I agree. it is unsafe to travel here.

We now live in an area that depends on tourist spending, so those at the top better get their act together. The one thing worse than "angry non-white people", is angry Americans.

I know the US is a popular tourist destination for Japanese and wealthy Chinese. And when they come here, boy do they spend money.... The PNW is a popular tourist destination and we like the tourist dollar. They come, stay in hotels, eat out, go sightseeing, buy souveniers, then leave. They benefit our economy a lot.

When I did my national parks tour in May it seemed like there were more foreign visitors than Americans. Many, many Asians but a lot from Europe and other areas too.

More fun than my having to break up a screaming match between members of a Chinese tour group at Yellowstone....

I was in the Coach outlet in Tulalip last month and an Asian woman had 16 shopping bags of purses she was purchasing. Each shopping bag had 4-6 purses in it! It would not surprise me if she dropped over $20K in that one store. I have watched another wipe out the Burberry store, buying just about everything.

My visit to the Grand Canyon was with 50,000 of my closest Japanese friends. My mom got her picture taken by about 100 Japanese tourists as she but scooted down Boulder Falls due to vertigo making it hard to stand. Meanwhile good daughter that I am I was peeing my pants laughing.

On vacation last month we were stuck in Paris and was talking to a 30 something couple from Australia just finishing up an 8 month world tour. A question we asked was which country they didn't like ........... and their answer was US. Asked them which cities they visited and they said ......... Los Angeles ........ New York .......... Miami ......... New Orleans
All they saw was the filth, homeless, ........ Having been to 3 of the 4 cities listed, I tend to agree with them. I suggested their next visit to go to some of the mid-country areas and maybe their opinion would get better. Doubt it will happen.
The country they liked the best was Japan.

A lot of Canadians are avoiding travel to the States as well. I'm surprised by how many people say they won't go while Trump is President. Not me, I went to Vegas this spring. But a lot of travellers I know are ruling out the US.

Travel advisory for Japan....they have earth quakes & often get typhoons during the season.
Travel advisory for Australia....they have poisonous snakes, creep spiders & salt water crocs!
If they didn't think Japan had dirty places too...they didn't get off the main tourist areas. My DIL took us to some of the not well known sites...plenty of dirt, nasty people & rudeness too.
