The posted article shows how even a good deed that benefits so many charitable causes can be done in because of individual selfishness...Personally in these cases..the individual that may be causing this disruption of a good cause should be made public..name given..in the same article used to announce the topic..let the chips fall where they may.. ====================================== "For more than two decades,Chrissie D'Esopo welcomed thousands of strangers to her property, raising some $175,000 for charity, but she has reluctantly closed her garden gate." =================== "An Avon woman fell during a July garden tour, hurt her ankle and filed an insurance claim against D'Esopo and the two nonprofits benefiting from that day's tour. She fell on a brick walkway that's flush with the grass. Despite the insurance companies' willingness to cover all the medical expenses for the woman, her husband, who wasn't on the tour, has threatened to sue for his own "pain and suffering" linked to his …." If this case is pushed and goes to trial..[if insurance company allowed that...a verdict of $1.00 might be appropriate if plaintiff won....no legal fees included..{Just saying} ============================== Connecticut , besides being a long time...seems forever for me, a Blue State...also a heavily taxed State..it also is a very enlightened State...the below MIGHT be the salvation for this owner... "Connecticut has a recreational immunity statute that covers private property owners who open their land to the public for tours as long as the owners do not profit. When D'Esopo found out about the law Friday night, she said, "Gosh that's very good to know." But she added that she would need to check it out herself before deciding whether to reconsider stopping the tours." ============================ www.courant.com/community/hartford/hc-xpm-2012-10-08-hc-avon-garden-tours-end-20121008-story.html#nt=latestnews&rt=chartbeat-flt

It sucks that things like this happen. Then you get someone who really was hurt, through no fault of their own, and the insurance either refuses to pay, or doesn't pay them what they should- much less millions of dollars.
