Just for fun, what are some realistic purchases you hope to make in the next year. Here are mine, if I had to guess I would try to make these purchases within the next 3 months. Maybe someone in my family will take the hint and buy them for me Short Term: Apple Watch 5: Everyone loves their Apple Watch, but the only thing that's held me back is all the reasons they give don't seem super compelling (don't have to look at phone, can get notifications, etc). I know I'd love it once I got it though, so I need to just pull the trigger. Airpod Pros: I have regular Airpods that are not noise cancelling. I find myself having to crank the volume when I'm in a crowded area, so I'd rather just have noise cancelling. I think this would be somewhat easy for me to justify for the sake of ear health I was in the Apple store yesterday and tried on some noise cancelling headphones and I was totally blown away by how much they drown everything out. Squat Cage/Weights: I have an ok home gym setup with a weight set, treadmill, dumbells, etc, but I want to upgrade. I'd probably want to spend around $600. Again, this is something I could easily justify because I use it a lot but need to give myself a push and just do it.

I plan to buy new phones. I have a hard time making a decision, I almost did this in July, but then decided to wait for Black Friday. Chances are I will get overwhelmed again and make no decision.
I am interested in an Apple Watch too.
I am strongly considering buying a new side by side refrigerator. If I do this I may also buy a new dishwasher. I like my stove, I would be black and the other appliances are Slate Black...but I am considering putting off the stove replacement of the stove. Will decide after I go to Home Depot and Lowes.
I also have decided I want a new car. The car I am driving has a lot of life left in it, but it was purchased for DH and it is a bit big for me. I want a CRV sized SUV with a heated steering Wheel. I haven't told DH yet, but think I will buy a new car in December.
Looks like we may go to Mexico in December. DH said he would go without me if I say no. BTW, my passport is good until July 9, 2020. If we plan to leave by December 27/28 and return before Jan 7th, I should be fine to renew it after our trip right? Hopefully one of our members that travels a lot knows, I have heard if it expires within 6 months , you can have problems?

The big one for me is a new couch. The current one is pretty worn and hasn't matched anything since we moved into this house 5 years ago. That purchase will be before May because we have people visiting in May.
In the next month I need a new Roku, because one of mine isn't supported anymore.
Dh is pushing for a new truck, but since we don't need one, that purchase is up in the air.

Either a She Shed or an enclosed four-season porch would do it for me. Neither is likely to happen, but I can dream.
A shiny new car--not new-to-me, new--would be nice.

A smaller table for our patio. Then decide whether to have pull down shades or a large umbrella to block the AZ sun. I asked for front yard decorations. I have settled on quails. The neighborhood is so enamored with them. The stucco painted when it's dry.

A new LR chair. We have a Laz-y-Boy one that the stuffing is compressed and has shifted. It looks terrible. DH says he’s going to replace the stuffing, but he’s been saying that for months and I’m tired of waiting.
A new used truck for DH. His is a 2004 Ford that is starting to nickel and dime us, it makes a lot of rattling noise, and looks ratty. I’d like to get him something that is about 2014 or newer, 4 door with a short bed. He prefers the short bed as he doesn’t usually have to haul a ton of stuff and carries 2 or 3 grandkids around so needs (read wants) the 4 door version. I’m willing to pay up to about $20k, but haven’t seen anything I really like yet.

Probably a new iPad. Mine is not holding a charge anymore and for some reason it's not charging well. I just switched out the cords to see if the cord's the problem, but the same cord charged my phone ok.

Snow blower - Within the next two weeks. I have a very old single stage snow blower which probably works fine but I can't do the maintenance on it. I also have an fairly new excellent 2-stage snow blower which is too big for me to handle. I'm going to give it to a friend. So I'm going to buy a powerful single stage snow blower which I handle. Recliner - The recliner I usually used was in bad shape and we took it to the when we were cleaning out Mom's house in Oct 2017. We temporarily put a rocking lawn chair in my spot in the living room while we shopped for a new recliner. But that winter was cold and my sweetie passed away in Apr 2018 and I still don't have a replacement. I'm determined to get a replacement this winter.
Furnace and air conditioner - My air conditioner and furnace are at least 40 years old. I had the insulation in my attic replaced last winter, so it's now time to a more efficient furnace and air conditioner. I'll schedule that for the spring.

The purchase of a new car has occupied my thoughts off an on for the past year. I was just going to go ahead and do it this month but talked myself out of it again. There's nothing wrong with the car I have. It's 9 years old but only has 43,000 miles on it, so I think I'll wait another year. I want to get the new safety features (cameras, rear cross-traffic alarm, pedestrian braking, blind spot alarm, things like that) because I think those technologies will enable me to continue to drive safely and remain independent as I get older, so I want to start getting used to them now while I'm just beginning to be an old person. That way, when I am a very old person, it will be familiar and part of the normal driving experience.
Still need to get the master bathroom and kitchen/laundry room/powder room remodeled. I've been putting that off out of laziness. The thought of all the disruption and turmoil that will involve just makes me want to take a nap. I would like to do that this year, though. I probably won't. But I might.

Apple Watch for my wife and a Roku sound bar for me/family - both will probably be Christmas gifts.
We also want to get a puppy for the kids but we’ll probably wait until warm weather is back.

I have so many things, but I guess I should start with new flooring. DH took a toll on it when he was so sick, and the dog did her share. I was going to try to wait until the dog is no longer with me, but I just can't. I am embarrassed to have anyone over.
Next is a new sofa. We gave ours away in order to rearrange the living room for DH's safety. It wasn't a huge loss since it was at least 12 or 13 years old.
Finally, a new bed for the guest room. I gave mine away in order to make room for a hospital bed in the master bedroom. Now that was a loss since it was only about a year old. Still, I never was a fan of a queen size bed in the guest room. There simply isn't enough room. So I moved DH's queen, which was only a few years old as well, into the master bedroom. I will buy a double for the guest room.
If I still have any money left, I am thinking of getting some type of smart phone when my sister is here next summer. I need her help in picking it out and learning how to use it.

