I say they are not winning. www.cnbc.com/2019/07/15/china-economy-beijing-posts-q2-gdp-amid-trade-war-with-us.htmlThe Chinese may be hard headed and think Trump does not know what he is doing but if they really want to keep their economy going and reap the financial reward for the master class there, the party leaders, they will soon. It will only happen when they think they have saved face and it is publicly portrayed that Trump lost.

From what I have read, both sides seem to be hurting and if u are a farmer who use to have a major market for your products that has now disappeared...I am sure they feel betrayed, especially those who face losing their farms. The subsidy in the billions that he [the Donald] has allocated...believe the actual checks are way behind...farmers still have bank loans...are not the answer. While there seems to be a good case , again from readings and statements of experts in the field, to be tough with China....it seems so many of these experts have said the Donald screwed up by going after the UK, Great Britain as he did rather then get them to be allies against China....and I believe them... As far as Chinese leadership being hard headed...they are responsible for over a billion and almost half again...feeding and rising from poverty...these people do not just look ahead by a quarter of financial statements as it seems us businesses do but have five and ten year plans that they stick to...dummies they do not and as far as their political system vs ours...lack of democratic doings...for the most part it seems to be working for them fairly well...especially with the population they have...Except for a short term war with Vietnam decades ago....they don't seem to be useing their strength in going after their neighbors in a war like manner...vs a party I won't name...they have bullet trains galore...also weigh to much reliance on dirty coal for their electric needs...Wonder why they haven't looked more at nuclear power as Japan has...

I don't think China is winning here, for two reasons. The U.S. buying power. China's shaky financial condition. China has far more to lose than We do.

what are you referring to? Go visit Aham's threads. how about you stop visiting Aham's threads?
so, yeah. China is running huge surpluses and growing over 5% per year.
if you constructed a list of the 100 countries most likely to fail, China would NOT be on it.
www.scmp.com/news/china/diplomacy-defence/article/2128068/why-chinas-record-trade-surplus-us-could-be-headache china's trade surplus with the US is skyrocketing. the overall surplus is over $1/2T. china's growth rate has stabilized at +7%, or roughly 2x that of the US.
so, if there is some issue with China, I am not aware of it.

All shortcomings caused to the Chinese by Trump’s trade war were quickly filled up. They will be buying soybean from Brazil and some other countries. The same will go with pretty much everything else. The only thing that the Chinese will not be keeping up for the near future due to the trade war with US is the rate at which Chinese are turning billionaires. The European Union already made some deals about goods to be manufactured in China so there is that!

All shortcomings caused to the Chinese by Trump’s trade war were quickly filled up. They will be buying soybean from Brazil and some other countries. if you look CAREFULLY at what China has done for the past two decades, you will find that they have been very strategic in their foreign policy.
rather than bombing and bullying their way around the world, they have given significant aid and formed alliances with the developing world- particularly Africa, but also South America. this will provide a bulwark against reactionaries in the developed world. this is SMART economic policy. it is the kind of thing the US did right up until our decline started in 1973.
we should get back to that, unless we want to end up like Denmark and Holland. former empires that are shadows of their former glory.

They are not responsible for a billion and a half people. They control a billion and a half people. The people are there to enrich the one percent Communist leadership.

Well in the States it seems the 1% seem to control just about all of the wealth in the country...really not in mood to look up the actual #'s...In the Peoples Republic, it seems the party in charge...even with the corruption...they have done wonders in raising a poor agrarian population into a dynamic wealth for hundreds of millions...plus taking care of their health, feeding the population ..hugh public works programs attacking the yearly floods that cause such loss of life and damages...Of course their society has problems...which society today doesn't.
