I remember that.
My MIL was certain we would all be forced to be Muslims and have to live under Sharia law while my Mom was certain black people would be bussed into middle class neighborhoods like hers and they would be obligated to give the blacks their houses.
Who can forget the 2015 U.S. Army’s Jade Helm conspiracies and all those closed Walmart stores. Fun times. And who can forget the whole Birther thing, with our beloved Trump paying investigators to find the 'real' birth certificate. Eight years of presidential harassment, only ending the day before his first debate with Clinton.
Then the irony of Trump protesting the Mueller investigation as 'Presidential witch hunt' and claiming we need to put procedures in place to prevent this kind of future presidential harassment:
www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/trump-witch-hunt-must-never-be-allowed-to-happen-again/ar-AABfPVa
Then he turns around and tries to get Barr to have the DOJ investigate Biden:
www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/trump-wants-barr-to-consider-investigating-biden-%E2%80%93-giuliani/ar-AABgarj
So I guess it's just a 'witch hunt' when someone is investigating him? Idiot.

So because you know some farmers who sold their land to developers and became rich, every American farmer has the ability to sell their land and become millionaires?
Farm income is down, equipment prices have increased. Hell, even the cost of washers and dryers have jumped thanks to Trump's trade wars.

Keep enjoying your imaginary bubble of happiness where you're doing well and therefore everyone around you is doing well, or else they're too stupid to know how to do well and deserve to be poor.

Annnnnd today every one of those farmer that I grew up around are multi millionaires,, when they sold the farms to the developers!! Good for you! And because you spent the first thirty six years of your life on a farm, it negates all the news. You're a narcissist, just like Trump....it's all about YOU. Farmers have long stood behind Trump's mission to get a better trade deal with Beijing that addresses long-standing issues with what they say are unfair trading practices. But after weeks of optimistic statements by Trump and members of his administration about how trade talks were progressing, Trump abruptly escalated tariffs on $200 billion of Chinese goods last week and opened the door to even more -- prompting Beijing to hit back Monday by raising the tariff rate on $60 billion of US items. "The President of the United States owes farmers like myself some type of plan of action," John Wesley Boyd Jr., a soybean farmer in Baskerville, Virginia, told CNN's Brianna Keilar on Monday. "Farmers were his base. They helped elect this president ... and now he's turning his back on America's farmers when we need him the most," he added. www.cnn.com/2019/05/13/politics/farmers-china-tariffs-trump/index.htmlBut wait! Someone should tell these farmers that AS spent his first 36 years on a farm...so it doesn't matter.

The farm sold for multi millions. It is all high priced houses now!
And I'm sure some farms were on top of oil or natural gas deposits, and some were on rich mineral deposits, and some others, like yours, were right in the path of suburban sprawl and the land suddenly became valuable.
However, for the majority of farmers making a living growing soybeans and corn out of dirt in fly over country, their land is only worth what they can coax to grow out of it, then turn around and sell for a profit.
For them, life is harder due to Trump's tariff fight. You can gloat about your great fortune that you're not one of them, or you can show some compassion to people who, through no fault of their own, are struggling to survive.
Your choice.

Yeah, really, keep your eye on this folks. There are many things about a war with Iran that would be attractive to trump, Bolton, and others on his team. Blowing things up is cool, and helps incumbents win. We are a violent society.

Yeah, really, keep your eye on this folks. There are many things about a war with Iran that would be attractive to trump, Bolton, and others on his team. Bolton and his hawk friends have come up with a plan to send 120,000 troops into the area.
All the reasonable military people who could have kept Trump in check have quit the Admin, leaving Trump, who is too busy tweeting enemies to pay attention, and Bolton, who is lining up his toy soldiers in the WH basement.
thehill.com/policy/defense/policy-strategy/443533-trump-admin-considering-plans-to-send-120000-us-troops-to
In case anyone has forgotten, Bolton was the shit head who pushed the whole 'weapons of mass destruction' false narrative (anyone remember the Nigerian yellowcake uranium forgeries?) that pushed us into the Iraq war. Looks like starting one ME war wasn't enough for him.

Bolton has big ideas. He thinks (still) that we can reform the Middle East to our liking, by force. He thinks this way because of his great education in a US Military Academy, honed and tempered by his extensive wartime service. Um, wait a minute..... He has no military training? No military experience? Oh, shoot. Yes all our previous forays into ME wars have been so amazingly successful and totally worth it !

Again u dislike giving all the facts...just enjoy trying to stir up the masses...believe it's called trolling ...a internet thing. The $ that Obama sent to Iran was their money...$ they gave us for arms when Shah was still in power but arms never delivered...plus interest....The case was going to be heard by international court and all the experts said we, USA, would lose that case...thus Obama ok the return og THEIR moneys....Along with that lets tackle the decision to pull out of IRAQ ..that was a agreement ww made with IRAQ unless IRAQ government wanted us to stay, PM, Malacki, and their parliament, would not agree to have our people be under US laws..[seems it is so elsewhere..protections our people] so had to leave

You can tell them that it was Iran's money until you're blue in the face, but it just doesn't penetrate the Bozone Layer that surrounds them. Next week, AS will be back, claiming that Obama gave Iran billions of dollars. Republicans aren't particularly tethered to reality. They live in their own reality and alternative facts.

Ednkris, Funny that your un-United nations has 4 of the original six signatories to the much needed Iran Treaty. This treaty was a master stroke of diplomacy by Obama and was working well until the belligerent in chief decided to pander to extremists. Now the Iranians are starting their own reneging based on Trumps idiotic withdrawal. How special that we will now be risking war with a country a bit more prepared than Iraq or Afghanistan. They may be more prepared, but the US could still "Kick ass". We could "shock and awe" Tehran just as we did Bagdad. But of course there are great costs to doing so. This is Bolton's wet dream. If we did this we could remake the Middle East, with the acquiescence and help of Saudi and Israel, and probably our client state of Iraq. The Afghan is too disfunctional to do much but "blub, blub". Per his reckoning we would now be able to mold the region to our preferred world order, with US petro-dollars reigning supreme, and the Euro, the Ruble and the Yuan all still out in the cold. Unfortunately, the second casualty of war after the truth are all the well laid plans that went before. This scenario would likely not play out as nicely and neatly as this chicken- hawk dreams it will. However we would certainly face thousands of American casualties, and billions/ trillions in debt over it. NOT a good idea. And for S&G's - can we imagine all the things that could go wrong? It's been about 70 years since end of WW2 and just about most of the leadership, in fact the populace of the two major enemy belligerents, are either dead or super seniors.... Apologies have been made, restitution has been made, good citizenship has been made yet the two countries are still under a cloud... In Asia Japan is still not fully accepted....As far as Germany...when u think of that country , it brings up for the most part, negative images... So if we , USA, get involved militarily again in the world, I wonder if we too will start to be looked at in the same way...especially after Viet Nam, the invasion of Iraq, removal and death of Gaddafi..our recent history has not been that bright in the eyes of the world and under our newest leader..[hey , we elected him] it seems to be going down hill and now it seems with the China question...North Korean problems and the Iranian rhetoric....seems we are not doing anything to improve our image... Seems the "Ugly American" is alive and thriving.. Just saying.

Maybe Old Coyote can give us his analysis of the Hague Tribunal, and what the proper actions should have been. I guess we could have refused and continue to rack up owed interest. Or, was there another option? I have read about it, and I haven't come up with a good solution.
