Since we are all experts here, constantly handing out great wonderful advise to anyone and every one. What is the solution to this immigration problem that is at our Southern border? Attempt to keep them out? Or Hey we are the richest country in the World,, Let them all in,, Free food, housing, medical, and a new car thrown in for good measure. What is your fix?

Drones to monitor. Better tech at checkpoints. Increase immigration lawyers and judges.

Working within other countries to help provide a better life there so that fewer feel the need to emigrate.

You've been given these answers, time and time again, over and over, ad nauseam. Now you're asking again? Maybe you should go see a doctor.

Stop meddling in other countries business, especially those in Central and South America! We created this influx of immigrants by our actions and I think it right that we should have to fix it. Not all countries value things in the same order we do, don’t have the same traditions and most importantly don’t speak English!!! We should stop trying to make them do that! And then we won’t have a reason to bitch and complain about people that “should speak English”, stand at the flag or “if they wanna celebrate Dia del Muerte they should go back”

Working within other countries to help provide a better life there so that fewer feel the need to emigrate. The American ambassador to Ecuador (an Obama hold over) had been working with that country to reduce the pressures that cause people to immigrate to the US and had some success.
Then Trump took away the funding we'd been providing Ecuador so - oh well.

We've got the drones. We've got night vision goggles. The equipment is available, we just need to get more manpower, and use what we've got.

Require the use of the everify system, and hold employers criminally accountable if they are found to be hiring illegals without using the system. Cut off the incentive for illegal workers to enter the country.
Spend some of the money to improve the pay and working conditions of the border patrol officers, at least to be commensurate with other law enforcement positions. Investigate the causes of their high attrition rate and make an effort to fill vacant positions.
Invest other money in technology such as drones and monitoring equipment.
Hire more judges to deal with the backlog of cases.

The problem is less illegal workers now and more illegal families crossing over because liberals have shown to give an easier path to illegals who bring their children. So, if we cut off incentives, then that must also include not allowing their children to attend schools and cutting the children off from all welfare benefits.

really? what might that be?
my understanding is that this latest uptick in family migrations is due to a loophole in the asylum law that is probably older than you.
I know it is fun for you to blame liberals for everything, but I think this law dates back to the 50's.

Of those rejected as asylum seekers that will be dropped off at the border now become the next wave of illegals, Most of which are not being caught!

As far as I know, without legal status the kids are ineligible for any welfare benefits. The family would be dependent on someone getting a job once they arrive. The kids are able to be in school without the legal status, but they can't receive food stamps or welfare. If they are given asylee or refugee status, at that point they would qualify for something.

And another former Obama rep who dealt with border security says, do not think we do not have an emergency at the border. He said a thousand a day could be handled once in a while under the Obama Administration. He says no one can handle 4,000 a day day after day. He says democrats have to do something.

So far we have drones, better security at checkpoints, etc. Drones unless armed and fired are useless other than counting people and sending border security to pick them up and release them, which is what border security is doing now. Not the answer people.

So looking at this in relationship to the topic of this thread: Is the building of a wall along the length of the southern border the "something" that would effectively address this issue?

Redirect new money towards the majority of the problem - people flying in and then overstaying their visas because the illegal immigrants that can afford a plane ticket don't seem to bother people.
Reform our actual immigration policy.

No. It is one of several things that can be done. With the wall, drones might work effectively. With the wall, better security at check points would work more effectively. Right now I am ok with Navy Seals going into Guatelmala, Mexico and disabling trucks and busses loaded with migrants. Shoot out the motor block on every vehicle. It is obvious these countries are using equipment to move migrants as an ongoing money making operation. Since that will not happen, border security agents release tear gas at the fence anytime there are people within 25 feet of the border at all times.

Do you support a universal right of all governments to conduct sabotage operations within other countries to advance their domestic goals? Have you watched an episode of the television show, "The FBI"? Every episode starts with a paragraph explaining we have 100,000 foreign agents/spys working here in the states at this time. Even I see this as an obnoxious number, but we all know they are not all bean counters working ordinary jobs not doing harm to America under one form or another.

So if some of those agents blow up US oil refineries to increase revenues from their oil resources, you position would be that is a legitimate operation for them to undertake? Should the US accept or retaliate?

I think money should be spent to create a new immigration center, kind of a Ellis Island of the south. Require sponsors for citizenship, quarantine those who need it until health checks can be completed. It worked for my grandparents, why not use the same process again.

The Mexican prohibition on pot, along with the relaxed US rules on growing pot, has reversed the flow of pot smuggling. It now goes from the States into Mexico.
So, sounds like you would be ok with the Mexican border patrol and cops crossing the border and burning down pot farms in Colorado and California? Blowing up every grow operation they come across?
Throw out the idea of sovereign nations. Interesting. Of course, I guess we'd have to pay for every school bus and city bus we destroyed thinking it was going to be used to transport illegals, but hey, we've got plenty of money for busting shit up and burning it to the ground, right?
