looks like he's losing the farmer's support too.
Farmers’ discontent over President Donald Trump’s escalating trade war with China erupted into the open Wednesday as his agriculture secretary was confronted at a fair in rural Minnesota.
Gary Wertish, president of the Minnesota Farmers Union, drew applause as he leveled criticism of the administration’s trade policy at a forum with Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue in front of thousands of farmers gathered in a metal barn for a panel discussion. Wertish criticized Trump’s “go-it-alone approach” and the trade dispute’s “devastating damage not only to rural communities.” He expressed fears Trump’s $28 billion in trade aid will undermine public support for federal farm subsidies, saying the assistance is already being pilloried “as a welfare program, as bailouts.”
Others joined in. Brian Thalmann, president of the Minnesota Corn Growers Association, complained about Trump statements that farmers are doing “great” again. “We are not starting to do great again,” he said. “We are starting to go down very quickly.”

Your problem is assuming that Paul ever actually makes a point. It is more correct to say that Paul publishes highly-biased screeds where it is doubtful that even a single premise or statement anywhere in it is more than half-true. He could make a legitimate argument if he wanted to. He just doesn't want to.

This is exactly why the occasional fuck off IS a valid point OC. Where the Hell you been all these years? That's why I post the source of the statements posted. There is no arguing with the statements, but you can show the very biased blog or person they came from, so that other board readers can make their own minds up whether they want to accept the statements as posted, or with a grain of salt, knowing the slant of the source.
Sometimes the very far left and very far right websites go to great pains to present a dignified façade of journalism, hoping to draw in the majority of the country that is middle of the road.

Well, the farmers are going to lose it all. Today China cut off all American agricultural products. Since China is one of the biggest, not the biggest purchaser of grains, they are screwed. He is badmouthing Mexico number 1, Canada, number 2. China, number 3 and Japan number 4. I may have 3 and 4 turned around. But note, trump is badmouthing all of them, he is going to ruin all the farmers. Honestly, I really think he is playing to Russia. He is destroying every governmental agency, taking everything scientific out of the government. Fanning the flames of division in this country. It appears he is hellbent on destroying us and he may get the job done. I am getting afraid.

If the farmers go out of business, and the corporations buy up the farmland, can you even imagine what prices will be like at the grocery store? Unless, Russia or China gets ahold of our country first. Then we'll have problems that we've never seen before...

Think they also own some chicken farms...but I'd have to research that.

Yes, I knew about Smithfield, happened quite some time ago. They said the ironic thing is they get subsidies due to the Chinese tariffs so we are paying them for the product, they supporting it for them.
I don't think he can be this dumb, I am starting to think its by design. He knows everything to do to sow division into every part of our country. Of course religion is the big one. Around here these naïve people will kiss up to him daily and hold him up as a god because he "backs" abortion and says Christians can't do this and that. I constantly ask on facebook where any of this stuff is actually happening and no one has answers. If we don't get him out this next election, we are done as a country. Even bond sales are plummeting. Not only is he taking down the US but its pulling all economies around the world down. Hubs is not like me yet, but he is seeing the warning signs and wondering. I told him we better prep. And its not just the farmers its climate change too, that is even scarier all of it hitting at once.
modernfarmer.com/2017/07/theres-foreign-owned-american-farmland-size-tennessee-know/
The primary concerns about foreign holdings of American agricultural land are many, and come from both farmers and state governments. There are fears that foreign nations could drive up the price of food, or force out American farmers. And once owned by foreign entities, Americans might not be able to secure that land again. That kind of stuff hasn’t happened yet, but it’s only been in recent years that foreign ownership of agricultural land has spiked, and the total acreage owned is set to continue to rise – China, for example, more than doubled its holdings with the acquisition of Smithfield Foods, and could spike again if ChemChina’s proposed acquisition of Syngenta goes through.
Syngenta acquisition
In February 2016, ChemChina agreed to a $43 billion bid for Swiss seeds and pesticides group Syngenta, the largest ever foreign purchase by a Chinese firm. ... The deal was completed that same month with 82.2 percent of Syngenta shares and depository receipts offered.

China set out some time ago to control the world. They have been well on their way in many areas....ag is just one area, IT is another they have stolen from the US....not sure what all they have acquired in one way or another from other countries around the world.

I wonder if this is part of the objective- to drive up the value of US corporations so that they become acquisition targets.

We have a huge delinquent tax sale coming up. This is a county of 12000 people or less I think. Don't know anymore. 228 properties, others are talking about it, we have never seen anything like it. A whole page in the newspaper in very small print, going to have to get a magnifying glass. So something isn't going well. Maybe old folks dying off with no family, not sure.

Today at hubs reunion, I met a hubs of a classmate retired judge, etc. We hit it off and turns out he is a dem also. He is appalled at what is happening and he and his wife are like us absolutely positive if he gets in again this country is done for. We didn't get home till 9:30, he said he hopes we are there tomorrow night, said he had never enjoyed one of these reunions before. We had some very interesting conversations, and the food was just great to. So the evening was good. The host was a huge farmer, I asked how it was going, he is a friend of hubs and farms around 1200 acres plus. He said very badly and he is really worried about what is going to happen, that it is looking very bad for him. Asked him if he got his money from trump, none! But he is a dem so wonder if he will get any.

There were 5 of us on the same page, in fear of our democracy if he gets in again. Total confusion why evangelicals would back him? That he is working on destroying every cabinet post, the connections with all our friends, that he has already destroyed the farmers. And that mcconnell is hand in hand with him and without replacing him nothing can be fixed. And a lot more.

No different than big business execs meeting in backrooms to control a market, or politicians sitting in a backroom picking their preferred candidates. Your agenda is rewarded or in your case reaffirmed in your mind. Remember when you worried about some bad news coming your way a few days ago? Same thing.

Yep, and the bad news was shootings in my book. May be wrong but I feel that way.
He is taking us down as a country, sorry you don't see that. but people are really getting serious and the directions the talking is going is really serious. People are starting to see and realize what he is doing. You may be surprised that some of these had been republicans. they are appalled and we hope this is a movement starting to taking place. the dems aren't the best, but they are so much better then what we have now.

I hope we are coup plotters, it would be an honor. Nothing we can actually do, but we can help spread the news about how bad this guy is.
