I am trying to find a detail online of the # of soldiers from other countries, other than the US. Does anyone have that? I am confused by the outrage over this pullout by the left. If we want to reduce our military spending (a huge battle cry I hear) then we have to start reducing the military and stop being the world's police. I'm not saying I am for or against this, either. I have yet to make that decision. I will say I am tired of fighting around the world. I hope you and others voice your concern to the White House. White House phone number is (202) 456-1111. Write or Call the White HouseU.S. to deploy large number of forces to Saudi ArabiaWASHINGTON, Oct 11 (Reuters) - The United States announced on Friday a new, large deployment of forces to Saudi Arabia to help bolster the kingdom's defenses following the Sept. 14 attack on its oil facilities, which Washington and Riyadh have blamed on Iran. The planned deployment, which was first reported by Reuters, will include fighter squadrons, one air expeditionary wing and air defense personnel, the Pentagon said. The Pentagon said it was sending two additional Patriot batteries and one Terminal High Altitude Area Defense system (THAAD). "Taken together with other deployments, this constitutes an additional 3,000 forces that have been extended or authorized within the last month," Pentagon spokesman Jonathan Hoffman said in a statement. U.S. to deploy large number of forces to Saudi Arabia
Did the Saudis fight with the US in Normandy? They most certainly did not. That was Trump's insane reason to withdraw from Syria.

Trump's good buddy, Erdogan, is bombing the shit out of Kurdish civilians. They're fleeing by the tens of thousands, but have nowhere to go.

Oops, it looks like the Turks found WPC 12 US soldiers...
"U.S. special forces based in Syria have been caught in Turkish artillery fire, according to Newsweek. It remains unclear whether there were any other casualties.
The contingent of U.S. troops was operating in the Kurdish-dominated city of Kobani in northeastern Syria when they were hit by shelling from Turkey’s military, which is currently invading the region.
A senior Pentagon official confirmed the incident, saying Turkish forces should have precise knowledge of American positions.
Earlier on Friday Defense Secretary Mark Esper told reporters that a small number of special forces had been moved back from the Syrian border with Turkey in advance of the Turkish incursion into Kurdish territory. President Trump was met with bipartisan criticism when he announced the move on Monday as prominent lawmakers and pundits interpreted the development as an indication that the U.S. had signed off on the invasion...."
www.yahoo.com/news/turkey-bombs-u-special-forces-200210098.html
And despite my rather flippant introduction, it hurts that the man on the golden throne is so indifferent to human suffering that he invited this to happen.

I heard once, "That which you protect, you can also exploit." OK, what are we going to"EXPLOIT" out of Syria? Oil?? this is going to be a hundred year war.
We wish to influence world events to our advantage. It is far easier to do it with our fingers in everything than attempting to step in from the sidelines only when it is critical.

Sorry, I should have used the sarcasm emoticon. I was quoting the dumbass. I totally agree that they didn't sign up to be bombed by an ally. Trump reportedly tells the widow of a US soldier killed in action, 'He knew what he signed up for' www.businessinsider.com/trump-he-knew-what-he-signed-up-for-ladavid-johnson-niger-attack-2017-10

U.S. to deploy large number of forces to Saudi Arabia
But WHY? After all, the Saudis didn't help you in Normandy during WW2. Wasn't that the asshole in chief's reason to stop helping the Kurds? With American forces gone, Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stepped through that door Wednesday, launching a military offensive across its border. By way of explanation, Trump defended his reasoning for pulling the plug on American support for the Kurds, saying: “ They didn’t help us with Normandy.”slate.com/news-and-politics/2019/10/what-trump-means-kurds-didnt-help-us-with-normandy-explained.html

I have not been on the board lately, and I have scrolled through this thread fairly fast. 104 posts so far. Nary a mention of NATO getting involved. The only mention of NATO is that the U.S. and Turkey belong to NATO. Why is no one up in arms that any NATO country has not demanded Turkey stop this attack? Surely the Kurds have not declared war on Turkey, and yet not one nation has tried to stop this illegal attack, by a Nato member verbally or physically. Verbally being if Turkey does not stop immediately the Nato countries of Europe will physically intervene. Please remember Europe refuses to take back ISIS fighters being held prisoner in Syria who are citizens of the various European countries. They expect the U.S. to keep them imprisoned and pay the bill. Where is Great Britain Germany France Italy and other smaller countries on the issue at hand? Let them play Warden in the M.E. for a few decades.

YOU ASKED WHY NO NATO COUNTRY DEMANDED THAT TURKEY STOP THE ATTACKS. What will be your next question? Why haven't any NATO countries taken Erdogan into custody and condemned him to death by hanging?

[/div] Oil ... the Saudis have a huge gap in their defenses ... as we saw when the Saudis had their oil production halted with drone and cruise missile attacks. The US are there to plug the gap. The Kurds have no use now .... although they are holding thousands of ISIS jihadis You can guess where those fellas are heading when they are broken out of jail

However, VB wants NATO countries to act, even though they're not the ones who threw the allies under the bus.
