In an area where the pot growers are winning nearly 100% of the local battles, this one makes me smile.
We had elderly neighbors when we moved here. They lived down next to where my kids would get off the bus in the afternoon and if for some reason we weren't home, then they would often drive my kids home.
The man was really nice and would always wave and say hello. When he had a stroke, he drove himself to our house and we managed to find his family and ambulance for him.
He was in his mid-90s and we would drive by and he was out cutting tree limbs in the summer heat. He took excellent care of the house he had built and loved this area.
Last spring his heirs sold to the growers without an understanding of what's going on here. Apparently, their realtors didn't warn them about not carrying the paper on a loan to the growers and all the BS they like to pull.
So, they sold 4 parcels to them, took a large down payment, and carried.
Payment one rolled around and the growers never paid it. Growers set up a bunch of greenhouses and trashed both properties. One day we drive by and the greenhouses are gone. WTF? They each had over 100 maturing plants and that wasn't a small undertaking to move.
Apparently, when they didn't pay the heirs filed foreclosure and now own the house again. Growers got booted and took their plants with them. At least someone won a battle.
