According to the posted [below] article....he was not let go...left on his own...supposedly had had it with the trend of where Fox is ...regarding the Donald.. His 3 PM show was one of the lowest seen of the networks shows..Which indicates so many just want to hear comments that the listener approves of...less interest in difference of opinions...[real sad there] Yet due to strength of the network...he still was watched by many...I am sure the Donald is happy...the man was not one of his favorites...had dissed him in the past. Man was earning between ten and fifteen million per year and supposedly a net worth of $25 million...so hurting financially he will not be... Shows money isn't everything for some...integrity is for many...Just Saying. ===================== "With President Trump actively distorting the truth and many of his own colleagues helping him do it, the Fox News star prided himself on anchoring a newscast that countered the network's pro-Trump opinion shows.
The way Smith saw it, he was making sure that accurate information was getting on Fox's air.
"I wonder," he told a Time magazine reporter last year, "if I stopped delivering the facts, what would go in its place in this place that is most watched, most listened, most viewed, most trusted? I don't know."======================================= www.cnn.com/2019/10/11/media/fox-news-shepard-smith/index.html

Interesting that not one response or comment out of 70 plus something readers...guess this is a very, very left leaning source... Actually I was not knowleged as to who Smith is and his position....I never watch Fox for the most part...though I did turn it on as I fell asleep last night for some reason.....I woke up, I believe at 3 AM, TV was on......just as the host of that time spot..was going off...he had a guest ...big, big face and mouth ...who was going off on everything Democratic and all the players...bla, bla, bla….shut off and fell asleep.... ===================================== www.yahoo.com/news/fox-news-air-hosts-loss-011122087.html

He is a legit journalist, I think once his non-compete is up there will be a race to sign him.
I understand he beat CNN and MSNBC for his time slot.

He and Chris Wallace are the only two prominent Fox reporters who have any rational sense about them. We often watch Shepard Smith and Chris Wallace to help keep us (as moderate liberals) as informed as possible. It's unfortunate that Smith is leaving, though I can understand why he had to choose between his paycheck and his integrity.
