That's great, maybe the line to get checked out might be one person less than the ten I am normally behind! Try Ace or Lowe's where you are going to pay more! Kinda funny, the media bias show up well here, Cons are going to boycott Nike it's like wooooptee doooooo. When the libs are going to boycott Home Depot it's like , Internet explodes!!!

I've always liked Lowe's better anyway. They usually have what I want at a better price.

I've been boycotting Home Depot since 2011, when the tornado hit my house, and a lot of other houses.
Driving around looking for tarps, we found out Home Depot had tripled the price of tarps. Lowes did not. We've been going to Lowes ever since.

I'm not sure the internet has exploded. And I can't imagine this boycott will make a dent in anything - home depot, politics, history, etc.
I agree with the other posters - Lowes is better. I stopped going to home depot after I re-did my kitchen. They were terrible.

Meh, Home Depot (I HATE that store). I've been boycotting Home Depot (I HATE that store) for years. Yes, if I'm desperate I will go there. I can NEVER get any help as in I cannot find what I need (and something they should have) or the thing I need is up on shelf over my head or I need an employee to cut something (like a board or a pipe ). I can't remember a time at Home Depot (I HATE that store) that wasn't more work (time, aggravation, money) than it was worth. I've never had those kinds of issues at Menards or ACE or True Value... (and I've had frustrating experiences at those - just not EVERY SINGLE time I walk thru the door).

It's called the "power of the purse". If you find a company is supporting a cause, or a politician, that you don't like, you have every right to shop somewhere else. Freedom, ya know...

Well, Lowes contributes more to GOP than to Democrats too, but in my area they have excellent products, knowledgable employees who will help you and better prices. Lowes was here first & then HD bought land less than 1/2 mi. from them to build...I won't go to HD unless it is a last resort. Went in there once & asked about "Yellow Wood"...no one in the whole place knew what I was talking about & they used to be the only place that carried it in about 100 radius here. I know more than most of the HD employees.
BTW, it hasn't exploded the internet...just one more corps up the GOP behinds or other way around.

Home Depot lasted maybe 2 years here and has been gone for probably 7 or more years. The placed the store 2 blocks away from Menards. Then Lowes came.
I have not been in Home Depot.

I've had nothing but bad experiences at Lowes...and their products are crap. But I also have never shopped at Home Depot, so I can't compare to it. I usually shop at the Ace down the road...its a nice, small building so I can find my stuff quickly...and they have good grass seed

I don't think this is so true any more. It's like the "don't buy gas on Tuesday and the price will go down" or the "don't buy gas from Shell on Tuesday and they will loose money" silliness from years ago. Many of the goods and services we buy are "fungible" and/or there are alot of monopolies (or near monopolies). It's hard to get a Big Company to change when they own most of places you shop (under different brands and store names) So you boycott store X , by buying from store Y but the parent company has ties to both. Boycotts only work if you totally stop using the product or service.

I should have also added "persistent". if you just skip one day then consume twice as much the next time, it does nothing.

I went to Home Depot today. I had about $400 in gift cards to use up.
Their prices were awful and their selection was kinda thin. I'll be going to Lowes after the cards are used up.

To be honest Lowes and Home Depot seem to be about the same. I do usually find attendants in HD to be more helpful when I ask specific questions. Menards is good too, but you can also buy all kind of food stuff there if you get hungry wandering around there. HD usually has a good foodstand at the door too!

Trump attacks ‘Radical Left’ for boycotting, a tactic he has repeatedly advocatedPresident Trump on Tuesday night came to the defense of Home Depot, calling those who choose not to shop at the home improvement retailer because of financial ties between its billionaire co-founder, Bernard Marcus, and his presidential campaign “vicious and totally crazed.” He painted Marcus, 90, as a victim of left-wing Democrats wielding “one of their often used weapons.” If boycotting is a tactic favored by the left, it is a predilection shared by Trump. In his time as president and as a private person, he has repeatedly advised consumers to shun brands he says have slighted him personally, interfered with his agenda or harmed the national interest. Actually for most of the items I might go to a Home Depot or Loews for I use a "Ace Hardware" as my first choice......quicker to get in and out of...plenty of help who will actually walk me to where ever....prices right in line....rather then all the marching back and forth... As far as this individual...as the chains management says...this individual has been gone from decision making for years...that he owns lots of their stock...no biggie and as a extremely wealthy individual, $ 5 plus Billion, not surprised he would lean toward a Republican, though personally I feel the Donald is a Republican only in name only.... His reasonings for such support I could argue him over but why waste my time... The Donald he supports is for me a sleeze...I would rather not have a sleeze as my President...for this guy and many Americans, I guess "Sleeze" is ok.... Would I boycott HD over this guys political whatever? Of course not...in fact at 90 years young...there is a good chance he might not even be around come 2020....me either when u think about it....in fact that includes us all here...Not a big fan of boycotts in general actually.

Menards is good too, but you can also buy all kind of food stuff there if you get hungry wandering around there. HD usually has a good foodstand at the door too! I think it depends on the store.
I don't buy stuff a HD anymore for reasons stated above, but Lowes doesn't have a rental counter, and when we needed to rent a tile saw for the small tiling job that almost resulted in our divorce, DH first rented one from the HD near the biggest mall in our area. Turns out, the guy running that rental counter had only been there a few months, never worked as a contractor, didn't know anything about tools, and didn't know what a tile saw was. He ended up renting a tile saw to DH and didn't give him the special grounded electrical cord tile saws require.
However, the HD in a more rural community maybe 20 minutes away had a very large equipment rental area staffed by 3 very knowledgeable guys. I called in advance and the guy knew exactly what I needed, and when I got there, they had already put the tile saw and all the necessary parts onto a cart for me, and, even though the counter was very busy with out DIY people, were able to spend 10 minutes walking me through how to use the saw, how to set it up, the safety features, etc.
Apparently, the first store in the more upscale neighborhood does very little equipment rental, but the other one gets a big profit from their rental counter, and makes sure to staff it with well qualified people. So I guess that's a decision the store manager makes, maybe - but if I do need anything from HD again, I certainly know which one I'm going to.

Home Depot is one of the places where I buy supplies for my business, Some of home Depot prices are better than some of the wholesale suppliers that I deal with.
I have been buying from Home Depot for over thirty years.

Sorry Friend but I don't believe u are in all those businesses of yours...able to spend so much time on this site and are really a wanna bee trying to impress folks as to your great success... I admit I do spend a bit of time a day here but am a senior...long time retired ….gives me a home to vent occasionally....interrelate with others since I am pretty much confined to my home because of a stroke about three years ago..have a aid for eight hours a day for meals..very light cleaning...washing of clothes and such...Heavy cleaning every two weeks with a service...
