What is wrong with trump/White House. It's not as if Anne Sacoolas saved the Dunn's son some way from certain death or donated a kidney to him where the parents would be ever thankful to meet Sacoolas and thank her. The Dunns declined the meeting. Parents of killed British teen accuse White House of ambushing them with accused killerThe parents of a British teenager allegedly killed in a motorcycle accident by the American wife of a U.S. official are accusing the White House of trying to ambush them with a forced meeting with the woman in the Oval Office on Tuesday. Harry Dunn, 19, was riding his motorcycle when police say Anne Sacoolas, the wife of a U.S. official stationed nearby, struck him in her car while driving on the wrong side of the road back in August. Sacoolas claimed diplomatic immunity and left the country shortly after. Dunn’s parents, as well as the British government, have embarked on a public pressure campaign, lobbying President Donald Trump to waive Sacoolas’ immunity and allow her to face charges in the U.K. Charlotte Charles and Tim Dunn, Harry Dunn’s parents, have been in the U.S. over the past few days, which is when a spokesman for the family says they received a sudden invitation to meet with Trump at the White House. But in a statement on a crowdfunding page for Harry’s cause, spokesman Radd Seiger castigated the White House for attempting to spring a surprise meeting between the Dunns and Sacoolas in front of the press. “The family had four surprises yesterday,” Seiger said in the statement, calling the initial invitation to the White House “out of the blue” and adding that the family had no idea Trump would meet with them personally. But, he continued, they were unaware that Sacoolas would even be in the building. “It was the President’s intention for Harry’s family to meet Mrs Sacoolas in the Oval Office in front of several photographers in what [was] obviously designed to be a press call,” Seiger said. Did Trump really think the Brit family would be so excited to meet him they would gladly forgive the diplomat's wife for killing their son?
Happy family photos with everyone grinning?
This reminds me of Trump's visit after one of those gun massacres (can't remember which one) and Trump and Melania grinning like jackals while holding a baby who lost his family members in the shooting.
Zero empathy. Not only Trump, but everyone on his staff is without empathy (or without the guts to stand up to Trump).

Meh, I don't necessarily think she should be sent back to the UK to face charges. They want to persecute the woman that killed their son, but it was an Accident. They are the ones seeking publicity, but they want it on their terms.

They want justice. She should go back and face the charges - this would be manslaughter, and unless she was drunk or high at the time (I haven't heard that she was) she would no doubt get a light sentence. That would be the right thing to do. Not try to weasel out on diplomatic immunity.

I don't even think it's a crime, other than a traffic ticket, unless he was impaired. It's a civil suit.

Maybe criminal negligent homicide, but not murder, not manslaughter. Unless she made some statement that she intended to kill him, or didn't care if she hurt someone. People commit traffic offenses all the time that result in deaths, but it's not a crime.

If you don't know how to drive in a different country....don't.
Criminal negligent homicide sounds about right, but she shouldn't get off scott-free. She killed a young man due to her negligence.

What kind of justice is that? She accidentally killed someone and because she's the wife of a diplomat - everyone just shrugs their shoulders and says 'oh well, too bad, can't do anything'. I'm sure the young man's family wants justice. Even if it's a matter of tickets being written, fines being paid, and an apology - acknowledgement that something terrible was done.
