We will thru the NRA oppose any more regulations, That interfere the ownership of guns by law biding citizens, while at the same time does nothing to keep the guns out of the hands of the criminals! Inch at a time regulation is met with a don't give an inch response.

Of course those same restrictions can also apply to other amendments too, don't you agree ? It would deny nothing. I especially like the proficiency standard, as a restriction when applied to free speech and voting as one ? I wonder how the women would like those restrictions on their more recent right to vote. Just reread your one through five and apply. I have to hand it to the Supreme Court for finally ending all that spin nonsense about militia. It's an individual right as it was always meant to be. And now reaffirmed by the Supreme Court.I That was a good day ! If that is true then why was language specifically affirming an individual right (which did exist in some of the state constitutions) debated and rejected during the writing of the Second Amendment? The founders could have chosen to affirm an individual right if they wanted to. They chose not to. They debated it and decided against it. It was always meant to be about the militia. The Supreme Court erred in wiping out hundreds of years worth of history and precedent in deciding otherwise. One person's error is another's resounding YES, with a fist pump. Trump gets the high five for his appointees also !

They are working on the laws they can change. In recent years Washington voters have passed initiatives requiring background checks on all gun sales and that private party transfers have to be conducted through licensed gun dealers, that the age of purchase be raised, that there be waiting periods, and that expanded background checks include medical records. All handgun and semiautomatic rifle sales must be recorded and reported to local police/sheriff and the state department of licensing. In addition, there are red flag laws and a requirement that anyone attempting to purchase a semiautomatic rifle provide proof that they have completed a recognized firearm safety course within the last five years. There have also been attempts to mandate safe storage and reporting requirements for lost or stolen weapons in some cities but those attempts are being challenged in court.

agreed.
so, will you please write your congressman and your president and implore them to allow me to have heat seeking SAMs? because without them, i have no defense against standing armies.
i would also like restrictions lifted on land mines and grenade launchers, and all associated ballistics.

OldCoyote, your insistence that it's your "right" to have a military grade weapon is laughable, in my opinion. The second amendment concerns a *well regulated militia*. Last time I checked, neither you nor I were part of a militia. And unless something big goes down, requiring private citizens to bear arms against an enemy, you will not be part of a militia in the future. Whether it's a man or a woman arguing that assault weapons are their right, it's just a manifestation of tiny dick syndrome. Overcompensation for some other area in their life that's inadequate.

Ahhhh yes Welts, when you can't argue a losing position you resort to "it's just a manifestation of tiny dick syndrome. Overcompensation for some other area in their life that's inadequate".
That only mean you have lowered yourself, down to that level.

I cannot imagine any situation in which my life would have deteriorated enough to ever want or need to even touch a gun, much less own one. I am in a city, and not rural, and grant that life is different "out there", but I would guess that anyone in a city who thinks they need a gun...probably has some issues. Inadequacy is just one of the possibilities.

OC,
You and the other gun nutters, compensating or not, just keep ignoring that the Second calls for "well regulated". All us gun grabbers want to do is add some regulations, Constitutionally, that we hope would make a bit of difference in slowing down the American slaughter. Nothing wrong with that at all.

Inadequacy is just one of the possibilities. My father bought my mother a shotgun to deal with the gopher in her garden. The next time she saw that gopher nibbling on her carrots, she ran into the house, loaded the gun, bolted outside and took careful aim, with that thing in her crosshairs. She ended up HURLING that gun at the gopher, because she didn't have the heart to kill a wee beastie. We still laugh about that. A rock would have done the trick. I still have that gun. I don't think anyone has ever fired it or cleaned it.

We don't even think of using our guns up here, even if we have them. One time, I was taking a bath when an intruder was trying to get in through the bathroom window. I launched myself at him, naked and screaming, armed only with a bar of grape-scented soap. It didn't occur to me to get the gun and start blasting away. It was a raccoon.
Another time I was fast asleep when I heard someone in my kitchen, talking to the cat. "Bonjour, Minou!" Like many of my neighbours, I didn't lock my doors. I came tearing downstairs to confront the intruder, in my nightie and sans gun. "Who are you? What do you want?" "Madame, I am 'ere to read the meter. I knocked and I thought I 'eard you say "Come in!" Je m'excuse." He was profoundly apologetic. I would have killed a perfectly innocent meter-reader.

