You do realize, or more likely you don't, that MSN is a news aggregator. They take things from many sources. The author is a FOX opinion contributor and his piece must be viewed with that in mind. He is not in any way impartial merely based on where the article appears. He is a conservative in all ways and has an agenda here. Spin does not equal truth, except among the intellectually lazy or weak-minded.

Pay attention AS. The author is a republican opinion writer for FOX. I guess he was looking for laughs with this sentence. "What’s next? Demands to see Trump’s elementary school report cards?"
ETA, Tallguy beat me.

If people only listened to their journalists and not their commentators I would not have nearly the problem with them. The commentators are why it was possible for FOX viewers to be less-informed about the news than people who didn't even watch the news.

“Our investigation found multiple acts by the president that were capable of exerting undue influence over law enforcement investigations, including the Russia-interference and obstruction investigations,” according to the report. “The president engaged in a series of targeted efforts to control the investigation.” www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/here-are-the-top-takeaways-from-muellers-report-so-far/ar-BBW4DFs Sounds like obstruction to me.
Barr is arguing that Trump wasn't guilty of collusion, and therefore, didn't have the 'intent' to obstruct, even if, on 10 different occasions, he did obstruct the investigation.
Smells like bs to me.

yes. his argument is that "you can't obstruct if there is no underlying crime".
that's completely false, and he should know that. he probably does. he is just being a toady.

Well, when you "apply" for a position well in advance of it being open by effectively saying, "Whatever you want the "truth" to be I'll back you on it" it doesn't leave much room for actual integrity to show its face.

I'm not sure this is as over as some think it is.... Special counsel Robert Mueller wrote in his report on Russian interference in the 2016 presidential campaign that although he lacked sufficient evidence to clear or charge President Trump on possible obstruction of justice, Congress could take up the issue.
“We concluded that Congress has authority to prohibit a president’s corrupt use of his authority in order to protect the integrity of the administration of justice,” Mueller wrote in his 448-page report, a redacted version of which was released by the Justice Department Thursday.
Mueller made clear in his report that he did not believe his investigation cleared the president of much.
“If we had confidence after a thorough investigation of the facts that the President clearly did not commit obstruction of justice, we would so state,” Mueller wrote.

The House needs to do it's job. It should have been doing it's job all along instead of waiting for the Muller report to magically fix everything and give them the political cover. I hope Pelosi re-examines her stance that impeachment is "off the table" and "not worth it." Allowing this type of corruption and rot to fester unchecked is just as damaging to the country as any divisiveness she fears. Guess what, Madame Speaker, we're already divided, and you and your colleagues not holding this corrupt autocrat accountable isn't going to do anything but move people on the left further away from the Democratic establishment.

Well this should earn her a couple million years in Hell before she gets a chance to get out of it and to safety. But then we knew she was a liar too. Sanders Admitted She Lied to Media About Comey Firing
White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders admitted she lied to the media about President Donald Trump’s highly controversial decision to fire FBI Director James Comey in 2017, according to special counsel Robert Mueller’s report. "Sanders told this Office [of the special counsel] that her reference to hearing from ‘countless members of the FBI’ was a ‘slip of the tongue,’” investigators wrote in the document, which was released with significant redactions by Attorney General William Barr on Thursday. “She also recalled that her statement in a separate press interview that rank-and-file FBI agents had lost confidence in Comey was a comment she made ‘in the heat of the moment’ that was not founded on anything,” it continued. I'm not a lawyer but isn't interfering with an investigation a crime of obstruction? Barr is not saying obstruction didn't occur, he's saying there was no collusion so the obstruction didn't matter.
The president was only obstructing because he was peevish that people dared to investigate him - the 'intent to obstruct due to collusion' wasn't there.
Reminds me of the Bill Clinton 'it depends what the word 'is' means' defense.

I maybe wrong, but didn't Barr say the president would be made aware of what was in the report at the same time the people of America were made aware? Or something like that. Giuliani: Trump lawyers saw Mueller report Tuesday as they prepared rebuttalPresident Trump's personal attorney Rudy Giuliani said Thursday that White House lawyers saw special counsel Robert Mueller's report on Tuesday — two days before its release to the public — as they prepared a rebuttal. "I read every page. ... We started on Tuesday night," Giuliani said on Fox News shortly after the redacted report was released. "We went to the Justice Department, in a secured room. We couldn't take it out, we couldn't photograph it." Giuliani said that he and White House lawyers Jay Sekulow, Marty Raskin and Jane Raskin each reviewed the entire redacted report before sharing their thoughts. They did not receive their own copy of the report but were allowed to take notes, Giuliani added. Story here: Giuliani: Trump lawyers saw Mueller report Tuesday as they prepared rebuttal

