And invite them to the White House. And admire their ‘real border wall’. And get our propaganda network to say they aren’t so bad.
After joking with Putin about ‘getting rid of’ journalists and saying you believe the Saudi prince over your CIA...
Just a normal G20...

Wasn't the debate some time back that Trump was going to get us all killed by getting into a war with NK. So what is wrong with Trump meeting with Kim at the DMZ?

It sends the message that you can bring the President of the United States of America to your country if you have nuclear weapons and the means to launch them at the US.

Bold prediction time, prior to the 2020 election, something is signed that formally ends the Korean War.

I wouldn't be surprised if you are right that Kim and President Trump sign something but reality is that would not "formally" end it. Congressional approval would be required and I don't see the House "having time to fully study and vote" before the election.

I think that they could sell it as purely an election stunt unless it included some significant give by North Korea. And if it does include that, President Trump should get credit for it. Enough for a second term? That would be the question.

Didn't Trump stop the joint SK/US sea maneuvers around the Korean Peninsula after his first visit with Kim, and Kim gave up nothing except some old missile site they weren't using anymore?
If Trump signs another agreement with NK, giving up some of the sanctions and then gets nothing in return, it will indeed by an election issue, but not a pro-Trump one.

North Korea's nuclear weapons are the only thing it has going for Kim and the country to keep them in the news. NK disarms itself and they become some backwater country few will ever hear of again. Kim won't stand for that. Three generations of brainwashed citizens, especially its military, will be hard to turn into a South Korea economy and civilization.

If Kim visits The White House he’s going to want to go to an NBA game, will he be allowed or will it be like Khrushchev and Disneyland?

Trump has met Kim several times. Has he even mentioned the citizens Kim has tortured and killed? Has he mentioned the AMERICAN CITIZEN who Kim tortured and killed? Nah, Otto Warmbier wasn't important. Besides, he was asking for it. He took a poster. Meanwhile, Trump and Little Kimmie are in love.

The one thing that I think, Kim is weaseling for is money,,
Trying to weasel money, like NK has done before,, I don't think Trump will give him any money. So we will go thru another one of Kim's tantrums! when that does not work then he will try friendly again.

Kim won't stand for that. Three generations of brainwashed citizens, especially its military, will be hard to turn into a South Korea economy and civilization. Kim and the military government keep the NKs in line by claiming they are constantly in active warfare with the US. Every citizen is brainwashed to believe the US is their sworn enemy and every ounce of their national wealth and resources has to be spent fighting us.
If Kim gave up his nukes and made a peace treaty with the US, the NK peasants would expect to see some improvement in their lives, since they wouldn't constantly be on military alert. Kim can never allow that to happen, because he would lose his iron grip on the country, and if that slips, he'll be dangling from a street lamp in no time.

Trump already gave up joint military maneuvers with SK to Kim and got nothing for it. Will you be ok with it if he gives up some of the sanctions against NK and gets nothing for that in return, too? Just so Trump can continue to claim to be big buddies with Kim?

Moving the below quote from a duplicate subject thread to here, the first thread created regarding trump's visit to North Korea. And you know what is really funny to me? If President Obama had done the same thing....conservatives heads would be exploding! Conservatives hated it when Obama said he’d meet with North Korea. Guess what they say now.
And some conservative writers are confused by their peers’ shift. After President Donald Trump’s surprise announcement on Thursday that he had agreed to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, some conservatives wondered why they were abandoning the position they took with President Barack Obama. Obama’s comments in 2008 and 2009 about talking to strongmen “without preconditions,” and his efforts to work with both North Korea and Cuba’s communist governments, were greeted by conservatives with scorn. So it seemed odd to some on the right that Trump doing the same was being feted as a victory for American foreign policy. “I’m not certain why meeting with Kim without preconditions is suddenly a grand coup when we would have gone nuts had Obama done the same,” said conservative pundit Ben Shapiro, who criticized Obama back in 2009 and is now often critical of Trump. National Review’s Jim Geraghty wondered the same. “Remember how much we condemnedthen-senator Barack Obama’s pledge to ‘meet separately, without precondition, during the first year of your administration, in Washington or anywhere else, with the leaders of Iran, Syria, Venezuela, Cuba and North Korea, in order to bridge the gap that divides our countries?’ That wasn’t wrong,” Geraghty wrote. Complete article here: Conservatives hated it when Obama said he’d meet with North Korea. Guess what they say now.

Bold prediction time, prior to the 2020 election, something is signed that formally ends the Korean War. Similar to the 'Iran agreement' from Obama ? Quote; Jun 08, 2018 · Obama took lying to new heights with the Iran deal. President Barack Obama, with Secretary of State John F. Kerry, speaks to the media about the Iran nuclear deal on Sept. 10, 2015. When it comes to the Iran nuclear deal, the Obama administration increasingly appears to have been a bottomless pit of deception.
Quote; When it comes to the Iran nuclear deal, the Obama administration increasingly appears to have been a bottomless pit of deception.
First, President Barack Obama failed to disclose to Congress the existence of secret side deals on inspections when he transmitted the nuclear accord to Capitol Hill. (They were only uncovered by chance when then-Rep. Mike Pompeo (R-Kan.) and Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) learned about them during a meeting with International Atomic Energy Agency officials in Vienna.) Then, we learned that the Obama administration had secretly sent a plane to Tehran loaded with $400 million in Swiss francs, euros and other currencies on the same day Iran released four American hostages, which was followed by two more secret flights carrying another $1.3 billion in cash.
Now, in a bombshell revelation, Republicans on the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, led by Sen. Rob Portman (R-Ohio), have revealed in a new report that the Obama administration secretly tried to help Iran use U.S. banks to convert $5.7 billion in Iranian assets, after promising Congress that Iran would not get access to the U.S. financial system — and then lied to Congress about what it had done. www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/obama-took-lying-to-new-heights-with-the-iran-deal/2018/06/07/b75f72d2-6a7c-11e8-9e38-24e693b38637_story.htmlThe bolded is for those who make the "It was their money" argument on what happened with the Obama/Iran agreement.

No prediction on what goes in it, just that there will be one. I’m actually feeling hopeful that something positive could happen out of this. My hope as a US citizen is we get our troops out of South Korea and the Middle East and if this works to move the needle that way I’m all for it.
