you beat me by 6 minutes. Now waiting for the "deficit will go down bigly due to the tax cuts" crowd to weigh in...

The man has never seen a dollar, real or imagined, that he doesn't want to spend at least 3-4 times. Hence six (6) bankruptcies with spending that pays for itself - bigly!

If this subject remains front and center, I wonder how he can win among retirees? Too many already live on the edge.

So basically, our tax dollars go toward anything and anyone, except us actual citizens who pay and the programs that would help us. Fantastic!
I think we all just need to rebel and quit paying taxes!

And now I can go pick up my degree in advanced Trumponomics. I've got this down pat. This will be my second degree were I can add semen to the world's output (as in Summa --- Laude)

If any of this is true, he will have committed political suicide. I can't imagine many people voting for him if he vows to cut SS or medicare.

Can you imagine if EVERYONE stopped paying? I'm curious to know who is actually paying taxes. We sure as hell aren't, and we're closing in on six figures for gross HH income. A quick google search told me that 30% of US households gross 100K or more. That's not a lot of the population supporting all our needs...

People voted for Trump and against their best interest in this past election. You think they are getting it together and changing their mind this time?

Except there are plenty of supporters who will just say its fake news, because it won't be talked about on Fox. And there are plenty of people who vote against there own best interest. You yourself said you could retire early if we had universal healthcare, yet you are adamantly against the very idea that would help you do so.

He said vote this budget, raise the debt limit without a fight and cuts will come later. Plus, he's going to have to spend a zillion dollars on the military to outwit Russia. Putin will have us right where he wants us and won't have to fire a single bullet.

And yet neither of us are complaining about paying in for other people's kids hurley1980. Funny (sad?) how some people can see past their own noses while others cannot.

That would be me. I pay a lot of Federal income taxes. I'm a single female (no kids) recently making 6 figures (who has always had a good salary). For a good chunk of my earning years - the only way to lower my taxes (shelter some money) was to contribute to a 401(k)/IRA. And then I bought a house - which helped because my property taxes made it worth while to itemize. I don't buy enough consumer goods every year to "itemize" and take advantage of the sales tax deduction. So, yeah I pay A LOT in payroll/income taxes.

The biggest chuck of my PT goes to the local school/HS, there's a good chunk towards my city's Public Library and Parks too. I have never used the public school system, and barely use the library and parks. And believe me - I've had to listen to relatives B&M about how they are being taxed to death! oh woe! All while reaping the tax benefits of being married and having kids (mind you kids in PUBLIC schools).

Because I don’t think Medicare for all is good for the country. I certainly don’t think slashing social security or Medicare is good for the country, either.

Single with one kid to claim and taxable income of a lot more than “almost 6 figures” and that is after sheltering as much as I can. I lay a boatload of taxes.

I complain a little. But it's mostly how many of married or with kids don't realize how much of the burden solos take on. They just see woo no burdens! And it's like well actually you're my burden.
My parent's income is about the same as mine but they maybe now barely grasp that they get a lot more in their pockets. I pay several thousand more in income taxes. As well as payroll taxes since they're retired. And though most would say it's a choice, retirement savings takes another large chunk out.

I voted against Hillary last time and I voted for a direction I want this country to go. If I were selfish I would want free healthcare now as I would be done working for good. I do not like the direction the liberals want to take this country and I’m cool with working and not getting free things as long as my country is headed th way I want it to.

Are you saying you have no tax bill, or do not pay a lot in federal taxes?

Don't worry then as your party will come up with the bestest, greatest, hugest, and cheapest plan just as soon as they throw 20 million Americans to the wolves. I'm thinking about 2032 at the pace you Repo-Cons give a Shiite about the sick without insurance.

he is basically shooting his core constituency. I hope they realize that. No. He will blame the reductions on Hillary/Obama, and they will believe it, because they don't think he lies about anything.

trump will let the news die down and we won't hear about it again until after the 2020 (if he is reelected). Then what is trump's core constituency going to do if he goes through with his plan to begin cutting SS and Medicare? Not reelect trump for a third term?
