Interesting. Of course the is going to be in the long term details of having a privately built section of wall along the border.

I didn't read the entire article but I'm assuming that the assorted permits weren't filed since they were doing this as a surprise or whatever.

Ok, so I'm thinking of a bunch of potential problems here. Permits. Safety issues. If a section of that wall falls, and hurts someone, since it's being privately built, who is liable? And, what if those building the wall aren't welcome on someone's property, and firearms are used to chase them off of private property? The options are endless here...

The group hastily “purchased the rights” to the land and went at it Friday evening. “We had to catch them by surprise,” says Bannon, who predicts residents are “gonna freak out” when they see what was erected over the past two days.

Believe that is answering concerns on permits and land usage....As far a construction of / quality of...am guessing it was built with accepted specs followed...

Do you think he checked the legal status of all the crew? How hilarious would it be if he used undocumented labor?

I'm sure they are using undocumented. I read the same article they have issued them a desist order, bet they are ignoring it. I was going to say what fool would build anything for trump.
One of the rally cities he went to down there he owes over $400k for police, etc and his group hasn't paid it.

Out of curiosity is there a lot of illegal crossing where they built the piece of wall. Supposedly they asked where the heaviest crossing area was and were directed to this area.

Wouldn't it be funny if the boarder patrol directed them there just to get them out of their hair and there are zero illegals coming from there? I know if I was a boarder agent I wouldn't want a bunch of Go Fund me yahoos running around while I am trying to do my job. I certainly wouldn't direct them to a high traffic area and risk one of them getting attacked or worse then suing my ass.

Per Dezi's article He says his group asked local authorities what is the most dangerous part of the border with Mexico, and they were pointed to this precarious mountain strip, “where the cartels and asylum seekers are coming in” through a gap between two 21-mile strips of completed wall.

Local authorities, or the militia vigilante group that patrols the area and detains immigrants and put video of it online, and are also affiliated with the group?

(CNN)City officials in Sunland Park, New Mexico, have delivered a "cease and desist" order to the owners of land where a private border wall is being built. The project doesn't have proper permits to proceed because an application filed was incomplete, Sunland Park spokesman Peter Ibarbo told CNN. "The rules apply to everyone," Ibarbo said. "That's the process." ==================================== www.cnn.com/2019/05/29/us/private-border-wall-permits/index.html

I don't think they can do that anyway without the Corps of Engineers involved can they?
I mean it won't have all the requirements the rest is supposed to have. This is an example of putting money down a rathole.
Privately funded border wall built at El Paso: 'Why wouldn't we allow it?' land owner asks
Aaron Martinez, El Paso Times Published 12:39 p.m. MT May 27, 2019 | Updated 5:48 p.m. MT May 27, 2019
The article explains its a half mile segment they built with it going 7 ft deep and 20 ft high with sensors. It goes up a 300 ft incline, they said hundreds of illegals go across it. The owner of a brick company there let them do it. $6 to $8 million dollars? The Fisher guy built it. I guess it attaches 2 other sections, they said this gap was left because it was to rugged to build on.

In my town, technically you can't replace an old ceiling fan with a nee ceiling fan without getting a permit. I believe that applies to all political parties. I can't see how building a 10 foot wall would be exempt.

Yeah, not a lot is enforced down there except in HOA's. That's why they have so many, Houston doesn't even have zoning! Most places had no building codes.
In this instance I doubt anything can be done. Let it go, private owners can do whatever, they have enough money sounds like for 3 1/2 mile segments. That guy said he had been assaulted had issues with his business. He said that section left out funneled them through his property. But he owned a 1/2 mile? Quite a bit of land.

Don't build where you don't have permission or authority. Government agency forces open private border wall gateA federal agency has forced open a gate in the privately funded wallnear the US-Mexico border, saying the group that built it didn't follow proper permitting procedures. The US section of the International Boundary and Water Commission says the gate was blocking a government-owned levee road, and that the group known as We Build the Wall constructed the gate on federal land without authority. "It's not the border wall that we have a problem with," spokeswoman Lori Kuczmanski said. "The problem is the gate is on federal property. You just can't come in and build a gate on somebody's property without asking -- especially not giving them the keys and walking away from it. It's not right." Representatives of the commission locked the gate open Monday afternoon, she said. Full article here: agency forces open private border wall gate

the STATE should have trouble with the unpermitted wall on private land.
I can't even build a fence without a permit.
