I'm certain it will not be a shock to any American of either political party to find out that Trump claimed his Scottish golf resorts were worth two completely different values in submissions to the Scottish government and to the US government.
He inflated the value of the resorts and also his income from those resorts when he made his 2018 US filing to the US Office of Government Ethics. He also failed to mention on that filing that he had made about 200 million in loans to those resorts. (Those resorts are really starting to look like money laundering schemes).
According to what he submitted to the UK, the combined debt of the resorts exceeded their value, and he was losing about 6 million dollars a year on them.

So - inflating the value when it wanted to look wealthy, deflating the value to the country that he has to pay taxes on the property to.
"Just being a good businessman" the Trumpettes will say - except that this is illegal and can result in up to six years in jail.
Who wants to bet money he throws his accountants under the bus and claims he didn't know anything about this at all?

That is a sure bet.

Not the first time or even second time trump has done the above. Tax bill in Albany would impact Trump National Golf Club Westchester tax caseTrump National Golf Club Westchester in Briarcliff Manor is one of the village’s biggest taxpayers, with its 2019 bill pegged at $487,000. That hasn’t sat well with the Trump Organization, which since 2015 has sought to dramatically lower the club’s taxable value by 72 percent. A Tax Watch investigation in 2015 during Donald Trump’s presidential campaign was part of a national conversation about Trump’s holdings and his proclivity to inflate the value of his properties in certain filings while he devalued them when it came to his tax liability. In Briarcliff Manor, and the town of Ossining, which assesses the Trump course, that conversation continues. Trump in 2016 valued his Westchester course at $50 million in a financial disclosure statement he filed when he ran for president. That same year, his attorney valued Trump National for $1.5 million. The answer is as complicated and contradictory as the property’s famous owner. President Donald Trump’s financial disclosures in 2016 and 2017 list the value of Trump National Golf Club in Jupiter as “over $50 million.” But in an ongoing lawsuit against the Palm Beach County Property Appraiser, Trump insists the value “should be no more than” $5 million. In what has become an annual rite of summer, Trump National Golf Club in Jupiter this week sued the Palm Beach County Property Appraiser and the Florida Department of Revenue concerning the taxable value of the 213-acre property.