A new desk and a new book shelf. We bought ours when I was still in college. While they are still standing they weren't exactly quality and are rather large. I'd like something sleeker and better built.

I want a solar charger for my cell phone and Fire. That may go on my Xmas wish list where it will make up 100% of items I would like to have that I can come up with...

I should say nothing, since we are finishing up a new kitchen, new flooring, new sliding door, new front door and door to garage. Oh, and new lighting and paint. But, since it is a wish list. I would have to add a new driveway since ours is crumbling.

I still haven’t replaced my totaled car and I’m very focused on an AWD 2016 Jaguar F-Type, going to wait until next spring and drive the truck through the winter, but if the right deal comes along...

I broke the screen on mine right after I bought it 2 years ago. I've probably dropped it another 2 dozen times since. The last few months it has randomly quit recognizing the sim card and dropping service. I need a new phone, but the camera on this one is good and I don't want to pay $600 for a comparable camera. Hopefully black Friday will make pulling the trigger easier. We also need a new car but DH and I hate car shopping. He wants to wait for year end clear out deals. I feel like car deals are an illusion and we will pay more than we intend no matter how long we wait. I'm thinking Fire TV Stick and an air fryer should be easy to pick up black Friday.

1. A house in BFE Oregon. 2. A 4WD truck with a camper shell. 3. The camping gear I don't have and a new/better pair of hiking boots that aren't so heavy. 4. A new set of cookware and some baking pans. 5. A heated recliner that I like from Amazon that a relative had. 6. The cordless drill/driver I am buying next week so I can take my platform bed apart and take it with me. 7. Hundreds of gallons of gas to enjoy purchase #2 and find purchase #1.

Probably a new iPad. Mine is not holding a charge anymore and for some reason it's not charging well. I just switched out the cords to see if the cord's the problem, but the same cord charged my phone ok. Have you tried getting the battery replaced? DH ran into that with his iPhone not holding a charge. He got the battery replaced and his problem was fixed.

We’ve decided to buy DH a new Mac (laptop) and I will get his desktop to replace mine. I want (but don’t need) new Briggs & Riley luggage We’ve decided to put up a carport for the new 5th wheel on the vacant lot we bought adjacent to us. I want to build a gazebo there to sit in during playdates. We fenced the lot last year and made it into a large dog park. I also want to buy an outdoor heater for it.

On our reasonable wants list: 1. Layla mattress and new bed frame - I'm 38 years old, it's time I have something beyond the basic metal frame.
2. Bike components - my husband was given the frame and wheels of a womens road bike. I just need a seat, new handlebar, and brakes.
3. Slipcover or new side chair - cats destroyed the arms. It's only three years old so I don't want to toss it, though it's kind of hard to find a slipcover I like. The search continues.
4. New area rug for dining room - I'm tired of husband complaining it doesn't match. It doesn't; I originally was going for a golden yellow theme with touches but we ended up buying colorful chairs for the dining room table and do now it's just pattern everywhere. Old area rug will move to our bedroom.
5. New TV - we don't need one, but man, even I'm noticing there's a few extra inches in the space we have the TV.
We're going to Aruba in May and the airfare, Airbnb, and resort (we're staying at a couple of different locations) are all paid for, so the only thing left is to go and have fun! One of my three checks months in 2020 is April so that will cover a good portion of vacation fun money.

Nothing, really. I've been buffeted by "Buy, buy, buy" messages all morning, first perusing the catalogue of a very good jewelry store where I've shopped before (yeah, those $49,000 bracelets sure are pretty), then the in-flight magazine from MCI to DFW (special leather bags for carrying your doggie, complete with air holes, more jewelry, brand-name bags) and now in the section of DFW where the international flights depart although I'm "only" going to Hawaii. Luggage. Expensive whiskies. Perfume. Makeup.
Very freeing not to want anything although I may pick up a gold charm from Hawaii for my bracelet.. Cheap (as gold jewelry goes) and doesn't take up much space in the luggage.

I had that done a few years ago. A full charge, which new would last me 10 hours now lasts about 3. Despite being on the charger all night, I never got more than a 90% charge.

My DH just bought a new laptop on Sunday, otherwise that would be on the list.
A new kitchen. It's been a long time coming. It was planned since we bought this house 12 years ago. Now that we're finally moving forward, I can't find decent, affordable cabinets any more. The trend seems to be towards cheap (pieced together from wood fragments), painted crap.
I've started browsing for a new minivan, now that both vehicles are paid off and the current van is approaching 130k miles. I take a long time to shop for big ticket items, so I doubt this will be purchased within the next year.
A cello for my 7 year old. He really wants one, I love musical instruments, but it would come with ongoing costs for lessons, since I know nothing about playing the cello, and we'll probably have to get my 9 year old an instrument, too, in order to be fair. He's thinking a clarinet, but I'm not so sure about his enthusiasm. I also don't know how to play that, so more lessons. I have a flute I could start him on, which he could transition to an oboe or sax because the fingering is the same (mostly). I also wouldn't mind getting a digital piano for him, but he no longer is interested in that. There is supposedly a connection between music education and learning math. So even if they don't keep up with it forever, I'd like to give them a good start.

That explains why I don't do numbers after eight long years of piano lessons and never getting past John Thompson's First Grade Book (took two years to graduate from Teaching Little Fingers to Play).