I send my son to school every day, and worry that today will be the day that someone brings an AR to campus and shoots a bunch of people. Maybe it's a student who got to his dad's gun. Maybe it's a disgruntled staff member. In the end, it makes no difference. Kids (and others, in other situations) are dying because it's so easy to get an AR! No one should have to go through that horror. Lock down/active shooter drills should NOT be the norm, let alone ones using audio recorded from Columbine. Children should not have to watch their friends die! What the fuck is wrong with you people?

PRIME example of why private sellers should be required to do the same background checks as dealers:, and that ARs should be banned entirely:
Father helps stop his son from carrying out Midland-Odessa copycat shooting
"The individual had withdrawn several hundred dollars, I think it was between $600 and $700, in an effort to go purchase an assault rifle,” explained Interim Fort worth Police Chief Ed Kraus. “He freely admitted to our officers that that was his intent… that he was going to perform a copycat shooting spree like what occurred in Midland and Odessa.”
Police say once in custody the man, who has not been identified, told them since he couldn’t get a weapon from a retailer he had set out to buy a gun off the street. Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Prices said, “He had been denied… because he couldn’t pass his background check, so he was looking for a private sale.”
The man, who had had previous interactions with police and was known to have mental health issues, also allegedly made several statements to officers indicating that his intent was to “kill as many” people as he could"..
But ARs shouldn't be banned?? fuck that.

And a confiscation of all "Assault weapons". How many do you think are going to actually do it? How are they going to do it? What are you going to do, walk into a police station with a gun,
say I want to sell this to my friend. you will never get a word out of your mouth before you are shot by the police!!!
Do you think this will now stop the drills that are now in place?
Do you think this will stop the people from killing each other? Do you think anything will change in Chicago?

Such stupid arguments against responsibility. And it's not my job to say how it gets done. But, if (general) you are going to turn in an AR at a police station, a SMART person is going to go inside first, and tell them what they want to do. Then perhaps an officer goes out with you and takes possession of it.
Will it stop drills? Perhaps not initially, but assuming that there is a decrease in mass shootings, maybe in time.
Will it stop people from killing each other? Of course it won't stop it completely. But at least it wouldn't be with an AR as often.
No answer about Chicago.
In all seriousness though, it is absolutely crazy to say 'it won't help so we should do nothing'. Disgusting.Entitled.Bullshit.

Your claim of agree or disagree is the fallacy of a false dilemma. It's not the only possibility of an answer to your question. Right now I would be happy to not see the misdirection applied to semi-automatic firing rifles. They were designed and in use during the late 1800's and onward. There was little in the way of mass shootings with them until more recently in history, they're an old, common, firearm mechanism. In regards to your surface to air missile suggestion ? Except for 9-11 there have been no attacks on people using aircraft that I know of, and those were foreign nationals so it was like an act of war, dictating a different response. You would have a hard time applying the 'in common use' cause for them, to protect from aircraft attacks. I'm making the assumption that you know how a SAM works. Could you have possibly meant a TOW missile. I helped design and made parts for that one. (yes, I know you were just being funny, but your question still had merit)

But ARs shouldn't be banned?? fuck that. And just why should a rifle (long gun) from the Armalite Rifle Company be banned ? (bolded, underlined) They mostly specialize in competition rifles, using a common gas piston, semi automatic mechanism. They also sell bolt action rifles. None are switchable to an automatic/machine gun. They fire one bullet per trigger pull, as any other rifle, from any other manufacturer. They are priced well out of range for the common gun buyer. You want this legislation, you should have a reason. Why ? Just asking, because when it gets to the level of the Federal House of Representatives and the Senate, the "little dick's" and "fuck that" argument, doesn't carry the vote.

