While I had my phone on do not disturb I received 11 phone calls in 11 minutes from the same number. Began with 888 prefix. Obviously redialing. No message left. Found nothing when I googled number. Blocked number. I get a 'Private Caller' and no phone number listed at least three times a day, minutes apart. Fortunately, I have calls with an ID of 'Private Caller' blocked and I don't even see an announcement on my TV a call is coming in from this caller. I only know they called because my phone provider has a list on their website of of all the calls I have received and sent over the rolling past ten days.

I block some every now and then. Calls really don't bother me since I don't answer. If "they" leave a voice mail I will check vm just to clear it out. I guess if I was one who felt the need to pick up the phone every time it rang it would drive me up the friggin wall!!
Now off to see how many days of "history" my website has. Never paid any attention to that feature.

I answer the phone because if I don't I've found they'll keep calling me back. I check the caller ID & when I didn't answer many call again. If it's a scam I get nasty. One time one of the callers asked if I cursed at my mother like that & even though she's passed on I said yes I do & all the women in my family curse like that too (that part was true, in fact I just talked about that with my sister the other day, she, her daughter & her granddaughters all swear like sailors) I’m just curious since you said you answered them. Do you get a lot of “live” people on the other end. I figured by now most would be robo calls. Clueless on this end since don’t pick up here. But I have to say, I could give you a run for your money with cursing. I’m the potty mouth of the south. So I can relate There's a sound that I hear from the phone bank and then a live person starts the scam. About half or more are calling from India and they Americanize their name, so a guy with a thick India accent calls himself "Bob". One time I said "Your name's not Bob and you're not from Microsoft"

Holy Crap! I just got a call from Eugênio Sales 423-240-2069
I googled the name and phone number and this popped up.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eug%C3%AAnio_Sales
According to the phone number he is in Tennessee.
Seems there is a speaker by that name too. I may answer next time - might be fun to talk to a dead priest or a motivational speaker in my native cursing born again sinner language.

My SSO likes to keep them on the line and mess with them - the things he says total crack me up.
I don't have the patience. My standard reply is, "I'm not interested. Please remove me from your list. Thank you very much. Good bye. (Click)" I say it all at once without pausing.
I also don't answer my landline. The messages they leave are nuts. I keep the landline to give to people/entities I don't want to talk to. I've just started car shopping for next year and they call in less than 5 minutes. To me, it's worth $8.99 a month to avoid so many calls plus cell phones get hot when in use.

Here's a good one: (I got this scam call last week, and I thought I’d play along.)
Caller: *heavy accent* “Hello, this is Patrick from Microsoft and I have been receiving messages that your computer has a virus.”
Me: “That’s terrible!”

In the day before I quit picking up phone I got this one. I started hollering for my "pretend" husband that we had a virus and said we had just gotten back from the doctor and he didn't say anything about a virus. I am "sobbing" at this point and yelling "are we gonna die?" I carried on till caller hung up!! Now they leave a voice mail
I also let a yahoo go on and on about something till they finally said "doesn't that sound like a good deal" I said "can you repeat that to my Siamese Twin?" He hung up. This was way back in day before caller id.
Sometimes I kinda miss ragging them but not enough to pick up phone.

Anyone getting a call which begins with "This is Kristy (Christy)" and then nothing? I answered (out of curiosity) several calls now over the past week with that recorded message.
Caller ID and phone number state it is coming from somewhere in Tennessee but it could be coming from anywhere.

I keep getting calls from area code 609. Says it's New Jersey. They never leave a message.

I have had voice mails that there are warrants out for my arrest. My social security is being stopped and verbal others. I call them back and introduce my self as special agent fraud division. You would be surprised a the things I have been called so far all have hung up and not called again

I was born here, and I can't lose those things...it doesn't work that way. Unfortunately, it works on new citizens/immigrants. There oughta be a law!!

I had a slightly different one this morning. A live person introduced himself as "Mike Adams". He knew my name and said that Social Security was mailing out new cards and needed to verify my address. It might have been a little more believable without the slight Indian accent and call center noise in the back ground. It was too early in the morning to play around so I just hung up.

DS has his own business. When I get cold calls trying to sell me something, I try to sell THEM something. They don't like it and hang up.

I answer and ask them to do things to themselves. Then I remind them I am on the do not call list. Sometimes I try to get info from them, about them and their company and tell them I am adding them to my class action suit. You are going to pay!!!

I kept getting call from the same number on my cell phone with no identifier. I answered once. It was the clinic harassing me about a colonoscopy. I have done all of my tests but this one. Fasting sends me into food insecurity even though I used to fast on a regular schedule. The clinic was not listening even when I said I had a death in the family and cannot cope with this right now. On a brighter note, I did notice my bank has a lot of brochures for the taking on scams. Even so. Today in the newspaper, several people were scammed out of a lot of money. One elderly woman nearly $100,000. It seems to me that the banks need to do a double take on money withdrawals. If I move money from one bank to another to get a better rate, the first bank is on it.
