Marlene has become, unexpectedly and suddenly, aware of a hidden America, a dangerous America, and now she is able to see in all manner of symbols (words, cars, hats, and so many more that suddenly fit her new social and moral map of America) the deplorables who are all around her: driving down the road, standing next to her in the grocery store, or fixing her plumbing. This part is especially hysterical.
Someone who has bought into the Deep State conspiracy plot to kill America alleging that poor Marlene has fallen victim to some foolish conspiracy theory about America being full of deplorables.
Pot-Kettle. Sorry, but even a cursory investigation of the evidence reveals that this fails the moral equivalency test. Obama, Hillary, Comey, Brennan, Clapper, McCabe, Strzok, Page, Bruce & Nellie Ohr, along with Weissmann and company are actually guilty of treason. The Russia hoax and the Mueller fake investigation into it were a cover story and a smokescreen.

Typical right wing anti-American extremism at it’s finest. All GUILTY until proven innocent. And, as yet, not 1 charge filed by the administration of the justice obstructor in Chief.

I've worked in government. You can't get anyone to do what they are supposed to do, let alone run some vast conspiracy. And most people can't keep their yaps shut long enough to keep anything secret. Furthermore, aren't all government workers lazy and too stupid to do anything else? If they are that lazy/stupid, how are they able to pull off this conspiracy? This was Obama, Hillary, and cabinet level people. Not "government workers". Last time I checked they worked for the government, cabinet level or not.

That's why I think I was the only person in America who hated the Di Vinci code book.
Every chapter ended with a ridiculous cliff hanger. Took all the fun out of the story for me.
Come to think of it, it does focus on a lurid conspiracy theory.
I hated it. I found the writing extremely poor, and I couldn't finish it. I loved it & still do. I've read it at least 4 times and his other books too.

Having spent 12 years in Catholic school I found it fascinating. I basically read it straight through until 3am as we had driven down to Sunriver on vacay. I was especially intrigued by the celice as it was rumored that our Jesuits went through some kind of ritual that may have incorporated this device, prior to becoming ordained as priests.

I bought the book right before the movie premiered. I finally broke down to see what it was all about. I bought the deluxe edition of the book which had indoor and outdoor pictures of the various churches mentioned in the book. Made it interesting to me.

I remember my college English professor telling us that if I story/book/movie has one far fetched event or coincidence, it is okay, but the more of them the author needs to move the plot along, the less it is worth your time. I think of that professor every time I hear these complicated, deep state conspiracy theories. That's why I think I was the only person in America who hated the Di Vinci code book.

I found it meh. I had to read it to see what the hype was about and be in the loop. I figured out if I skipped a lot of the filler the story became more streamlined. Wouldn't read it again though.

Not a single staff member ever discovered the truth? Were they all paid off? Do Obama and Clinto have a vast secret templar fortune to draw from? Otherwise where is it coming from? Or were they all killed and Obama /Clinton managed to silence all the loved ones of the dead staffers AND had the time to buy off the media to keep the fact DC staffers are mysteriously disappearing?

I wish there were more rational, intelligent conservatives left. It would make these discussions a lot more interesting if we could actually discuss ideas rather than refuting stupid sh** all the time.

It would make these discussions a lot more interesting if we could actually discuss ideas rather than refuting stupid sh** all the time. Rational, intelligent conservatives have left the cult45 I would argue ALL the true conservatives have left Congress.
Trump increased spending and granted a fat tax cut to the wealthy and big business, insisting that he would create a 'hot' economy that would eliminate the deficit. That was a lie - following two years of claims of economic growth, the deficit has increased under Trump, and will increase again by 2020 with the new proposed budget. (It decreased every year except the first two under Obama). Judging from the silence of GOP members of Congress, there is no longer a conservative left in Congress who gives a shit about being fiscally conservative.

The GOP is now in the era of personality cult, where the GOP congressmen are so frightened of their bully of a leader most won't publically criticize Trump for fear of him turning his tweetstorm on them. Case in point - how many GOPers in congress had the balls to tell Trump to SYFU with his three days of nasty tweeting about Cummings and Al Sharpton?
