If Trump IS in fact exonerated is not gonna be done by Mueller’s report. The report just presents the findings and the AG makes the decision. There is however the SDNY where it appears that nothing goes unpunished, no matter how small the wrongdoing. All they have to do is wait for him to be out of the WH.

The straw I am grasping at is 2020. However, I suspect the Trump group will make up something about the D-candidate, and people will be 100 % sure they are actually an alien robot with a tail who can administer abortions just by looking at someone, and they shot Lincoln, or whatever.

Quick generate a crisis!!
These kinds of reports are always turned over to Congress in their entirety for immediate review.
The fact that Barr released his 4 page memo declaring Trump 'exonerated' off the collusion charges (but not the Obstruction charges) but didn't release the report with it is highly unusual.
The fact that he continues to drag his feet is even more unusual. The fact that he is insisting on redacting the report is also very unusual.
Then Trump seems to have changed his mind about releasing the report at all, in a tweet:
Although the president had earlier indicated that he favored releasing the report, on Friday evening March 29, Trump hinted in a tweet that since “the Democrats never have enough,” maybe the Mueller report should not be released.
Why change his mind, if the report 'totally exonerates' him?
The Dems believe Barr got his job by presenting the president with a letter stating he did not believe it was possible for the President to obstruct justice. Is Barr covering up evidence of obstruction in the Mueller report?

By the way, the Trump admin now risks being charged as a criminal enterprise. Maybe not grasping at straws, huh?

So are his 2016 tax returns still being audited by the IRS? Hmmm...I think not.

Barr is Trump's personal attorney not a real AG.

I never thought Trump would be taken down.
the numbers are just not there, and are not likely to be through his term.
moreover, I doubt the wisdom of doing something that the American VOTER should do.

Grasping for straws? Fuck. If that report exhonerated trump... and about the only quote from Mueller’s report Barr used said it did NOT, we’d all have gold copies already.

Trump made the comment last week that 'maybe' he won't release the report at all, he'd just let the whole thing 'die down.'
He truly does not understand politics if he thinks hiding the report will make the issue just go away. Every day they refuse to hand it over just makes it seem like they have more to hide.

Every poll since it was released to the doj has showed no bump for trump and most people still thinking he is guilty of something.

can you imagine the public response if people said this about the Watergate report?
it is a general convention that we consider recent times to be more enlightened than former times.
but clearly we are going backwards.

his approval is up 1/2%, and disapproval down 1%.
net difference = 1.5%. so, yeah, hardly any movement:

It's always the coverup that gets people, rarely the crime. Not that I think in this instance (not releasing the report) "gets" means anything like impeachment or jail.

I think he understands politics too well. He doesn't want the issue to go away. As long as everyone is focussed on that report they aren't focussed on the legislation he's passing, the judges he's appointing, the money he's making staying at Mara Lago with all those security folks...that kind of stuff. I think Trump stays very quiet about the things he can really get in trouble for.

WASHINGTON—Irked that the attorney general’s brief summary of his meticulously written report reflected only a surface-level understanding of its contents, Special Counsel Robert Mueller told reporters Monday he was peeved that William Barr clearly didn’t read his stuff like he suggested he would. “I worked really hard on this thing for two years, put some great stuff in there, and as far as I can tell he just glanced over it briefly and tossed it aside,” said Mueller, who expressed irritation that Barr, despite assuring the former FBI director that he couldn’t wait to read his new work, had apparently not bothered to absorb the nuanced, comprehensive 300-page report before writing a cursory, four-page letter about it. politics.theonion.com/mueller-kinda-miffed-that-barr-clearly-didn-t-read-his-1833722284