President Donald Trump lamented back in 2017 that the appointment of a special counsel would mark the end of his presidency -- and was so furious that he reacted with an expletive, according to the special counsel's redacted report released Thursday. After Sessions delivered the news, "the President slumped back in his chair," the report said, citing notes from Hunt. "Oh my God. This is terrible. This is the end of my Presidency. I'm fucked," Trump said. www.cnn.com/2019/04/18/politics/donald-trump-mueller-report-end-of-my-presidency/index.html

Barr Says Mueller Report Finds Trump Served Bravely In Vietnam
WASHINGTON – Attorney General William Barr said this morning that the Mueller Report offered irrefutable evidence that Donald J. Trump served “bravely and valiantly” in the Vietnam War. “Robert Mueller makes clear that Donald Trump enlisted in the Army and served several tours of duty at the height of the Vietnam conflict,” Barr said. “He did this in spite of an infirmity that would have crushed a lesser man.” Barr said that it was “time to move on” from the Mueller investigation, but added that Congress should consider appropriating funds for a military parade in Trump’s honor.

Donald Trump: I have 'one of the great memories of all time' October, 2017 Trump told Mueller more than 30 times he did not remember key eventsPresident Trump told special counsel Robert Mueller's investigators on more than 30 occasions that he did not recall, remember or have independent memories of key events throughout the Russia investigation, leading Mueller's team to deem his written responses to questions “inadequate.” In his detailed report on the probe, released to the public Thursday, Mueller revealed for the first time the results of his written interview with Trump. The special counsel’s questions covered Trump’s knowledge of the June 2016 Trump Tower meeting, Russian hacking during the election, the Trump Organization’s Moscow project and contacts with Russia during the 2016 election and transition Trump wrote to investigators he had “no recollection of learning at the time” about the June 2016 meeting between his son, son-in-law, campaign chairman and Russians who offered dirt on Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton, “nor do I recall” learning of it during the campaign. Story here: Trump told Mueller more than 30 times he did not remember key events

If I remember right (and I don't) trump rescued Robert Mueller several times during their time in Vietnam. The marine was had been ordered by (Democrat) superiors to go on dubious missions into obvious witch hunt expeditions which Mueller went out on anyway. The brave and malodorous trump, ignoring his personal safety, went out on more than one occasion into the dank and un-raked Vietnamese jungle to rescue the foolhardy young Mueller, each time telling him not to go on these Democrat which hunts. Poor Mueller, apparently never learned. The scene in Forrest Gump where Forrest is seen carrying Bubba Blue away from harm in South Vietnam was inspired by the true story of donald trump actually rescuing Robert Mueller from the jungles of South Vietnam as you have noted. Today, the Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. located in NYC, NY is in a trump owned property (as is all of Times Square and the surrounding streets and buildings). 95% of Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.'s profits go to trump's favorite charity, President Trump Save Migrant Children. And it's about time donald trump awarded himself the Medal of Honor, the military's highest award for his anonymous work during the time the Viet Cong were entering Saigon. trump, without even thinking of his own safety or knowledge of how to fly a plane, commandeered a 747 at Saigon aurport and flew 573 Buddhist nuns to safety.

Mueller: I decided not to say whether it was obstruction.
But if it wasn't obstruction, I'd tell you.
And I'm not telling you that....
Mueller pretty much provide a blueprint to impeachment.
(Also noting the footnote on 390...)

Mueller: I decided not to say whether it was obstruction. But if it wasn't obstruction, I'd tell you. And I'm not telling you that.... Mueller pretty much provide a blueprint to impeachment. (Also noting the footnote on 390...) Barr is attempting to say that Trump didn't commit collusion so he couldn't have committed obstruction - the talking heads on the right are trying to say that Trump might have been committing obstruction because he was afraid people would uncover illegal activity in his businesses, prior to him becoming president. (That's where his 'I'm fucked' comment came from.)
Since the obstruction was about coming up past business sins and not about hiding collusion with the Russians, the right thinks Trump is in the clear.
Here's the problem, though - Mueller was only charge to consider if Trump committed collusion or obstruction regarding the Russians. He wasn't charged with investigating Trump's other potentially illegal activities. But if Trump DID commit illegal acts with his business (like insurance fraud, or money laundering, two issues that are currently being investigated by the SDNY) Trump would be an easy blackmail target, especially if he did money laundering for Russians and Putin knows about it.
We can't have a president who can be blackmailed by the Russians.

I've made it to page 100.
The first 100 pages talk about people around trump trying to set up meetings with the russians.
It seems like there were a pile of grifters, scam artists, and con men hovering around name dropping and trying to arrange these meetings for their own benefit. Trump seems more like a puppet than a player. I think that if Putin really wanted to meet with Trump, there wouldn't have been all these people jockeying for position.
