2 weeks from now I should be able to take a nice long bath in my new soaker tub!!!! It's not hard to see how bathroom renos take off in price! My favourite tile cost $17 sq/ft. I'm going with a basic porcelain tile for $1.15 sq/ft. I'm having it installed in the diamond shape to give it a bit more interest. A tub with jets would be $1000 before the extra plumbing was taken into account. I got a Jacuzzi tub without the jets for $500. My inspiration vanity was $1800 plus the cost of the top, $500-$1000, I got an economical model with the same feel for $730 all in. The bathroom has already been gutted and I have no mold!!!! Yay!!!! That's a nice savings right there. MY ISO needs a shower seat due to an autoimmune disease that is damaging his legs. After a lot of research I found one that looks like a bath tray and holds up to 500 lbs. It even matches my colour scheme. It's $300 but doesn't look like a medical apparatus and doesn't require special construction. I'm now saying nightly prayers to the reno gods that things go smoothly, unlike every other reno project I have ever heard of. Wish me luck!

Well it's increased $900 in price already. Apparently the plumbing has some funky angles they need to fix up to plumb the wider tub. And I want my tile in a diamond pattern and that costs more. But now that I've thought of the pattern I can't put in the regular straight square or it will bug me for all eternity. The good news is that my contractor shows up every day and stays a full day so I'm happy about that.
It's no fun running downstairs in the middle of the night to pee! I can't wait to have my bathroom back!!

So the plumbing is all done and as of last night I had drywall back up. Today is taping and mudding.

So here it is so far. It's just a bathroom, but that tub is sooo deep!!! And I can shut the drain to make it deeper!!! I like how the tile is turning out. I will have the same tile in the same pattern around the tub. My contractor isn't thrilled about that lol
ETA - How do I share a picture from my computer?

Good luck on your renovation! Unfortunately, having been through a bath reno, it did come to more money than expected. There's always surprises hiding somewhere. I hope you will share some pictures when the process is completed.
