Yep. Trump's attempts to bully witnesses hasn't worked. Trying to call a Purple Heart recipient a spy kind of back fired.
Turning off the lights and locking the doors is one way to stop the flow of damning testimony from the committee room.

Our country's ability to function is a low priority to the current POTUS. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if there were another shutdown. But it WOULD be seriously annoying. On the positive side, if there IS another shutdown, it's close enough to the Fall 2020 election, that MAYBE folks would remember who is responsible for it.

We can all keep reminding them who did it...cause it's all on the GOP! They could have reined him in at the beginning, they chose not to so that they didn't anger their "base"...now they are stuck with the results.

The problem is, Trump and his toadies will come up with some bullshit story line to obstruct the fact that Trump needs the shut down to stop the damning drip drip drip of negative testimony.
"Dems won't give us enough cash to finish The Wall" is a reliable standard.
Then Trump will have his incompetent admin send out the talking points to all the GOP members of Congress, Sunday Fox news programs will be crowded with them shouting about how the Dems are making them shut down the government. And Trump's 30% of Fox news watchers will buy it hook, link and sinker.
He might suck at everything else, but Trump is a great marketer. He knows how to spin.

AND, that is why we ALL need to keep up the truth...in RL, not just on tv or radio....to everyone who believes DT's spin...or drop little hints that will make them think...really?, who did that again...oh yeah that was a GOPer right?

I admit that Fox wins the rating war..# of watchers daily over other cable outlets...HOWEVER... I also will say...majority of Americans seem to be doing other things then watching cable news and when u add up the #'s of all the cable stations,,,it seems there is plenty of messages getting out there to influence voters, not just the "love everything about the Donald from Fox" See below from a quick google.. "In total-day viewers, Fox News averaged 1.4 million, down 3%; MSNBC was at 880,000, down 15%; and CNN drew 624,000, down 13%. In the 25-54 demo, Fox News averaged 230,000, down 15%; CNN posted 148,000, down 31%; and MSNBC had 128,000, down 34%.Oct 1, 2019"

It's the democrats fault because they are too busy focusing on taking down our grand leader as opposed to running the country! Republicans holding a sit in while eating pizza is not the same in case you are asking! That is a mark of patriotism and if they have to shut the government to protect Dear Leader. Regular Americans will gladly welcome the shut down and hail them as true American heroes while the evil Democrats get frog marched to the guillotine.

Hot dogs are German and apple pie is British. Perhaps they should have been eating grits with sausage gravy, topped with spray cheese.

You mix your grits with runny eggs...NOT sausage gravy...that goes over your biscuits. But don't give me any grits...I wasn't raised down here & I don't like them. We had corn meal mush when I was growing up...It's like hardened grits but it gets sliced and fried in bacon grease & then you put syrup on it like a pancake.

Mush is jelled, cooked corn meal...usually in the same shape as a Velveta...you slice it & fry it in bacon grease...then use syrup on it when it's served on your plate. This recipe is close to what we used to do when I was a kid... www.tasteofhome.com/recipes/fried-cornmeal-mush/Grits are pretty much the same except they aren't allowed to jell...they are more runny. A lot of folks will cut up a couple sunny side up or easy over eggs in their grits while others just add butter and some times cheese is added. I don't like grits. Think I only liked the mush due to the syrup that made it sweet.

I had cornmeal muffins in the US, and those were pretty good. Can't find that here.

It may have originated somewhere else, but it's a symbol of America here.

Grits? Stir in some cheeses and serve with spicy shrimp.
Polenta? Add some herbs for building flavor. Spread into a flat pan and cool. Then cut pieces and grill or griddle with olive oil until a bit of crispy develops. Top with grated Parmesan.
