We are going to die, our AC went out again. It was 92 today and high humidity. Right now its 70 out and 97% humidity. I'm sure we can't get anything done till next week. OH MY GOSH, this will be an oven. We have ceiling fans in every room and we can add more fans, but you just cannot combat that humidity. We have not had issues with this system till the last few weeks, I hope its not going to be serious. But it is 16 years old, house was built in 2003. And to replace it would be something like $20k, ouch. I vote for a nice hotel in town.

Clearing out the attic and garage, loading what we are keeping to get up to TN. We are hoping to have the FL house complete and on the market in 2-4 weeks. Hot, humid, sweaty, grungy, grimy work today.

Swim practice was normal time this morning, so I did that. Running laundry and will wash floor and vacuum rugs and finish cleaning the bathrooms. Hope to wash the car later, when it isn't a gazillion degrees out there. Dinner is grilled shrimp and scallops, roasted corn on the cob, salad and pie.

If we leave now, we should easily be able to make it to your place for dinner!

It's running this morning. Hubs thinks its freezing up. He said likely a little pump going out, we will see its cooling down nicely so far.
He said he will get the motorhome out and we can go out there if we want. Hasn't been run for sometime anyway so won't hurt to get it out. I hope to go south next Jan and Feb or maybe March. Need to go further south where its warmer.
Well going to give myself my shot this morning, its a half dose. I'm in good shape and down to 2 antibiotics left so want to see how I do. This will give me a chance to see if I have a similar reaction again. Even if I do should not be as severe. So here goes nothing in a bit. Has to warm for 45 minutes.

Ran to the grocery store. The under 18 yr old checker was wearing a Trump MAGA 2020 tshirt. I called the manager as soon as I got in my car. Not appropriate dress for a business and Kroger will be receiving an email as well.
Making a dip I haven't had in probably 20 yrs. Hope my friends like it. Had to contact my mom for the recipe and she said she hasn't had it in forever either.

Ran the traditional 5K road race. Now making a big breakfast before heading for the beach for a bit. Need to make a dessert, an appetizer, and food for ODS and his DGF before heading to a rather obligatory annual clambake. Steeling myself for the snarky comments one attendee has a habit of making. I’d skip it, but it’s extended family I only see this one time each year. Going to take the high road and dig deep for some patience and grace because sticks and stones...🙄

I'm working. I tend to work on all holidays because more work tends to be available because other people aren't working.

So is BBQ for the 4th basically a Southern thing? Most of the nation does not consider Boston butt in a crock barbeque. Just sayin.... Barbeque is truly celebrated from sea to shining sea! If there is not a grill with maybe some hickory, oak or pecan wood/chips and either some great dry rub, or an old brush with family recipe sauce to put on it during the cooking process, some people would not be very happy. To each their own I have the dry rub. And a good sauce to mix in with the pulled pork when it is finished cooking. This is comparable to preparing it in the oven since it isn't being cooked in liquid. But BBQ to me is actually the meat, not the process of cooking it. We don't say that we are going to BBQ some hamburgers. We call that grilling. But I guess that's the Southerner in me. A good sauce with tender pork is BBQ.

Maybe catch a movie mid-day and then brats on the grill + potato salad we made tonight. And a lot of prayers that the unofficial neighborhood fireworks and gunfire don't kill any of us. Watch the Boston Pops and Boston and New York fireworks on TV. Won't watch DC celebration since it's been politized. I bet you would have been the same way when JFK had Pershing missles in the parade. Wonder how many of you back then would say hell no, it is politicized! Was that on the 4th? No. Until now, the 4th has been a non-political holiday that did not divide Americans. Shame on anyone who thinks politicizing it is OK

Well, the new season of Stranger Things released and the kids are both gone, so I guess I have my answer of what I'm going to do today!

I got out the loud fan to use tonight to try to soothe Lucy. In my FB memories, it appears I used that two years ago and thought it helped.

My DH and I just started watching Legion this week, and now we're all into it, so Stranger Things may have to wait. The show reminds me a bit of ST, but a little more wacky and a lot less 80's.

I asked my 6 yo if he wanted to go to the beach for a little while today, and he was like, "I don't know", so we're probably doing a whole lot of nothing today. We do have to eat something, regardless, so I suppose we should figure that out. My DH invited MIL for a cool out sometime this weekend, but fortunately it looks like not today.

I saw a recipe this morning for bacon chicken ranch kebabs so I made some for lunch on the grill. Going to a baseball game tonight and there is a fireworks show after the game. I didn't take tomorrow off work, but I am working from home and so many people are off that it should be a very light day for me. There were several places around the city with fireworks on the 3rd. Had I not spent money on the baseball tickets already I would have gone to see them yesterday. I haven't gone out to see fireworks in several years. I just hope this baseball game doesn't drag on for hours and hours. We almost always leave them early so I am in for a long night.

DH and I plan to sleep in the guestroom downstairs because it's quieter. I think I'll take our floor fan and run it there. Might help Cass.

Just finished shoveling some ribs and watermelon and feta salad in my face. DH is eating turkey tenderloins that I threw on the grill for him. We were going to go to his brother's house but it's over 90 degrees and too hot for him. So he'll sit on his ass in front of the tv while I'll go out and sweat mine off in the yard. Our town isn't doing fireworks until Saturday. There is a carnival happening on the town common but hitting it up by yourself is not a load of fun. The cats don't seem to care about the fireworks. I think they're used to loud noises because of me so eh.

Went to the neighborhood parade. It was much longer than usual. I found a spot in the shade. Then had a couple of bratwurst and corn on the cob.

Awwww! Instead of watching fireworks, some Florida inmates will be cuddling dogs this Fourth of July. Dogs often get frightened and anxious because of fireworks and other loud noises from July Fourth celebrations. So Brevard County designed a program to comfort the dogs as well as "help add purpose to the lives of inmates incarcerated at the Brevard County Jail." Inmates on the jail's chain gang and other work crews will read to, play with and give treats to dogs at the Animal Care Center during the peak hours of celebration on Thursday, Sheriff Wayne Ivey said in a statement on Facebook. www.cnn.com/2019/07/04/us/florida-inmates-cuddle-dogs-july-4-trnd/index.html

A quiet day here and that's OK. I got home Tuesday from a week with DS, DDIL and the kids and I'm still recovering. I did a lot with the 5-year old and the 2-year old so DDIL could take care of the baby.
So- I finished unpacking, went to the gym, read a good book, took a nap and cleaned the kitchen. A fireworks display is typically visible from my bedroom window if I want to watch it tonight.

So far just relaxing at home. Was going to go see fireworks that the town lets off on the hill. It is walking distance, but right now Mother Nature is doing her own fireworks.

It turned out to be a gorgeous sunny day in the upper 80's. My friend sent out a text to some of us to join her at the marina. One of my other friends took the first boat ride, and left for another party as we were arriving. We went for a longer than expected boat ride, though stayed on the inland lake and didn't venture to lake Michigan. My kids loved it! It was their first real boat ride (besides the giant ferry boat at Disney). I was a little nervous that they might get seasick, but neither had any problems with that.
So with that, and then a quick dip in the pool, then a quick detour on the way home to check out the beach on lake Michigan, there was no time left to cook dinner, so we're getting pizza. That's super American, right?
