I'm starting to feel like my appliances are all talking to each other and planning a synchronized demise...
A couple months ago my pressure pump went out. I enjoyed plumbing repair in the 30 degree temps only to then have the tank go out and get to do it all over again a week later! I stupidly used pipe dope on one of the connections because someone suggested it, and then a third freezing day of plumbing repair finished up the job when I had to re-plumb that line with teflon tape.
Happy to be done, I went to wash clothes and my washing machine died. Cheapest one I could find and have delivered was nearly $600.
Happy to be able to wash clothes again, my bathroom sink shot up poop gas when I flushed the toilet a couple of days ago... That's never good.
So, rented an auger and did the main line ourselves. Disgusting and gagging project, but the line's clear and I still have standing water in the pipe - septic tank is full and not draining for some reason. Or it has an internal clog. Or the diverter is clogged.
Shopped around and the "cheapest" guy is coming tomorrow for my $700 pump out. (Locally they want $800 to pump, $150 to come here, plus $150 an hour for anything else they do onsite. It's insanely priced due to lack of local septage disposal. It all goes to a large city 100 miles south of here. I got a tip from a local plumber to call the septic pumper in that city because he was cheaper. I did and he's happy to make the trip.)
I want to spend my extra income on paint and flooring materials. So, if the damn appliances could decide they are happy again, that would be really nice!
Ironically, my mom's been having the same experience. Her AC went out and is going to be really expensive. Since it was hot in the house, she went out and rode her lawn mower in her pasture and somehow managed to catch the mower on fire and burn it to the ground. Turned on her solar for the pool and found a guyser in the yard a few hours later.
I swear they talk to each other and know when we don't want to spend money on them. lol
