Zero force projection capability, meaning no carriers, no serious naval threat and no close allies from which to launch strikes with a weak air capability.
Not to mention Canada is a member of NATO and has a strong tie with the US with NORAD.
Sometimes LOL is appropriate. There are only a handful of countries on the planet that could make a capable military threat to Canada.

Not many details yet, even as to exactly what the transgression was. OK, Canada sent over 100 containers of electronic waste over there. Was that done above board, or illegally? Privately or publicly? Did a Philippine company or agency receive it, legally or otherwise? I find it hard to believe Duterte will send an expeditionary force to attack Canada. Is he trying to bolster his tough guy cred in the region or at home? Not many details because you are using an American source. You need to use a Canadian or Philippine source. Lashes out over Canadian cargo of trashThis is a long running dispute about something that originally happened in 2013 & 2014. I can see why he would be pissed about this.

Canada didn't send it. A private company, owned by Filipinos, sent it.

Considering Grand Fenwick successfully invaded the United States, I will consider them a credible threat. Let's be precise: the fact that they managed to invade the US was THE failure of their grandiose scheme

The BOC filed charges in the Department of Justice against Chronic Plastics owner Adelfa Eduardo and customs brokers Leonora Flores and Sherjun Saldon for violation of Republic Act No. 6969, the Act to Control Toxic Substances and Hazardous Nuclear Waste.
The three were also charged with violating the Tariff and Customs Code of the Philippines for illegally importing waste materials from Canada. Read more: globalnation.inquirer.net/125889/what-went-before-canadian-trash#ixzz5m2mjhp4a Again, it wasn't Canada that shipped the waste. It was Chronic Plastics.

It seems the Canadian PM Trudeauhas been working on a solution for a few years and did not fulfill his promise. From the article: Between 2013 and 2014, Canada shipped tons of waste in 103 containers to the Philippines and ,in the years since, has been pushing the Southeastern Asia country to dispose of it. When Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau visited Manila in 2015, he said that a "Canadian solution" was being developed and said the situation would not occur again, according to the news outlet.

Am I the only one that finds the idea of Canada and the Philippians being at war hilarious? If this was Jeopardy answer the question would be "Which two countries in the world are least likely to go to war with ANYONE?" You've got the US and North Korea and now the Philippians and Canada

But, like Trump, he's always mad. This is guy who has no use for human rights, imposed the death penalty for a single joint, and ordered that female "rebels" have a gun shoved up their vaginas and shot. He's insane. Naturally, Trump likes him. His kind of guy.

Here’s Why America Is Dumping Its Trash in Poorer Countries
Bales of plastic garbage, stacked 15 feet high, shimmered in the 100-degree heat. They gave off a faint chemical smell as they warped and softened under the equatorial sun. A canary-yellow Walmart clearance tag poked out from one of the dirty heaps. Wrappers and packages from American products were visible nearby. These items had likely traveled 10,000 miles to this unmarked and apparently unauthorized dumpsite in a quiet industrial neighborhood in northwestern Malaysia. Ad hoc dumps like this one, teeming with foreign waste, have popped up across Southeast Asia in recent months —each an ugly symbol of a global recycling system that regional activists and politicians have described as unjust, inequitable and broken. In January and February, HuffPost visited several of these sites in Malaysia to see what really happens to much of the plastic trash that originates in the US and other wealthy nations. Complete article here: Here’s Why America Is Dumping Its Trash in Poorer Countries

Actually the Canadian Government presented a solution in 2017. The matter was already in the Philippian Court system which rejected the solution. I'm guessing part of the reason their Head of State is being so dramatic is because the US didn't give a shit either way until they could use the situation to mock both of our countries.
It is currently in Philippian Court and World Court. At a minimum I expect it will cost my government the amount needed to dispose of the garbage at a suitable site in the Philippines (our original offer) and fines even though it was a private company that sent the shit there. Just more of that good old US style capitalism where free market fucks up and governments (ie citizens) pay for it

Plus the Canadian government has enacted more regulations because companies proved to be so trustworthy without supervision.

Since Value Buy hasn't posted any follow up: Canada will bear cost of bringing trash filled containersOTTAWA - Canada has agreed to pay the full cost of bringing 69 garbage-laden shipping containers back across the Pacific Ocean to Vancouver - but it remains unclear how much it will cost and when it will happen. The Canadian government made a formal offer to bring back the garbage last month but has remained tightlipped about what the offer contained.
