Some people are dumb enough to think that if you wear a fake mustache and glasses, the camera won't recognize them. They're very much mistaken. Facial recognition analyzes 80 facial nodal points.

So, what happens when computers start to make mistakes? (Which we KNOW will eventually happen.) And, someone gets held because they "match" with a fugitive? Florida already has a problem with the automated system that mails out speeding tickets. People are getting tickets in the mail, and the car description doesn't even match the speeding auto. It's been a real mess for them to get things straightened out.

They've already started to launch it for customs. The new cruise terminal for Royal Caribbean has facial recognition customs for all US citizens. You just walk off the ship and go on your way. Orlando's airport is also one of the ones testing it for flights coming in.
When the computer makes mistakes - you still have your boarding pass or passport so then you just show it and should be sorted out quick. Though I'm aware the practice might not be fast at all.

They had that technology last October when we went to Universal - you had to get your face scanned when you first checked into the park, and then when you went to get on a ride, you had to show your pass and let them verify your face.
I get why they would want to do that, though - we had the fast passes where you could skip to the head of the line, but to get those, you have to book a room at one of the more expensive on site hotels. No doubt someone figured out you could book one person into the expensive on site hotel, get one fast pass, and then five of his friends could stay at a cheaper local hotel, get the general admission ticket to the park, and share the fast pass between them. Not sure how good it will be at airports - the ones at Universal occasionally messed up (ticket guy would just wave us through).

This kid is suing Apple saying his face got associated in their recognition system with someone that stole from them, leading to a false arrest. However, I don't really see the connection between the face recognition and his arrest since it seems more likely that it was someone using his lost ID card. www.engadget.com/2019/04/23/apple-facial-recognition-false-arrest-lawsuit/
