bed is 6 1/2 feet.
DH is actually serious that he would consider it an option, or he is really good at calling my bluff to put a deposit down. Maybe he just likes the thought of putting off car shopping for another 2 years.
I'm trying to imagine how HOAs are going to react to these. I know a couple people who get grief from neighbors for their regular monster trucks.
