I still have my AC on. Could probably turn it off at night and open the windows, but I figure it's not working too hard to keep it at 70 when it's 60 degrees outside. I won't turn the furnace on until towards the end of October at the earliest. Mine is actually still on, but set at 74, so it hasn't cycled on since last week. Outside temp has been down to mid 50s at night, and a few days topped out at 72-74 for a couple days in there. Our giant shade trees keep the house cool even when it's 80 during the day. (In case anyone really wondered: I don't actually ask my DH permission to set the thermostat or heat/AC. I was just bitching about summer ending in that way. I did have the freaking heat on in June, though! Lol!)

Thank you... I'm either or Don't knock it when you want to cut down on the indoor humidity! Have I mentioned in this thread that my house is like a cave? FYI - My comment wasn't directed at you. If you thought it was, I'm sorry. I had just read through the thread and some of the comments made me laugh, while others I was really surprised by, and some I felt really bad for the person. But overall, I was very entertained. That's all I was trying to say. It was a general comment, not directed at any one specific person. I didn't mean to offend anyone.

I always feel cold when I wake up at her place, because you can't get an accurate idea of the weather when you look out the window. Unless you actually go outside, you feel cold all day, even when it's hot. It sounds similar to your place.

Last night, I set my phone/wallet on top of the car. I got distracted for a couple minutes. Then I got in the car and drove off. Realized what happened about 5 minutes later, went back to the spot, double checking the route, looking for my phone. No luck. Got home and got the two credit cards and the Starbucks card cancelled. They will mail me a replacement drivers license without me having to go to the DMV.
Today, I have purchased a new phone and sim card to be delivered tonight. Now, I am trying to decide on a new case. That might take a bit.

Oh ugh. That's worse than my day - I only slobbered cream of chicken soup on my shirt.

Someone broke into my car, made a mess and stole a lot of random items (that I liked). They left the door slightly open so my battery went dead, which is a PIA due to the security system. They even took my reusable shopping bags- a few were really nice (worked well) insulated. The others were the open box type. None of them were cheap. I suppose they used them to carry my stuff (and anyone else's) in. I've had better days. I hope karma bites them in the ass, REALLY HARD!

Company picnic at work was totally lame. I should have just kept my original appointment. I ended up just sitting in my van watching Netflix anyhow (although I did take the free meal)

Still stuck at work with a never ending project that just ate up 3 days that I didn't have to spare. The worst part is that the project won't make more than a few thousand $$. Meanwhile higher profit projects sit and wait.

Had a great day so far! 3 of the grandkids came over and we had a great time. They swam in the morning and again after lunch. Lilly and I did stickers and watched 1 episode of her favorite tv show. They went home at 3:30 because the 2 middle kids have parent teacher night at their school tonight. I’ll have the same 3 kids tomorrow too.
I’m making chicken cordon blue with rice and veggies for dinner. Don’t know if DH will be home for supper or not, but he can heat it up when he comes back from scouts.

I’m going to jinx myself, 😱, I have to brag: today has taken a surprising happy turn: YDS earned himself yet another merit scholarship for this academic year. I’m still paying his rent and for his groceries, but he has a free-ride for his tuition. 🎉🎉

Sitting here watching this 8oz kitten try to mess with my 90lbs pit/rock mix. The dog is looking at it mildly amused like you are not even a mouth full. Dog is good thought should be no issues

I asked my coworker how do you measure a liter. Back home(Romania) I would’ve told you to weigh 1 kilogram of water!😂 (very little known fact- 1 liter of water weighs 1 kilogram)

I spent the day on Martha's Vineyard, and other than purchasing the last round of drinks while we waited for the ferry, my day was free for me. Monday is my birthday, and I met with resistance for even picking up that one round. today has been beautiful, perfect weather, and we have had a great group of 5 ladies.

DH and I were this close to doing the same thing for the day but postponed our plans late Friday night. I’d have been honored to buy you a round for your birthday.

Wish i'd known about the Vineyard. Would have had you go smack someone for me. I'd buy you a drink for that. Whatcha doing tomorrow? I'm getting an oil change at 11 but I can buy you a drink afterwards. It's supposed to be kind of crappy out.

DH and I hopped in the car and drove West along the Mohawk Trail (a/k/a Route 2) in Massachusetts all the way to the New York border. This scenic road trip takes one up, down, and around the Hoosac Mountains, makes a genuine hair pin turn on a state highway no less, and runs through quaint, old, New England mill towns. We stopped at several scenic vistas, took pics at the sign entering the town of Florida to send to our kids as a joke, and wandered around the Town of Shelburne Falls with its Bridge of Flowers (breathtaking!) and glacial potholes. It was a fun but cheap “get out of Dodge” kind of day.

Reading the Springfield newspapers as a kid, Florida, MA always seemed to be setting state winter weather cold temperature records.

(Yup, the original settlers of the area had a sense of humor.) Orange is almost central MA. depending where I was going when leaving my sister *near* Ware, i would have to drive through Oramge to get back to route 2. if I was heading home, I'd just go back to Worcester and pick up 290.

Ditto for me, today.
I think I'm bugging out of work early, despite coming in late due to first day of school, to go look at cats at the Humane Society. I promised my kids a new to us cat after we were done with the summer traveling and I guess we're mostly done. I want 2 cats, one for each kid, but I want to talk to the people BEFORE I show up with kids who are going to love damn near any cat(s) they see.
