So, now that I've not been drinking or taking any more of my prescription medication I've been going to bed earlier and earlier. Good quality sleep, do not even wake up much during the night.
However, I feel like I'm hungover all the time. I wake up groggy and tired. I think I should go back to popping pills and drinking booze. At least then I wouldn't feel hungover.
My wife and I have been totally exhausted every night. How about you?

I go to sleep when I am tired and awake when I am not. It is nice not to have a schedule. Doc, years ago, I read that you sleep in approximately 90 minute cycles and that as long as you complete a whole cycle, you will awake refreshed. Try to tailor your sleep time to complete those cycles.

I dunno Blue, I love work and I love having a schedule. Am much as retirement sounds good and all I would be lost without some sort of schedule. I wish Nance lol That's for the girlfriends.

I'd LOVE more sleep. I usually go to bed around 10-11 and gt up 6:30-7... however for some reason I'm exhausted and have a headache every morning. Maybe it has something with dd getting me up every 1.5-2 hours throughout the night But you might actually be getting too much sleep. I know that pre-kids if I slept too much or took too long of a nap I felt horrible.

I know that pre-kids
Yeah, I don't think we ever really recovered from lack of sleep from children. I know I'm not getting too much. I wonder if you can ever really catch up on sleep past a certain point.

I wonder if the quality of your sleep maybe isn't as good as you think it is? Something could be interupting your cycle without you being aware of it.

Could be but I'm not aware of it. I don't snore (at least I haven't in quite some time) so I dont' suspect apnea or anything. I have been waking up a lot due to tedonitits in my elbows and shoulders but that has been somewhat recently and I've been tired for years.

Even mild alcohol withdrawal can be disruptive to sleep... Give yourself time.
You can set up a non-work based schedule if that helps regulate your life.

Good sleep is better than good sex. Great sex, however, is better than good sleep.

Wait, doesn't one lead to the other? The ultimate win-win? ;D
Seriously, Doc, the change in meds and alcohol alone might be responsible. I'm not suggesting you resume either one, mind you. You are also working out more, aren't you? Do you exercise a lot at night, close to bedtime, by chance? If so, that could be one culprit. Exercise right before bed works against a good night's sleep for some folks, though I never had issues with it myself.

Good sleep is better than good sex. Great sex, however, is better than good sleep. Sex, whether good or great, is the perfect way to relax before attempting to sleep. ;D

I seriously doubt that Nance. I don't really drink all that much and I had only been taking those pain meds for about a week. I've been tired since my son was born lol. And no I don't exercise close to bed time.

Dang, that is one active boy, if he has been wearing you out like that! I never had kids, so I cannot imagine how tiring the job of raising them must be. It really is 24/7, on top of everything else. I have no idea how parents get it done. Since you've been working out, I recall you mentioning dietary changes as well. No changes in bloodwork, right? Nothing like an iron deficiency, or a lack of any of the B vitamins? Either of those could be an underlying cause of chronic tiredness.

Nance lol it's the kid. I'm perfectly healthy. If you look at any picture of a man before and after children it's almost comical. They get that tired run down look with that I have kids far off stare. Wife is same way, we're both kid exhausted.
