The heat for the lyin' trump and DeVos must have been too much. President donald trump says Special Olympics will be funded, Betsy DeVos says that's what she wanted all along.President donald trump on Thursday said the administration will fund Special Olympics following a whirlwind of criticism this week over the White House's budget proposal that had eliminated federal funding for the program. "The Special Olympics will be funded, I just told my people," trump told reporters outside the White House. "I want to fund the Special Olympics and I just authorized funding of the Special Olympics." Education Secretary Betsy DeVos said in a statement she was pleased with the president's decision. “I am pleased and grateful the President and I see eye to eye on this issue and that he has decided to fund our Special Olympics grant. This is funding I have fought for behind the scenes over the last several years,” DeVos' statement said. Complete article here: President Donald Trump says Special Olympics will be funded, Betsy DeVos says that's what she wanted all along.Wait....what? It was their idea!! Goddamn liars. On the national evening news just a few minutes ago, trump said he just heard this morning about stripping the special olympics their government funds. F'n liar. It 's been in the media, television, radio, and print, for a few days.

Mr President, you purpose a budget and hand it to Congress for their consideration. In your proposed budget, there was no funding for Special Olympics. You can change your proposed budget to include it in your proposed budget. But sorry Mr President, you can't "authorize funding". Unless, of course, you declare a national emergency.

I don't know who is more disgusting, Trump with his flip flops and lies, or Betsy Vos now pretending she was some big advocate for Special Olympics right from the start.
Of course, she's the Dark Prince's brother, what can we expect.

My concern with this is the rising cost of debt maintenance. It takes money away from everything. Scrap the wall → $30B saved and that is just building it (on budget) followed by annual savings on the maintenance of that wall I was commenting on the cost of maintaining the public debt of $22 trillion. Our government doesn't seem too interested in savings. Kamala wants to give every teacher a $13,500/year raise. Think that will lock up the education vote, save money at our debt level ? It sure isn't going to free up any $$ for poor disabled kids.

While I am not a fan of Betsy Devos, I do not know why Special Olympics funding was coming out of federal education dollars. Education money should be spent on education only. I've seen local schools shutting down art, music, various sports, because there is no money. Can anyone tell me whether the regular Olympics receive funding from Federal education funds? Does Special Olympics receive any monetary resources from the Olympic fundings? If so, how much and why? The traditional Special Olympics program funded by philanthropy operates around the country for over half a million athletes every year provides thousands of events, hundreds of coaching and training opportunities every day around the country and has over 50 years been built on the backs of volunteers and philanthropists. This is not the work being funded by the United States Department of Education. On the contrary, the United States Department of Education, in partnership with state Departments of Education and local education authorities, have contracted with Special Olympics to provide critical educational services in schools, supporting the development of children with special needs, supporting the learning about their peers, and supporting the teaching of critical, social and emotional skills such as grit, perseverance and inclusion. This work, as distinct from the traditional Special Olympics program, is critical to the future not just of education in schools but of the country. Everywhere we look people are starving to be able to infuse our young people with the hope that comes from being inclusive with the confidence that comes with seeing justice realized, with the joy that comes from exercise—exercising their skills in pursuit of a more welcoming future. These are the lessons being taught in schools by Special Olympics programs and they are critically the responsibility not just of the volunteer sector but of our elected leaders." www.specialolympics.org/stories/news/special-olympics-responds-to-proposed-funding-cuts-for-education-programs-in-the-united-states

No wonder this guy declared bankruptcy a bunch of times. He is showing zero financial discipline. Anytime someone asks for something, he just says yes. Koch wants massive tax cuts? Yes! Bannon wants a wall? Yes! And now this. Talk about a candle in the wind.

We also know he doesn't (can't?) read or listen to anyone who is not there specifically to kiss his flabby *ss. So you can't expect him to keep track of all (or even any) of this stuff.
Try to keep up
