Our very tremendous, perfect, beautiful cat has brought 8 rats into our master suite in the last 6 weeks. they can't be that smart. He has also done 3 bunnies too.
Jump up on the BBQ, then the window sill to the roof. Up and over a pony wall and then jumps in the window. The critters are usually still alive.

But he does. Those are presents and toys. Then he munches them up or I use the long tongs for a quick visit to the toilet. The bunnies he has left on the rug by Donnadub's side of the bed. He may want a winter hat! Or a nice jacket.

You probably think you're smarter than a polar bear, but he'd have no trouble bringing you down. Rats are one of the very few mammals that exhibit metacognition (they can think about thinking), along with humans and some primates. They understand the concept of "I don't know". www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2007-03/cp-mfw030607.phpwww.wired.com/2014/06/do-rats-know-when-they-dont-know/

It's actually quite impressive. In lab experiments, rats were asked to push levers...Yes, No, and I Don't Know. If asked about a task they haven't learned yet, they would push I Don't Know. Certainly smarter than Trump!

If a mouse fell out of the ceiling and landed on me, I would be freaked out. The element of surprise on that one would get my heart pumping.

Certainly smarter than Trump! I don't have a link, but heard on NPR's "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me" that rats can be taught how to play Hide and Seek.

How about a rat & human game of Hide & Seek on video.

They thought it was so funny! Rats can laugh.
