Yup, while any US citizen would lose custody of their kids if they did the same thing. Those in charge are hate-filled little Nazis, aren't they?

These conditions are horrible for the children. However I took care of my younger brother when we were growing up. That is what is done. But I also realize the system has been overwhelmed by sheer numbers.
Throughout this whole situation several questions have come to mind.
How many of these children have been 'dropped off' by parents or other family members, knowing the kids are at least in the US.
How many incoming ports have the facilities to welcome/house a thousand a day.
People complaining that lights are left on 27/7 and the kids being locked in cage type bedrooms. This keeps the weirdos from attacking and abusing the kids.
How long will it take to build dorm type family facilities and how much money to support it.

Considering that they are turning away donations of all the basics that they have been denying to the kids, it doesn't appear that they are trying too hard. The kids aren't being dropped off, they are being taken from their parents and family members by our government and then dumped in these facilities.

it would be easy to NOT be overwhelmed by a problem that you care about.
according to the conservative IBD Times, it costs about $134/day to house an "illegal immigrant". there are roughly 50k detained at the border as we speak. that is $2.4B/year.
remind me again how much Trump just stole from the military for his border wall.
again, this is a soluble problem. you just have to care.
and we don't care.
that is the ACTUAL problem.

"The (sic) are here Illegally, Who cares if they don't soap."
You should.
Unclean people can and do spread germs and viruses-first within the detention centers, and then passed on to those who work there, and then passed on to the general public.

I can't help but notice you have no suggestions or answers to my questions.
Considering that they are turning away donations
I haven't heard this. I know in this area donations are actively sought and accepted

If we ever needed more proof that the GOP is only interested in protecting/saving babies who haven't even been born, this is it.
They really don't care if children die. Doesn't matter to them & they like it even more when it's brown children. The proof is staring us in the face. But there are none so blind as those who refuse to see.

Wayfair employees plan walkout to oppose furniture sales to migrant detention facilitiesEmployees of the Boston-based online housewares giant Wayfair announced Tuesday that they would stage a walkout at the company’s Back Bay offices Wednesday to protest the company’s decision to sell furniture to operators of facilities for migrant children detained at the southern US border. According to a Wayfair employee who asked not to be identified for fear of retribution, Wayfair employees learned last Wednesday that a $200,000 order of bedroom furniture had been placed by BCFS, a government contractor that has been managing camps at the border. “We were disheartened and concerned about Wayfair’s business” with BCFS, the employee said, and so employees decided to act. Within hours, a group of 50 employees began drafting a letter to the company’s executive leadership, with included cofounders Niraj Shah, Steve Conine, and the entire board, outlining their concerns. More than 547 employees signed the letter before it was handed off to the leadership team. Complete story here: Wayfair employees plan walkout to oppose furniture sales to migrant detention facilities

No offense intended, OldCoyote. I've just met too many people who believe in the urban myth that the government is just waiting to swoop in and help if your spouse or child has a major catastrophe. Not happening. You have to be "dirt floor poor" to get any help, and even then, have a nice wait...

Counter questions: (i) What proof do you have that more than a handful or even any of these kids "have been 'dropped off' by parents or other family members" aside from FOX news says so? (ii) do you really believe that the only way to protect kids from being attacked by "the weirdos from attacking and abusing the kids." is to lock them up?
If so you really have 0% confidence in our ability to do the right thing, and that is a pathetic, sorry excuse for locking up kids 24/7

From what I understand , these are children...some as young as infants, but many in the early pre teen ages...sleeping on bare floors...Mylar coverings for warmth, no pillows, mattresses...many possible being sexually assaulted by older kids...no washing facilities...same with medical and nutrition needs... and the answer for these abuses...from so many.... "Well they are here illegally" I believe we as a country have gone to war to stop such doings in other countries...if not these exact happenings, then similar doings...and our leadership blames all this on the political party not in power....[sheesh]…. During WW2 we blamed similar and worse atrocities on the average German...couldn't understand why no one spoke out. Objected.[reality they would have been collected themselves and punished actually] Well now some Americans are speaking out...believe our Congress just authorized $4.7 Billion for the care of these kids...[thats billion friends] and our leader may veto that expenditure.....and his base will as a group will support him on that veto...[shudder....]

I think dezii is agreeing with me ………….. Without the TIME and funding to put together suitable housing for the thousands that are trying to come through the southern border, yes these bedrooms (cages) are what we have to deal with.. I don't know what area 'resolution' lives in but I hope he is actively seeking to help with the donation of basics.
I live in the Phoenix area and I know of people bringing their kids to this area. Kids are being 'separated' from their adult escort and the adults getting on transportation to return south of the border. Yes, kids are being dropped off.

Lights are left on “to prevent the wierdos from attacking and abusing the kids” Sorry - the kids are being told to look after babies and toddlers. Clearly, the lights are being deliberately left on to keep children from sleeping -as is having them try to sleep on concrete floors with only aluminum blankets to try and stay warm. No decent human being would try to excuse this abuse of innocent children. It cannot be explained away. It is exactly what it is. Gov’t institutionalized child abuse. Either you are OK with it or you are not.

No, wherever they are being 'separated' from family.
