couldn't even squeeze out a "thoughts & prayers" first. Anyone shocked? Entire reaction is all about themselves. No sympathy, no caring about the young children who died. Just me me me me don't take my gun.
Shocker!
That only happens because the gun control proponents are quick to use these tragedies for political gain. Not shocking at all. The thoughts and prayers (empathy), are up for constant ridicule on this forum, so I for one won't use it. All you have to do is read the first sentence of reply #3 from this thread. ymam.proboards.com/post/3023969

As in it's already illegal to kill people, think those same people will follow gun laws, when they don't follow murder laws ?

Oc, is there a post you can reference where any poster here stated that all racists are white? I'm going to bet that you can't. I'm not OC but I can tell you that I have been told on here many times that only white people can be racist because they have the power. I forget the specifics but something like oppressed people can hate someone because of their color but that isn't racism. If I had the time or cared enough I'm sure I could find those that told me that...but I have neither so my word will have to do. I have never once seen someone post something like that. If someone said something like that to you, they have some serious issues and may possibly be racist themselves.

Mothers gunned down in Chicago during anti-crime street vigil
Two mothers in Chicago have been killed in a drive-by shooting as they stood on a street corner in an effort to deter gun violence.
Chantell Grant and Andrea Stoudemire were volunteers for Mothers Against Senseless Killings and had been camped out at the corner to prevent conflict.
They were shot on Friday evening by the occupants of a blue SUV. No arrests have yet been made.

I'm just pointing out why that receives the ridicule it gets, since that's apparently a difficult thing for you to grasp.

I think that the words "racist" and "racism" have become such loaded terms that they have become useless. I think that we should focus on very specific behaviors e.g. does that joke put down people specifically based on their birth race and makes them lesser than other races because of it? In my mind, such behavior should simply not be done.

I don't care. In regards to weapons, people choose not to defend themselves. I'm good with that.

yes, people that have gone through security at festivals (music, garlic, whatever) and other places like airports that also have metal detectors are choosing not to defend themselves as they partake in whatever activity brought them there. you are beyond willfully obtuse today, and I'm done engaging it.

...replacing the mindset... Doesn't matter what the mindset is, it's written into the Constitution of our country, along with the Supreme Court ruling affirming the individual right. ... Yes it is, as is written the means for changing that Constitution. I support using that process.

I answered this....over and over and over and over and over again. Not surprisingly, here you are, asking it again. It's like speaking to a toddler, except the toddler eventually gets it.

Yes it is, as is written the means for changing that Constitution. I support using that process. Of course, it's a staple suggestion from me, on most threads on this subject. I usually word it as there is a process in place for changing the constitution. They did it for prohibition.

It's simple enough for me.
It was a criminal who cut through the fence in a gun free activity zone.
Why would he choose that venue, when he didn't know anyone that he shot ?
Until those who believe in utopia, come up with a way to change human nature, and a criminal element no longer exists.
I will retain my self defense weapons and carry them.

I don't care what you do, there will be some that will, find a way to kill people if they want. Let me take time to credit the police officers at the festival, for engaging the gunman and taking him down in under one minute!! They saved a bunch of lives!!

I think it is sociopathic. and yes, there are things we can do about it.

I think killing is part of human nature. We justify it by putting labels/conditions on it, and keep on killing. (bolded) Show me a time in our history when we didn't kill each other. www.bing.com/images/search?q=images+of+ancient+weapons&qpvt=images+of+ancient+weapons&FORM=IGRE

False dichotomy, your oversimplifying. Not even close to being an alternative, in finding a way to kill people, as OC stated.

Maybe killing is just a part of YOUR nature. It's not mine and it's not how I raised my children. So, NO, killing isn't just part of human nature. Killing, like hatred, has to be taught.

The question is still out there.
Why did this criminal choose a gun free zone to do his killing of people he didn't know ?
Didn't he know there was a law against bringing a gun in that area ?
