I heard that the CIA Greenland natives have formed a movement calling for independence from Denmark.

Trump then suggested that Greenland was “hurting Denmark very badly” throwing out the figure that it cost the Danish government “$700 million.”
“So they carry it at a great loss. And strategically for the United States it would be nice,” Trump added.
link So here is a thought: New Mexico is the most dependent state on the federal government, according to WalletHub link. Perhaps we could sell it to Olde Mexico. After all, it would just be a real estate deal.

He announced today that he's cancelling a state visit to Denmark because they won't sell him Greenland.
Insulting an ally for no other reason than his ego. That's some pretty impressive foreign policy & I'm sure it's exactly what his supporters want. Trolling becoming pissing off 2 countries. All because they aren't for sale to him. All because they won't fulfill his bottomless ego.

Maybe they were reluctant to sell because they thought we'd write them a big cold check!

Here's a thought - let's ask the Greenlanders if they want to be part of the US, before we attempt to purchase them.
Or are we just going to kick the natives out and recolonize with white Americans? Because that's something we have a habit of doing.

Quality of life is worse in the US. They would be foolish to volunteer to join us.

Trump cancels trips to foreign countries a lot.
Cause, I guess, it's not the president's job to be diplomatic and friendly to other nations.
Can't imagine anyone in Denmark is sad about it.

Can't imagine anyone in Denmark is sad about it. I read a comment from a Dane on one of the sites I frequent that said: "well couldn't he have done this a little sooner. We already paid the deposit for the baby Trump balloon". The deposit is presumably non-refundable

Every country has their own what evers...example , we have Puerto Rico, horrible very expensive hurricanes ..see New Orleans, Houston and other parts of Texas plUs Florida, Atlantic coast...etc, etc....so why get involved with other countries what evers.....and then take it so personal...time to get over the thin skin of our current POTUS. Next on his agenda might be a push to purchase Canada and when they too say "NO" in a way that makes him unhappt...see Denmark...and are right on our border...he says " ok...we'll invade and take what we want.." The man is more and more unstable...time to recognize the fact...all of us , including the sane members of the GOP too, if they want to stay relevant in our political process...let them come up with a alternative candidate in 2020...even if they lose... ------------------------------------------------------------- www.yahoo.com/news/trump-danish-pm-us-buying-greenland-absurd-nasty-174601374.html

Trump probably made a passing comment about buying Greenland,in some joke, youidiots took it and ran with it like he had signed an executive order doing it. Or maybe you could come up with an Executive order. youidiots, is a new word.

Ok I will read more, but my first reaction is like that of a business person, I may throw out a question , about some business prospect. At the start it is only a question looking for feed back from the people I work with. At this point, who is talking about Greenland, only the liberals! Trump has long since move on.

Actually he went back to it again yesterday, in a press scrum outside his helicopter.
He said the Danish Prime Minister was very disrespectful to the US, and people needed to know they couldn't treat the US that way.
Which isn't true, of course. The Danish Prime Minster wasn't disrespectful, she just said you can't just buy countries anymore, plus she wasn't directing the comment to the US, she directed it to the man who made it - Trump.
So it's still weighing heavily on Trump's mind that this bimbo Dane, probably not someone hot enough he'd want to date, wasn't all giddy at the prospect of selling Greenland to him.
Yes, with everything else going on in the world today, that's what Trump is wasting his time thinking about - someone not being sufficiently flattering to him.

Yes, he referred to her as “very nasty”. What a ‘presidential’ comment from The petulant in chief. Of course none of his now inured cultists will even be able to comment on that embarrassment.

And the Prime Minister of Iceland will not be home when Pence visits...SHE will be at a previously scheduled event where she is giving a talk/speech...I think in Sweden.

Kind of like when your dog bites the neighbor's kid. Hard to explain that the dog mistook the kid for a wolf, or thought the kid smelled like bacon, or in his inner heart, the dog was truly a good canine but people misunderstood why he sometimes bites people. He's lovingly biting people! With affection!
It's a whole lot easier to just state the obvious - it's a mean dog who can't be out in public without a muzzle.
