Sounds wonderful. I was kidding about Monaco. I know someone who is on the coast of Portugal, and they love it there. Celebrated New Years in Monaco years ago. Nice little city-state.

She won the popular vote, but because of the vote distribution, she lost the electoral vote. Some of the swing states were within 70,000 votes. I hardly call that crashing and burning. And yet we were told in 2008 the Electoral College was no longer revelant because the big population states will control the Presidential results from now on. The democrats were estatic. We were also told in 2012. "Trump tweeted his criticism of the Electoral College after the 2012 presidential election, calling it “ a disaster for a democracy.” Trump lost the popular vote in the 2016 presidential election but won the electoral college." Trump changes his mind on the Electoral CollegeSo trump's election is "a disaster for a democracy".

I know Trump and Bush both lost the popular vote - but if there were no electoral college, it doesn't necessarily mean Republicans wouldn't be able to win a presidential election. There are millions of Republican voters in California and New York that aren't currently being heard. If the electoral college went away, the campaign strategy would change, and Republicans could easily gain voters. I also wouldn't be surprised if it increased our participation in voting. Maybe there are Republicans in California that just don't bother showing up to the polls because the state will go blue. Once we start counting EVERY vote, people may feel more enthused, and we just don't know how that would change the numbers.
What I could also see is that both parties may need a more moderate stance. I think Trump is a great marketer - and if he needed to win a few more city folk, he could have with some small changes to his message. There are plenty of angry people in Chicago (for example), but maybe he didn't speak to them, because he didn't need to. He tailored his message to land best where he needed it to land. If we change the landscape, the message may change. Same with Democrats - if they need to reach out beyond their safe havens, maybe they would try and understand a few more of our citizens, and adjust accordingly.
Of course, my thoughts are theoretical - but assuming that the exact same campaign strategies that motivated a certain voting pattern would continue - and therefore D's would prevail is short sighted - by both parties. The GOP could use this to their advantage.

Celebrated New Years in Monaco years ago. Nice little city-state. It looks wonderful, but if you are a foreigner you need to be prepared to have gobs of money to live on don't you? Very expensive to live in Monaco. Housing wise, and because Monaco is so small, one can find less expensive housing in Monaco's suburbs which would put one in France (or even in Italy). I totally agree with him. the failure of the EC to elect the president that most of us voted for got us the two worst presidents in the last century.

their best bet is to make voting difficult.

no...way.
he might very well end up being the worst president in history.
your failure to recognize that is a service to nobody.

Bush was never indicted, either. neither was Harding.
Trump is worse than both of them.
NOTE: I am not saying that he won't be indicted. I am saying that it has nothing to do with my point.

What I heard them say was maybe the evidence Muller had, was not of the Beyond a reasonable doubt kind. We don’t know what is in sealed indictments, or passed off to State Prosecuters.

So you don't like guys who lie to the public? Who did you vote for, again? The most prolific and pathological liar the world has ever known.

Conservatives can cheer and jeer and say I told you so all they want. The Trump tower meeting with the Russians and the bald face lie about it told me all I needed to know. If as an American, that doesn't bother you, so be it. This country stands for nothing anymore.

Certainly with their knuckling under to the worst and maybe dumbest person ever elected it can now be said that the GOP stands for nothing any more. No courage, no integrity, no honor left in them.

So did you actually read that? Yes. Coming from them that is an almost 100% admission they were wrong without admitting to it by about 99% but I take it as a complete win from fake news and Jeff Bezos

What with trump pretty much assuring everyone who spoke with the special counsel he would pardon them if they were indicted and convicted in a federal court, it's no surprise there might be no real surprises in the report.
That won't be the case in the Southern District of New York investigations. trump cannot pardon them, including his own children.