With ten, ten round clips taped back to back in his cargo pants pockets.

I don't know why you didn't. You are basically saying the current "free for all" of gun ownership needs no changes! It's ludicrous! Ok, let's say We do background checks on ordinary person to person gun sales. And a confiscation of all "Assault weapons". How many do you think are going to actually do it? If you're caught with a weapon that wasn't properly sold to you (meaning, the owner didn't comply with the background check requirements) they take your gun away, charge you with a crime for having the gun, and go back to the guy you bought it from and charge him, too. Do this for a while, and people with a legal interest will start doing it, and people with a criminal interest will keep getting extra years tacked on to their sentences for illegal possession of a gun. How are they going to do it? What are you going to do, walk into a police station with a gun, Why would they have to bring the gun at all? Why couldn't they just do it on line? Dear Police - I want to sell my hand gun, serial number xxx, to OC, here is his address, please let me know if he passes the background check. Easier than getting your driver's license renewed.
say I want to sell this to my friend. you will never get a word out of your mouth before you are shot by the police!!! If you walk into a police department brandishing a weapon you're too stupid to live anyway. Ever heard of the Darwin awards?
Do you think this will now stop the drills that are now in place? Not immediately. It will take a while to get the excess inventory out of the hands of the crazy people
Do you think this will stop the people from killing each other? People will always kill each other, sometimes in very creative ways. This will reduce the mass shootings, domestic shootings, and suicides by gun. Do you think anything will change in Chicago? The only constant in life is change. This will cause change for the better - maybe slowly, but it will change. Doing nothing at all simply accepts the status quo as what we're stuck with. That's not acceptable to a lot of us.

in my case, I am using AR to mean assault rifle, not a brand of rifle. I'm lazy, don'tcha know. An Assault Rifle is switchable to fully automatic and not legal to own unless granted a special license. Assault weapons vs Assault Rifles; It's been long the intent to confuse between the two, by gun control proponents. An assault weapon is merely a semi auto rifle that looks like the military weapon. ( the one that was banned) Quote; If you live in the United States and want to own a fully automatic weapon, it is possible, but there are many restrictions and controls in place. The gun itself cannot be one that was manufactured after May 1986, which places a limit on the number available to buy. This means that once you are licensed, the only weapons you can hope to buy legally are on the resale market. As a result, the prices for the weapons are quite high. In some states, fully automatic weapons are illegal, regardless of whether you are licensed by the federal government. Check with your state authorities before bothering with the federal process.goneoutdoors.com/fully-automatic-gun-license-6742869.html

More tiny dick-ness. White guy at a farmer's market, in VA. Open carry allowed.
"One of the vendors called the Police and they came to check on his permit. Which he had. I asked the officer why this was allowed and he said that since VA is an Open Carry State and he had a permit it wasnt against the law. (Even on Govt property outside the building. Which didnt make sense to me because the market is hosted and run by the City of Alexandria for the last 30 years. Its known as a meeting and gathering place for both locals and tourists alike.)
I said to the Officer: So if he starts shooting at people there is nothing you can do?
He said: Oh yes we can arrest him for committing a crime.
And I said: And by then how many people will be dead?
He had no answer for that.

A lot of people were upset by the sight of this guy and tried to stay away from him. Because honestly, how can you know if he's mentally stable or not, and going to fire off some rounds at any time? He fits the typical profile: White man with a gun. And btw, he wasnt just carrying the AR-15 (?) he had a holstered 9mm Glock on his hip. Both guns fully loaded.

At any point in time the truth of this situation today is that anyone could have been killed by this AWMWAG (Angry White Man with a Gun.)

This is the first time in 10 years working at outside markets that Ive seen anyone this brazen do something this brazen and selfish. How come this POS gets to exercise his right to carry weapons like this and terrorize people shopping for bread and apples, tea and coffee; and the rest of us have our rights infringed on by someone trying to terrorize us? It makes no sense.
I really wonder if this guy was black, brown or was wearing a turban if he would have been treated the same way. What do you think?"
