It would appear from your link that the charges relate to work he did after he left the Whitehouse.
"Craig, who stepped down from the firm Skadden, Arps last year without explanation, is part of the latest investigation by authorities involving the Foreign Agents Registration Act, which requires disclosures by people in the U.S. working for overseas entities.
Another onetime Skadden lawyer, Alex van der Zwaan, and the firm itself have been the focus of earlier action by the Justice Department.
Skadden reached a settlement with the department in January in which it avoided prosecution by agreeing to register under FARA and pay about $4.6 million."
The law firm was working with/for Manafort (Trump's guy) so while I don't see any connection to Trump in this case, I don't understand why you think it has anything to do with the Obama administration. And IF there was some lawyer or official from the former administration that did nefarious/illegal things while officially serving in a government position do you think there is a democrat that would start defending him even if there was overwhelming proof of guilt?
Dont think so OC! I’d say he/she deserves jail time and that’s that!

I think I'll go watch the reruns of the party of Trump during his rallies when his crowd so thought that Mexico was going to pay for his wall and he was going to lock Hillary up.....or maybe before the midterms when he said they were working on middle class tax cuts....oh and Republicans were going to be the party of health care.
