Does anyone have a savings account through Citi?
Do you like it? This keeps popping up on my account that has my Costco Card and another Citi card that I've had for over 20 years.
Here is the offer:
OPEN A CITI® ACCELERATE SAVINGS ACCOUNT
Get 2.36% Annual Percentage Yield.
Take advantage of one of our highest rates, and open a Citi® Accelerate Savings account. Variable APY accurate as of today’s date. For select markets only
The following terms and conditions apply to a single Citi Accelerate Savings account opened in the Access Account package without a checking account on the Citi Mobile® App or on Citi.com.
Account Type: Your savings account will be opened in the Access Account Package as a Citi Accelerate Savings account. A monthly service fee of $4.50 and a $2.50 non-Citibank ATM fee will apply to your account. To waive the $4.50 monthly service fee, maintain a $500+ average monthly balance in your account for the calendar month that ends prior to the last Business Day of your monthly statement period.
PLEASE NOTE: Accounts which have a zero balance for ninety (90) days are subject to closure.

I have the citi doublecash card, but I haven't seen any promotion for their high interest savings. If you end up going with it I would be interested in hearing what other accounts you have to open to qualify. BB&T is merging again and keeps closing branches so I am probably going to need to change banks at some point.
My bank is only offering 1% as its high interest offering, so I have been keeping my extra short term funds stashed in Vanguard Money Market, which has a 2.44% yield.

I keep getting the same offer but haven't signed up yet. I'd be interested in hearing if anyone has. If there are restrictions, etc.

American Express has a 2.10 Personal Savings account with no minimum requirements and no monthly fees. You can have multiple accounts.
I like not having to worry about meeting requirements or worry about actually having to use my own money (minimum balance). It was fast and easy when I transferred to cover the deck project.
But then I'm not really a Citibank fan. I actually forget why, but they did something sometime I didn't like.

Ally, Synchrony, Marcus/Goldman Sachs, Discover, American Express, E-Trade (the bank, not the brokerage) and probably several others are offering interest rates in the 2.1% to 2.25% range with few or no restrictions or fees. Some of them also offer sign-up bonuses as well.
When Goldman Sachs decided to rebrand its online savings division, I would like to have been a fly on the wall at the meeting where they picked their new name. "So, what do we have on the short list that sounds nothing like a bank? Marcus? Great! Let's use that. Marcus by Goldman Sachs. Sounds like a men's fragrance. Perfect!"

I have 2.08 with Alliant Credit Union right now. They are Chicago based but affiliated with other credit unions across the states so you have access to free ATMs. Transfers to other banks are quick and free so I usually just do that.

I switched to Discoverbank last year for the $200 sign on bonus. I don't know what the offer is now. Interest rate is 2.1% and there are no account balance requirements.

I think I missed that when I was looking then up this week. I'm definitely changing banks after this week's debacle, just haven't fully settled on where.

I did find a website that explained which accounts had bonus but don't have a reference. If I find it again, I'll post it. ETA. Since my computer reads my thoughts, it will show up.

It's on savings, not checking. This is the offer now. www.moneysmylife.com/discover-bank-promotions/#Discover_Bank_150_200_Savings_Bonus It used to be $200 for 15K, but now it's up to 25K. When I did it, there was no minimum time the money had to be in there, it was just cummulative deposits the first 30 days, so I put money in, then moved it right out and back to get the minimum.

Chase has some good sign on bonuses too. I'm considering opening up a checking account there just to get the $200, then closing it later since I really like my credit union and have no desire to jump ship. Chase

Capital One has a $500 sign on bonus for opening a checking account there. I don’t know the specifics though.
