Ha ha ha "Soon to be empty". In Atlanta? I don't think people are that principled. I 75 will still have traffic for 18 months after people stop existing. So I have now this mental picture of cockroaches pushing cars off I-75 long after we have become extinct. Our rallying cry needs to change from Marge Simpson's "think of the children" to the more appropriate "think of the cockroaches" Was that Marge Simpson, or the pastor's wife, Helen Lovejoy?

It was Marge in that episode where they covered up Michelangelo's David (at which point sanity started to make a comeback)

I don't know if this thread got there yet, but it's not just Georgia. Texas and Ohio too. And like 3 or 4 more. To my knowledge nothing has passed in Texas (though I could be wrong). There have been some attempts but I don't believe anything has passed. A lot of the legislators refused to sponsor bills which made it a felony, etc. I believe the last bill was passed back in 2013 which made an abortion legal up to 20 weeks. There has been a lot of stuff flying around during this legislative session but I don't think anything has actually passed (though again, I could be wrong). A lot of this garbage was trying to be slipped into health bills in hopes that it wouldn't get recognized. That is the real threat here...at some point something bad is going to fly under the radar. I am not talking specifics here. I am just talking in general terms.

I will boycott all three states. Period. What does a "boycott" of a "state" mean to you? Does it just mean you won't cross the border? Or does it get into the "I won't buy a product made there, or a company who does business there, etc"? How deep does it go?

Other than that I didn't find a whole heck of lot based in Alabama...

Alabama's largest trading partner is Canada. We should boycott everything from there. Hit them where it really hurts.

I just drove through Alabama a couple weekends ago, there isn't a whole lot in Alabama, period, once you get out of the cities and away from Gulf Shores.
Lots of ominous banjo playing, like in Deliverance.

I've never been to Alabama and I'm glad Dnephew1 is no longer a professor at Alabama. He didn't care for southern culture and I'm seeing why, although our stage legislature would like to pass the same bill and probably will next year.

Can you expand on why they should be afraid of him? Particularly given that he's still going to FILM in Georgia, he's just going to "boycott" using Georgia as a production center. How much of his current business uses Georgia as a production center?

Coming from Florida we stopped for Adcock's pecans. Stopped in the ATLANTA suburbs overnight, ate a good barbeque meal at a I think, a family operated place. Filled gas twice in Georgia before leaving for Tennessee. Saw absolutley no one boycotting anything. I 75 was packed form end to end. I guess when people finally stop flying into Atlanta or even connecting flight, we might see some action on a boycott.

Now if the population of Georgia was 10 people, you might have a point (no one is boycotting Georgia).

"Howard and Grazer, who run Imagine Entertainment, told The Hollywood Reporter in an exclusive statement that although they are continuing with their plans to film the movie "Hillbilly Elegy" in Georgia next month, they will boycott the state as a production center if the law goes into effect in January." Nope, I sure didn't.

Please post the quote where he actually said that. I posted what the article said, you're attempting to interpret it into what you wished it would say. If we pretend your interpretation is correct, that's really just a big indictment of the 2 as frontrunners who won't put their money where their mouth is. They don't care about it enough to make a sacrifice of a movie they already planned to film in Georgia, but maybe they'll refuse to film things in Georgia that they had no intention of shooting in Georgia anyways, maybe, in the future. What better way to boycott a state than to go there immediately and spend a bunch of money, then after you've done that, THEN you boycott lol. I'm going to boycott buying chicken raised in inhumane cages...right after I buy a bunch of inhumanely raised chickens because I really want to eat them because they're so tasty...that'll really show them I mean business if I give them a bunch of money and then tell them I'll boycott them some other more convenient time! Here, I'll join the boycott. I'm boycotting Georgia and as such I will NOT buy a home there that I was never going to buy anyways. Feels good to really take a stand! I'm such a social activist.

Yeah you were the one attempting to interpret it wrong... I'm not "interpreting" anything. I'm highlighting specific lines within the article, absolutely no interpretation necessary. You're making up "interpretations" because you've been proven objectively wrong. I'll state it again, quote the specific line from the article which supports your "interpretation". I know, pesky facts, can't be bothered with them when there's a hissyfit to be thrown!

Maybe you could get an understanding for the meaning of some of the words from the article I posted...

Now if the population of Georgia was 10 people, you might have a point (no one is boycotting Georgia). Maybe because the most direct way to get to Florida is through Georgia? Most folks driving through will need to stop for gas, but you can, for example, avoid staying in their hotels if you wish to participate in a boycott. (The only other way to drive to Florida is through Alabama. Nope.)
