Don't thank me...thank your buddy SCP who posted a thread & then evidently deleted it due to it not being accurate. He was taking dumb radio host's word for it....you know, Rush!
I don't have a link cause I don't follow Rush, but what SCP quoted was that Senators could NOT campaign...I was just proving that they can...it will just be limited by the distances they would have to travel.

Just had another thought....and I'm not going to research it, someone else can do that....
If the trial starts in the Senate in early to mid Dec., will they be able to break for Christmas or will they have to stay in DC most of every week until the conclusion?

I tend to look at the US Constitution on such issues: 2: Each House may determine the Rules of its Proceedings, ... link

My PSA for the day. And btw, it only says that each house of Congress makes their own rules.

The senate will vote on the rules for any impeachment process. The speculation above assumes that they will use the same rules as Clinton impeachment. They will likely vote on new rules, but based on a Republican majority, are unlikely to favor any Democrats running for president.

Since it takes 67 votes to change the rules...doubt they will get changed. They may however, get "defined" differently than how they were defined in the past...think that can get done...but not completely sure.
