So.. who here has actually read the redacted report? I did. I don't want him impeached, I want him to throw a clot. The odds might be better on that.

Hell yes he should be held accountable but the House impeaching him and the Senate allowing him to stay in office is sending a much more dangerous message for the future. How? ... If President Trump is impeached and not removed by vote of a solid Republican block in the Senate, it would send the message that Presidents in the future will be protected by a partisan block in spite of justification for removal.

Impeachment is a political process.
If people want to waste political capital in blocking impeachment let them.
AFTER public hearings the people will want him out. There was a massive exodus of independents to the other side during Nixon hearings.
Let the people want impeachment and the republicans in office spend their capital keeping trump.
THEN we vote...

Impeachment is a political process. ... Unfortunately you are more correct than I wish you were. I would, however, change it to "Impeachment has become a political process", to the detriment to our nation.

Did you see where some repubs made an ad for fox news about trump and impeachment? They are hoping if people realize there are people that respect the rule of law they may think about it. People are not getting the truth on there.
Murdoc was made to pull his new station on the british station for the same reason and the stuff he is doing here, they wouldn't put up with me.

? What kind of process was it if not a political one? Constitutional The constitution covers law and politics. Impeachment is not a legal process. The constitution specifically limits it to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust, or Profit under the United States... a political punishment, not a legal one. Semantics is likely playing a significant role in all the various ways we are disagreeing on this thread.

I don't think that the constitution covers 21st century politics. Maybe. But it isn't like we have always been peacefully bi-partisan. We haven't gotten to the point of Brooks and Sumner...yet. And somehow our constitution was enough to get us through.

As I read the honor and respect given to those who served our country on this 75th Anniversary of D-Day, I think it is important to remember what made that landing necessary.

I'm listing to a pod cast about Spiro Agnew, someone I admit I had completely forgotten about. Forgot all about the scandal he got involved in (totally separate from the Watergate scandal) from an elaborate bribe network he had going, starting back from when he was the governor of Maryland. One thing mentioned in the pod cast was that Nixon and Agnew won the 1972 by 520 electoral votes to 17 for poor George McGovern - a landslide. Then by early 1973 Agnew was being investigated for his kick back scheme and resigned in Oct 1973, and in August 1974, Nixon resigned due to Watergate, to avoid impeachment. So - historically, tides have turned very quickly against presidents. Perhaps it could be possible with this one, too.

All people have to do is listen. My favorite trumpism of the week this week- "I didn't know she was nasty." trump, discussing Meghan Markle with an interviewer. "I never said she was nasty!" trump, replying to a question as to what he said about Markle. "I didn't know she was nasty." trump, on tape, on the recording of the interview where he said Markle was nasty. I mean, the man is cuckoo for cocoa puffs. You can't make this stuff up, large and small. I would truly love to see movie theaters and TV channels showing the movie Gaslight. I think it's sorely needed to be watched by many, though fear it would go over the heads of most who need to see it.

Can anyone explain to me how McConnell keeps getting elected? I wish he would throw a clot as much as I wish Trump would.

Why can’t elections solve this? The president just welcomed any dirt any foreign government wanted to give him on live tv... he will cheat again. And why not? No consequences are apparently going to be imposed.
