This thread's for the car people. We picked up a '17 Camaro ZL1 back in October of 2017 (bought it off the showroom- but used- 251 miles) and now they've come out with this thing. Had we waited, this would have been the car. But now, I don't want to get rid of the ZL1, so we might need this car-- and a garage. We're looking at land for a shop...

A 4 post lift would be less expensive than another garage. A few of our neighborhood car guys and girls have them (when their 4 car garages don’t have enough room for the toys).

One of my best friends is a European car snob that wouldn't dream of driving an American made car and even he said this is a thing is a beauty with ridiculous performance and a crazy low price compared to other vehicles of its stature.
GM hit a home run with this one.

Being in Michigan, I have had the opportunity to see several of these up close and personal (including one car carrier full of them) and I must say that they look even better in real life. I doubt the price point will stay that low for long and I have heard all off the 2020 production is sold out. I’d love to have one, but I can’t help but think how much I will be able to save on a 2018 ZR1 once these hit the road...

Don't know... we have a four car garage, and, well, husband is looking at putting a couple of lifts in. Never enough room for a car guy.
C8 looks interesting though. ETA: I was at the Chevy dealership the other day (some maintenance on my daily driver) and asked about these. I was told "pre-production" was already sold out, and regular production won't be seen at dealerships until 2020.

My favorite neighborhood car guy has an attached three car garage. And an oversized detached double garage. Both sides of the detached garage and at least one bay of the attached garage have lifts. Gives the rest of us something to aspire to.

So, we got to see it up close at the Kennedy Space Center unveiling... Looks like about $85K for the way I'd want it-- convertible for sure.

Does it remind anyone else here a bit of the Batmobile? Yes, this is one nice car.
We had a car collector in our old neighborhood who lived on an over-sized lot, and he modified his house so he had a 6-car garage. Attached to the house.

Beautiful car, we could make room, we have 9 bays of garages, maybe hubs could move his tractor out. Or we could do a roof over between the 2, he has talked about it. However, I doubt I could afford the car! And even if I could, probably couldn't get in and out of it.

Problem is, like me and my wife, once you are in it, it is freaking hard to get the heck out!

Yeah, to durn old. I am having trouble getting into my truck and out, have to step on the running board and pull myself in most of the time and get out the same way. Not sure how much longer I can do so. I think a different vehicle will be in my future and a long way from getting another, the next one is for hubs.

When GM announced they were discontinuing Pontiacs, I went to the dealership in anticipation of buying a Firebird. I wanted one in the worst way for years, but with kids, it just was not in the cards........since the kids were grown and there would be no more Firebirds, I said this is the time. Unfortunately I sat in the driver's seat two different times, adjusting the seats, etc. It was still a small problem getting out both times......Had a bit of a gut then, today I do not, but retired I cannot afford to just pony up $85,000 to upwards of $100,000 to cruise around the neighborhood having everyone say look at that old geaser thinking he is 20 yrs old again

If I had the money I would buy one in a heart beat. I'm 76 and getting in and out wouldn't be a problem. I might just do it a tad slower. But I've never been a big car person and don't drive a "big" car now. Old age just isn't an excuse!!!! Heck I didn't own my first 4 door until 2005 and cried because it was an automatic.
But also didn't have a child during the age when you have to have a bus to fit the car seat in!! My 2 yr old was riding around in a 68 Camaro

My honey wants a Vette...but no manual transmission in the C8, so he’s thinking an older one.
