happened in 2014 www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/biden-doesnt-recall-alleged-kissing-incident-from-2014/ar-BBVp2IK?li=BBnb7KzShould this eliminate him from running, or eventually winning? Thoughts? Myself, I guess I am old school. Yes, it is totally unacceptable today. I think anyone who has been a political junkie as well as say, a union member who attended union political rallies in my youth saw all the glad handling, kissing on the cheeks of the sexes (from both sides, male and female) among other physical jestures at the time. It was accepted contact. Yes, some of the women might have felt it was unacceptable even then, but when the unions were empowering women members, it was accepted quietly on the podium. You can agree or disagree with me on this, but we all know it went on. Does this disqualify Biden today? We all know he was always handsy. He is from the democrat/union rally candidate school. Unless he is found to go beyond this kissing/touching type thing, I think he gets a pass. Someone just has to tell Joe those days are over and no longer allowed. His off the cuff remarks and misuse of words seem to be a larger problem for him for me, but then since I am a Trump fan I have no right to criticize him on these issues, and I am not doing it now. I think he has the best chance of anyone to beat Trump. Do you accept his shortcomings and welling to have him sit in the WH regardless of his now known and hated shortcomings or is he disqualified? I am asking everyone here for your thoughts.

We have established “grab them by the p” doesn’t disqualify a candidate and clearly this fits under that extremely high bar.

I was just about to post something similar, @aj. We currently have a "pu$$y-grabbing" president, so even if the accusation is found to be true, Trump has significantly lowered the bar on whatever presidential behavior is supposed to be.

I am not a biden fan and this fits in with those things I find concerning about him. Just as it was easy for him to call pense a great guy. www.inquisitr.com/5367609/creepy-uncle-joe-biden-women-flores/And I am frustrated that this gets acknowledged and forgotten multiple times per year. Biden is not an ally to women, to LGBTQ communities, because it is so difficult for him to see past the straight white male perspective he grew up in. And he has neither stretched himself nor really grown, and if he does so now or last few years - it is just self serving in pursuit of the highest office. I really must urge my fellow democrats to stop ignoring this situation.

he talks a good game, but in the end, he is not really a "doer". just a talker.

And yes you are trying to make Biden look bad by trying to tie his behavior as almost similar to trump's far worse behavior no matter how you try to defend your OP.

To me this sounds like someone (the accuser) wants her 15 minutes in the news.
I'm not a Biden fan but why didn't this come out when he was VP?

At least not for Republicans anyway

If the Democrats want to take the high road on this stuff, they need to take the high road on ALL of this stuff. Maybe one of the other 32 potential candidates will be a better choice.

This is a really really important message that we need to come to terms with. With so many people in the field, the early primaries may be so divided that we are not getting good information. Biden has his fan base. Generally - older people who think he is comforting and familiar and not too far this way or too far that way. so if biden gets 30% and 10 others are splitting the other 70% and he comes out as a leader - when in reality there are 5 people in the field splitting 60% of the vote on very little differentiation and any of the voters would be pretty happy with any of the 5, but just picked their favorite. But then we get biden - for all the wrong reasons. Biden has likely lost the LGBT community with his pense is a good guy. And well he should. I would think he would be doing very poorly with younger women who are not so dismissive of the creepy uncle joe behavior. Not sure how he is doing with people of color.

It would be great if the primaries were ranked voting - especially since early states have so much power. It would be nice if they could get more information with a fairly simple process change.

So far, we have the following: Eight Trump rants Three Value Buy criticisms
Seven actual posts on the subject (TY for these, you know who you are!) Two posts responding to posts that do not fit the above descriptions.
I thought I would post the thread premise, because as I stated I thought Biden has the best chance to defeat Trump of all the announced contenders so far. If you disagree with my premise, do that. Disagree. The thread is not about Trump, and that is low hanging fruit for everyone. Will Democrats accept a less than pure Democrat who has "failings", and remember these failings were considered acceptable everyday banter and or physical contact less than a couple of decades ago by the public at large. This thread was not about me, as I said I would give him a pass unless someone comes forward where he went past what any person has claimed so far. Will I vote for Trump in 2020? I can honestly say at this point, I do not know. Will I vote fror any of the Democratic announced candidates? Probably no, but I could vote for a reasonable person, if they run. Trump has failed me on the border issue, and I need clarity from him on this.

One thing that we do know about biden is that he feels very entitled to use his position of power to touch and paw at young girls when they are in pressured situations with their parents present and unable or unwilling to help them because of biden's position of power. It's fucking disgusting to watch him use this advantage to play with their hair and touch their shoulders and arms and he should absolutely be disqualified form any public office on that ground alone in 2018.
And if that doesn't carry weight with the biden fans here - do check out the video compilations of this behavior and think about that used in republican attack ads.
Then tell me how "electable" he is.

If he is unacceptable to the Democrats, for this very reason, are you and others welling to go down flaming against Trump in 2020? Tell me who can beat Trump. Many Republicans and Independents did hold their nose when they voted for Trump. Will Democrats be able to do that with Biden? I guess that sums it up at this point, at least from my side of the aisle. And thank you for your responses!

I've seen a video of him giving someone a kiss on the back of the head- maybe it wasn't her. It looked affectionate rather than creepy. Biden is touchy feely- and that is not cool today, but it is his natural persona. I give him a pass on this one. You don't want to know about it. I get it. but if you consider yourself an informed voter you need to seek out more information on this than just seeing one clip with an adult and deciding to give him a pass.

Even without the accusations, I think (ETA: I meant to say I think Trump and Biden are both too old). He (Biden) is not on my list of possibilities. Kamala Harris, Amy Kolbuchar.
I always liked Elizabeth Warren, but DH thinks she does not react well to questions. He says she is too old too but Trump, Biden are older.

Biden's time came and went. He probably would have won in 2016.
