Spellbound....I can't quote your post due to not having "quote" in the first box. Anyway, the facility hold all the ISIS has been hit, it was hit late last night or at least that's when I saw the report about it...so most likely many are running loose. Saw this while ago about DT's rally in La. last night.... In that case, then DT should get rid of all his international holdings or contracts or agreements & not be doing business in other countries at all. AND, doing what he has done...leaving the Kurds to be slaughtered...is NOT in our best long run interests. What are he & others going to do when no allies will come to our assistance as the ISIS & other terrorists start coming into the US? Most won't want to help us due to not being trustworthy...DT doesn't honor treaties or agreements. AND, on another note...we, the US, hasn't paid our bill to the UN either. ETA...forgot the link to the rally last night quote... www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/trumps-supporters-back-his-decision-to-pull-out-of-northern-syria/ar-AAIEy9G?li=BBnbcA1

“I am not president of the world. I am president of the United States of America,” Trump said. “We reject globalism. We embrace patriotism.”
...and yet, he's sending a large number of forces to Saudi Arabia.

What has the US promised they would do if Turkey did not comply? Ruin their economy as trump said he could do? trump might be able to ruin the economy of Palau but that's about it. Trump isn't doing jack shit, and HE'S the one who caused it. However, VB wants NATO countries to act, even though they're not the ones who threw the allies under the bus. VB doesn't care what NATO does or doesn't do about this situation. President Trump is facing criticism and thus it is necessary to criticize others.

nationalists eschew internationalism.
it is not a good way forward for the US, just as it was not a good way forward for Germany 80 years ago.

The only place you see anything about Syria is here on this board, where some one scours the internet for little bits and pieces.

I have not been on the board lately, and I have scrolled through this thread fairly fast. 104 posts so far. Nary a mention of NATO getting involved. The only mention of NATO is that the U.S. and Turkey belong to NATO. Why is no one up in arms that any NATO country has not demanded Turkey stop this attack? Surely the Kurds have not declared war on Turkey, and yet not one nation has tried to stop this illegal attack, by a Nato member verbally or physically. Verbally being if Turkey does not stop immediately the Nato countries of Europe will physically intervene. Please remember Europe refuses to take back ISIS fighters being held prisoner in Syria who are citizens of the various European countries. They expect the U.S. to keep them imprisoned and pay the bill. Where is Great Britain Germany France Italy and other smaller countries on the issue at hand? Let them play Warden in the M.E. for a few decades. EU members are also members of NATO. From October 9, 2019. EU urges Turkey to halt Syria invasion, will not pay for ‘safe zone’Tennesseer, ty. I was not under the impression the European Union controls NATO for all the original members of the organization. I thought the NATO Treaty was with specific countries rather than the E.U. which I thought was an economic political union. I guess I was incorrect.

VB doesn't care what NATO does or doesn't do about this situation. President Trump is facing criticism and thus it is necessary to criticize others. Bills, I am surprised you say this about me...... I do care. I am disappointed Trump did this. I am not happy about this. I do care that NATO unfortunately as a whole let's America run the show over there. If Nato countries in Europe want to stop Turkey let them do it. If Nato as a whole has the ability to force the U.S. to do the right thing, as in our posters here suggest they want the U.S. TO STAY THERE, I fully support they force the issue with Trump. Not next week, not Monday morning. More like Friday of the last week. I did complain in a post about Europe not wanting their ISIS fighters in prison there released to come back home and expected us to deal with them. Let those countries buy their own Guantanamo and deal with them. And the countries of Europe can immediately send troops and planes and enforce a no fly zone in northern Syria. Why they have not already done this is beyond me. I, like you served in Vietnam and we all know what a waste of human bodies that place was. Let's stop doing this shit.

It was never a NATO operation It was a coalition of countries coming together to formulate a plan to stem ISIS ..... Led by the US but involving many countries that aren't even in NATO
The UK never agreed to go in to Syria at all .... we contributed by fighting ISIS in Northern Iraq. Who said the US had to deal with European ISIS fighters? They are held by the Kurds in various detention centres and Yes they have been stripped of citizenship from many countries.

Right now you have one rogue NATO member in the form of Turkey. Two if everyone wants to blame Trump. And the fact is many of the ISIS prisoners are from Europe and Europe wants them left there.

Boats and their crews head to safe ports to escape injury and death. Kurds had no other choice if they want to stay alive. trump left them no choice. Rather twisted logic on your part.

I actually called it earlier in the thread, cozying up to the Russians (through Assad) was the likely outcome. How can anyone fault them for it, it’s survival.

Well while we don't want to help brown people they should at least honor our American values and die a noble death rather than cozy up to Assad. What did people think would happen if it's between you and genocide?

I can just imagine how embarrassed the Eisenhower through HW administrations would be by the US being totally outplayed by Putin’s Russia. He has played Trump like a fiddle.
